However on this trip, the escalator close to the ticket machine was closed down. The only way up was to use a staircase at the far other end of the platform. So I bought my ticket at 5 minutes to the train arrival time. I'm racing to get to the staircase and hear the train pull in at 3 minutes before the scheduled time. I'm halfway up the stairs and the train is pulling out.... 2 minutes early!!! Had to wait an entire hour for the next train to arrive. Complete manure if you ask me. At least it wasn't freezing out.

I also saw a food cart outside the station, which is a good thing since there don't appear to be any food places you could safely walk to from here. If you have a car you're good but if you don't, you'd better hope you have a ride nearby. At least there's parking and I think they had a lounge you could sit in while waiting for your train to arrive. I probably wouldn't be here again unless I had to be.

When I go to the train station is usually clean and is now very updated compared to the one I use in Babylon. It's kind of behind sunrise across from Mulcahy's and the spoon. On that side, where you can go in to talk to an employee to get tickets for the train, there is a screen on the outside of the building with a list of trains that are going to stations and it tells you if they're on time or not, which is nice. And also tells you what time they're coming in so that way you're not running and guessing when you get there. I like the fact that they have it on the outside because now you don't have to run in the building to see if they're on time or late.

You get what you pay for. STAY AWAY…read more Two of the worst driver experiences ever. For the trip to the airport, Lawrence E. showed up early and was rushing us the whole time. When we got to the car, instead of saying hi or being professional, he rudely told us we were making him late because he had to go to Smithtown after us. Then, he drove us to the WRONG AIRPORT. For the trip back, I got a text from Damian Smith when we landed, telling us he was running late. I appreciated the heads-up. He said it would be about 35 minutes, which would have been only a short wait for us after getting our bags, but it ended up being over an hour and 40 minutes. We kept checking in with phone calls and texts and he always said he was very close and would be there soon. At one point he said he had stopped to get gas. Then he said he was very close and that we should come outside. So we waited another ten minutes in the cold with our newborn baby after a 2 hour flight and he still wasn't there. I called him and demanded to know where he was, explaining that my newborn was cold and hungry and he hung up on me. Not knowing what else to do, I called the company to complain and cancel the ride. Just as he was pulling up, the company hung up on me. Damian now wants to talk to me "man to man". He said the safety of his passengers is his number one priority and that he had to get his wheel fixed, as if I should have both known that was what was really going on, and that I should have been grateful that was the reason he was late, instead of doing the right thing and letting us and the company know so other arrangements could be made. He denied hanging up on me. And felt he had to explain that he was in the right because the wheel needed to be fixed. He also told us he had to drive to Canada the next day. When he got us home, he said "See? You're home safe." As if he was a hero. Worst experience ever.

Like they were trying to be funny or something, but it was just violently loud and obnoxious and scary. Why would I be alone in a car with someone for over an hour if they were associated with a manager that unstable? Why would someone at dispatch answer the phone by screaming loudly in someone's ear? I was so surprised that I instantly hung up without so much as uttering, "wtf....?" Scary. Going to schedule an Uber and a Lyft and hope for the best even though it's a 3 am pickup.

The only reason I am deducting one star is because during peak hours returning from NYC there are not enough trains! I suppose that is not the train stations fault but more of the MTA. Anyway, this is my local station so I will continue to use it whenever needed.

I really loved all of the old photos adoring the walls, which paid tribute to decades and decades of veterans. The venue space was super clean, quite large and well organized. I really enjoyed how we could enjoy their full bar, which on non-event nights, is open to members only. It felt like a true blast from the past. The bartender was super down to earth and the fellow patrons were welcoming. And don't get me started on the prices... $2.50 for a non-acoholic beer and $4 for liquor!? While I don't drink, I really enjoyed the selection of non-alcoholic beers. This was my first time having a 0% Guinness, and it was great!
