Taxi service with this company has gone to crap at night!! I call for a cab at 8:02 at Patchogue RR when I get off the 7:58 train and I'm always told 15 minutes. 20 minutes later a cab comes in and it's a cab driver who can't cross Sunrise Hwy because the driver got into a bad accident years ago by there so I'm stuck waiting another hour till 9:00 pm when the next train comes in!! Why bother telling me 15 minutes if you have no taxis available? Plus shouldn't you have taxis at the train station automatically when trains come in like every other taxi company does? YES!!! And forget about getting a taxi at night during the 7:00 hour because it's shift change and you will never get a taxi until 8:00pm!! You can get off the train at 6:50 and they're already on shift change and you're stuck for over an hour until 8:00 when the evening shift gets on! No other taxi company on Long Island operates this way!! It should be illegal to run this business the way you do!! Another time I was on the train the door on my end of the car didn't open in Patchogue but the other did and I had to go to Bellport and I call taxi and he says "we dont pick up there at this time of night, it's too dangerous." Started walking home then taxi came anyway. I know Bellport is dangerous at 2:20am but still. It's not my fault the train door didn't open up and I got stuck in Bellport!! Shut up and do your job and get the people where they are to where they need to go!!!! read more

I work as a security guard where I have to make calls to this toxic taxi service for disabled individuals so they can go to their programs, and let me just say that not only do these assholes take forever to answer the phone, they're also extremely rude and insanely childish with every call I make ranging from yelling to straight up insults. Avoid this cancer. These jackasses don't know how to run a business, are blatantly pushy, and are very disrespectful and unprofessional. I truly hope this service fails. read more

Their drivers are rude and they are bad drivers. My experience with them I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I had to use a cab to move out of where I was. It wasn't that far from where I was so someone called a cab for me. They were suppose to be there at 4 and they didn't show up until 7. When they finally show up the man didn't even get out to help me. He just sat there. There was to much and I was maneuvering things so it can fit. The guy started curse at me. If you're lucky, you'll get a dispatcher who you'll have to call three times to get a cab -- an hour after you call for it. Then you'll pay too much for your ride, probably having to pick up three other people in the mile or two that you have to go. If you're not so lucky, you'll get a complete psycho nut job whose driving will make you fear for your life, causing you to become physically nauseous and raise your blood pressure to dangerous levels -- on your way to the doctor's office. I am giving four stars strictly for the drivers. They are all very nice and we have never had a bad one. However, the dispatchers: They can be nasty. One time the driver was very late arriving. Normally they arrive exactly as stated which is why my boyfriend called. The dispatcher flipped out on him saying things like, "calm down he will be there" etc. No apology or anything. Another time the cab driver offered assistance to another driver over the radio and the dispatcher got all snarky saying "I don't need another dispatcher" very rudely. You would think he would be glad they help each other out. There were probably only about two times that the dispatchers were semi pleasant. Not sure if it's always the same guy. STAY AWAY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! One of the worst companies I've ever seen. The drivers behavior is so inappropriate along with the dispatchers. I was sitting outside of my home waiting for my neighbor (elderly women who needs help walking) to move their car. The taxi driver (car 234) pulls up starts smashing on his horn immediately and screaming out the window as my neighbor is helping his mother get to the car. I have called for cabs in advance a few times and they are never on time and make up lie's when I call to follow up, as if I was born yesterday. Everytime I use a cab from Lindys in Patchogue I have a problem. It's incredibly expensive or it takes forever. I called for a cab today and it has taken more than an hour. I called to check how long twice after 20 minutes and 40 minutes and was told "A few more minutes" and then told "oh he's dropping people off". I said I would've liked to know it was going to be an hour before I got picked up because I would've made other arrangements. Drivers are always great but communication is poor. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I could encounter. All of my experiences with them have been TERRIBLE but this one definitely takes the cake. They almost got my poor boyfriend arrested. To begin, I called the taxi company for a ride for my boyfriend to Medford train station an HOUR before I needed them to arrive. The dispatcher, Melanie, gave me a snarky attitude and said I didn't allow enough time to arrive there (the train station is 5 minutes away.) Okay... Well they arrive with enough time and everything seems okay. They get to the train and he tries to pay with my credit card. They refuse to do so because it's in my name. So I send him money to his account and they charge it. It doesn't go through for some reason ( turns out they overcharged him 3 times for more than 6 bucks so that's why it doesn't go through.) They threaten to take him to the precinct and have him arrested so I call the dispatcher to try to pay that way. She refuses to do so and insinuates that I stole the card and that she needs written consent. I try to tell her that I will call the bank and have them call her and she starts personally attacking our characters! She says that she doesn't understand why we would pay with a credit card and doesn't understand why he doesn't have cash ... I explain to her that we didn't know and I live in Manhattan so I didn't know it was a problem. She continues attacking me and then says ," there's nothing I can do and you're unpleasant so your boyfriend's getting arrested ." I am a very sensible and nice person but I definitely have a breaking point . So I snap back and say , " DO NOT ARREST MY BOYFRIEND ." And she hangs up on me ... I called to get a cab and politely told the dispatcher where I was headed. In order to ensure there was no miscommunication I spelt the name of the address. When I did this the dispatcher got very aggressive for no reason and hung up on me. When I called back again he told me he "didn't need a spelling lesson". Because I was travelling with 3 kids, I ordered a taxi and this company came in 10 mins. Our destination was 5 mins away via car and the dispatcher said it would be $24. I told him i did not think it was a fair price since it was 1 adult and 3 kids, he then reduced the fair to $22. This still didn't sit right with me. He said one person is $18 (wtf?) About 4-5 months ago I had to take a taxi from a buddies house down the street (Maybe 2-3 miles, MAX) after a special dinner. My girlfriend and I called and the taxi arrived promptly - this was the only good part of our experience. I know I've called Lindy's in the past, too, and the dispatcher was generally pretty rude, but I digress with my original story... The guy sees me in my uniform after driving us literally 2 miles and says, "Well, I'm gonna give you a deal! $16." I was like... That's a deal? I just ended up throwing him a $20 and exiting the vehicle. Very condescending and very expensive. To compare, my girlfriend and I took a cab this past weekend from Main Street in Patchogue to Half Penny Pub in Sayville and THAT was $18 - much more fair of a price. We tipped that guy much better because he was actually very nice, comical, and we sympathized with the idiots he had to deal with (Immediately prior to getting into the cab a few guys got out - one of which was completely obliterated). I have used them many times over the years, , but they are way overpriced.. Very rude dispatchers as well. I needed to go to Stony Brook Hospital from Medford and they charged me $40 . I had no choice but to use them as I had a car issue and I was going to the hospital for radiation treatments. That wasn't the case. And he added "I can't call a long distance number from this phone" Really? A cab company offering airport service in 2015 can't call an out of town cell phone? It's Summer, why not have cars at the train station for people going to the ferry or anywhere else for that matter?? How long have you been on Long Island? I'm only giving one star because I HAVE to. This has been THE worst taxi service I've ever had to use or even heard about. I have a medical condition, and Lindy's is used as a medical transport for Logisticare, the company that handles such things under my insurance. I would highly recommend dropping them from that list of providers, btw. On my last two transports, I was taken to the doctor's office and hospital. When trying to get a return ride from the office, I was made to wait nearly three hours in the cold and dark, the office closed behind me, while calls to dispatch were answered by some angry person with a nasty attitude who kept telling me to wait longer... first 30 minutes, then 10 minutes, then an hour (!), then ANOTHER 30 minutes, then 15 minutes. Yes, I or the doctor called FIVE TIMES for updates, and got FIVE different times for how long it was going to be. Eventually the taxi arrived and took me home... but I was nearly at my limit by then for standing or even sitting and was desperately in need of lying down by that point; I just slumped in the cab until I got home, then left without a word. I kept getting this vaguely annoyed feeling from the driver as well... as if my being unhealthy and making him actually do his job offended him somehow. I was too tired to care. The second time, it was the hospital itself that called for the transport... and Lindy's claimed they never received the request. I stood and sat around from 9 pm until well after 1 am, asking where the taxi was and finally managing to get a response around 12:30 am that the request was being resent in order to get the taxi to come. Once that was done, someone arrived some time afterwards. What I think *really* happened is people don't want to do medical transports, and the only reason I got picked up was there aren't many other jobs to do at 1am. Lindy's is a universally BAD company. And in my opinion if they aren't willing to provide prompt service even to people with physical issues or illness who need transport, and are willing to make those people wait for hours or conveniently 'lose' their requests, they need to stop doing that service entirely. I'm honestly going to recommend that Logisticare removes them from their list of providers as they really don't care about much beyond the money they're making. tl;dr: IF YOU HAVE *ANY* OTHER CHOICE OF TAXI COMPANY, *USE* IT. First off, I've taken lindys quite a few times and have always thought the dispatchers were just horrible. But today, lindys was not only it's usual self, but they over charged me BIG time, and the dispatcher starts yelling at the driver while I'm still in the car. I will never use them again, it should cost $21 to go .4 miles (literally up the block, no turns and 1 red light) and back, with wait time of literally 3 minutes in between, when it costs me $22 to go 6.0 miles to my house from the same starting point .... Is it just me? Because I thought the going rate for that distance was approximately $12-$14.... I paid, after I gave them a piece of my mind...but I will never take them again. Well, I will give you a very lengthy reason why I rated so low, and that is their overnight dispatcher. I have to be at work at 4:45 some mornings, so I call ahead for timed calls. One day I overslept.The next day, I was waiting for my timed pickup, and no one showed. I called and he said, you are no longer allowed to have a timed pickup, and I have no cab for you right now. I called and spoke to one of the supervisors, who informed me that he is not allowed to do that, so I set up more timed calls. The first day I called just to be sure, and he told me that from now on I had to call him, even though I had a timed call, to make sure I was awake. Fair enough. Well, this week, I called in my timed calls, got a woman, and asked for pickups on weds. Thursday, and Friday. Weds. showed, but Thursdays didn't. I called and he said, good thing you called, we didn't have you written down, I will send someone now. I asked if I could put in for a timed pickup the next day, and he said, no just call. Well, on Friday I called, at 3:45am, and was told, no we don't have any drivers, they are all booked! I am so sick of the games this man plays with my livelyhood. What a horrible company and rude people. I called Lindys taxi because I needed to go to the ER because I was very ill and well an ambulance is not covered by insurance and costs $1,000. First the girl doing dis batch told me ,after I informed her I needed to go to the hospital that the driver was on the road and I should just wait outside. I asked her to have the driver call me when he was here and she told me it should be 10 min or less. Well after 20 min still no tax so I went back inside because I'm very ill. I never recover a call from the driver but saw him outside the window finally so I ran outside to catch him. He was very rude and angry when I flagged him down and told him I was the pick up I told him I just had to grab my stuff. Besides being sick he made me flustered and I was trying to just get out the door but I had dropped my phone when I saw him through the window. It was less than 10 min that I was outside and he was gone I called back and he said he left and if I wanted to go I now had to pay double the rate for making him wait 10 min. For years I being using this taxi service and the drivers are so nice, at least the people gave me service, BUT THE PEOPLE ON THE PHONE??? There is always an attitude, with no manners at all. I called because I need the service to go to a doctor's appointment and a woman put me on hold for like 5 minutes SERiOUSLY? Then with attitude she answer back my phone call and ask me where I was going and told me is gonna be 30 minutes or more I said I need it in 10 minutes and she rude and raising her voice at me said :" I have another phone call requesting service r u gonna get the service or not?" I ended up in Patchogue after a series of travel misses. I called Lindys for a taxi to a car rental place and had a good chat with the dispatcher about my mangling of the name "Patchogue". Several times during the drive, the driver realized I was going to a different rental car place than where we expected (there are quite a few in the area and the towns in the area are very close and have the same road names). I am grateful he was paying attention and helping me out; not all drivers are like that. He also helped me plot the rest of my trip and made sure I was at the right rental car place before leaving me. The driver was wonderful, and I wish I could call him out by name because he really helped turn my day around. Thank you! read more
