I wandered up the little arcade expecting, well nothing. It's tiny. If there were shops there, I expected them to have sunk under a pile of dust and forgotten cliches etc.
So imagine my surprise to find Patches, the cutest, smallest little giftware shop filled with the most amazing gift-homeware I've ever seen. I'm talking teeny tiny little Alice in Wonderland tea party sets. I'm talking darling cutlery. How is cutlery even darling? I don't understand, but whoever is doing the buying for Patches has some talent.
I went inside, and you'd think that the tiny shop size would mean I'd be stumbling over the owner/retail assistant at every turn. Nope. Actually, I didn't see them at all. So I left, again, thinking perhaps I'd stumbled into such a quaint little shop that it didn't actually exist. But then I do watch a lot of Dr Who. read more
