Really lovely place... large area but still feels very personal and intimate Was truly deserving of a 5 Star rating but the Wonton Shrimp hit a flat note and was so out of sync with everything else we ordered. Almost tasted like pre flavoured frozen shrimp that was microwaved and 5 of them placed in a plate with a ton of salad Now that I've got that out of the at let's move onto everything else that was outstanding Chicken Penne Garden Penne Seafood Linguine Steak Sandwich All of these were authentically flavoured and tasted fresh and light Maybe the seafood linguine could be the same portion size as the pennes ... would be my only suggestion here And then we topped these off with a two bite brownie ... which was delectable and way more than 2 bites When we are in London next, we will make a stop here PS: Also had a wonderful experience while we were waiting for our starters There was a young couple scoping the place and engaged in discussions with the staff about seating arrangements, dates, times, menu options .... Stopped in after checking into our hotel which is next door, and so glad we did. One of the best meals we have had in years! The baguette with garlic butter was unbelievable, I could live on it! We also loved the Caesar Salad and the Gnocchi with chicken, peas, bacon and a garlic cream sauce was the best we have ever had! Do not miss this place! read more

I had supper this evening at Pasto's Grill. You can enter from outside. It's attached to the Best Western Stoneridge Inn and there's an entrance through the hotel down the long hallway. I ordered a Carnivore pizza. It was had a thin crust and was soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside ... just how I like it. There was lots of meat on it (so it lived up to its name) and I didn't find the tomato sauce spicy at all. I ate half of it and had the other half boxed to take with me for tomorrow. I'd get it again if I was in this area. Kat was my server and she took good care of me. read more

Always get a good meal here. Friendly service and overall pleasant atmosphere although can get a bit load when full. Highly recommended.

We were staying at the hotel for a hockey tournament and the restaurant was able to accommodate us for an early dinner on the Friday night. The wait staff was great and managed to keep up with the growing number of tables and keep track of who was with who. The food had mixed reviews but mostly positive. We had one player not like their meal as she felt it tasted and smelt off. The chef came out to question her and made her feel intimidated. She did not want a replacement and chose to finish her appetizer as she had a game to play. She was surprised to find the meal charged to her. I stepped in to help as her mother was not present at the dinner but asked the server not to bring the chef out as she was intimidated by him. He came out anyway and told me there was nothing wrong with the meal and he had tasted it himself. (Who says that?) He said he offered her something else, but she didn't want anything. Please note that we had over 30 people in the restaurant and yet he refused to comp one $22 meal. My husband stepped in to try to reason with him but it was clear his gigantic ego could not accept someone thinking there was something wrong with her meal. He even gave it back to my husband since it was paid for (which we left because he had tasted it, which is gross and everyone else thought there was something wrong with it). I have never had such an experience in a restaurant hence the one-star rating. Please note that we did return for the free breakfast on Sunday and it was very good. The chef who was there on that morning was wonderful and pleasant so the rating is not for him. read more

The atmosphere here is amazing. Great staff and a casual yet fancy dining experience. Portions are a little on the smaller side but the quality of the food is amazing. We ended up having the pizza and spring rolls and they were all tasty. Price for the food was a little above average but again the quality, experience and the kind staff all made it worth it. Staying at the hotel for the night so I opted for convenience and ate here. I was pleasantly surprised. Since I was dining alone, I opted to sit at the bar. Staff were attentive and friendly. I ordered the special of the day, the prime rib. It was tender and flavourful and cooked to the perfect med rare I prefer. The garlic mash and veg were tasty and exactly what I would expect from an upscale establishment. If I have to offer any criticism, they didn't give enough horseradish but I'm sure if I had asked they would have gladly supplied more. I couldn't resist treating myself to dessert, new york cheesecake. I suppose I expected house made but it was obviously not, but still enjoyable nonetheless. I left full and satisfied. We stopped here for lunch on our way to Niagara Falls. It's a nice, kind of upscale restaurant almost in the middle of nowhere. They have a nice menu with a wide variety of food and a ton of wine to select from. I ordered the turkey club and added lettuce and cheese to it and got a side garden salad. My husband got the chicken avocado club with a side Caesar salad. We both enjoyed our meals very much and our waiter was also super friendly and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant if you are nearby. read more

Poor service, Waited more then 30 before asked if we wanted a drink. Almost as much time before we were given menus. We were there almost 1.5 hours by the time we were served our meals. Hadn't been here for a while and I'm happy to say we were treated to a very fine example of Italian cooking. I had the Portofino and my wife had the Chicken Marsala. My mussels were a bit over cooked but were still pretty tasty. Service was great and the venue itself was attractive and busy. Waiter was friendly and provided just enough attention. This is definitely on our list of real good eating venues - well deserving of a return trip soon. read more

We ate dinner at Pasto's in 9/05 and it's an unexpectedly-wonderful restaurant on the western outskirts of London. If you're driving on the boring Highway 401, Pasto's is a real "find" and it's right off 401, at Highway 4 (attached to a Best Western Hotel). Pasto's is actually rather elegant inside, which was quite a pleasant surprise when we were only trying to avoid places like Wendy's and McDonald's. The architecture of the interior was also very attractive, as virtually every table has a window seat. Pasto's Grill is a fine dining Italian bistro just off the 401 connected to a Comfort Inn. Usually restaurants connected to chain hotels are not bad but not usually great. Pasto's is outstanding. 4 star dining where you might not expect it. Great atmosphere with just the right distance between the tables so as not to have to listen to everyone else's dinner conversation, which is never as interesting as my own. As for our meal, the Pasta Carbonara was lovely as was the lobster ravioli appetizer, with fresh lobster in a bisque. The citrus chicken salad was also a winner. Bravo to the chef and the super duper and courteous staff. Desert, Dacquiis, which was ice cream and berry sauce atop a chocolate meringue was as delicious as it was ingenious. I'm staying at the adjoining hotel for work and had dinner here. Cute and cozy, clean and inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is mostly Italian with some American/Canadian fare. I had the Ribeye steak and ordered it med rare and it came that way. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and flavorful, the veggies were fresh and well seasoned and the presentation was wonderful. My only complaint is they don't carry lemonade so my Arnie Palmer was a no go. Highly recommend if you're in the area or passing through. read more

I didn't expect to find such a classic Italian restaurant on my way to Toronto. The decor has an antique Italian feel and our waitress was fabulous. The Luna Bologna's was scrumptious and the bistro burger was the best. The honey vinaigrette dressing on the salads was quite tasty. I was tempted to order a pizza to go, but didn't want to over do it. By the time lunch was over, I was praying this was a restaurant chain, so I could have another go at the menu. read more

Found on our GPS because of proximity to 401 on our trip home to Kingston, On.. I was fully prepared to leave...did not want to eat behind a gas station. Well, thanks to my husband we walked in just to "check it out" and what an unbelievable surprise awaited us! If you like calamari and mussels...unbelievably wonderful, tender and so tasteful. And the garden vegetable penne with creamy pestois to die for. And once inside the decor and ambiance makes you feel like you are in a major city restaurant. Only question I have for the chef.....when are you opening a place in Kingston??? We'll be there with lots of friends!! We have had much better experiences at this restaurant however, tonight was not their night. They had removed the only tap that I order from and was left with limited ale choices. The pizza oven was not working which limited approx half the menu. I had ordered the rib steak which had been recommended to me by the owner even though I was some what cynical as this is more of a pizza/pasta restaurant. I had ordered the steak rare and it came out medium well. It was apparently a 10 ounce portion however, it was about 1/2 an inch thick and fattier than most. Normally I would have sent it back but the restaurant was filling up and I knew that if I ordered something else my wife would have been finished her meal. I brought it to the attention of the server who agreed that the steak was way over cooked but I sucked it up. The steak was over sauced and extremely salty, it was really that bad considering it was one of the most expensive items on the menu. The waitress of course, tried to appease us by offering us dessert, but at this point we weren't really enjoying the experience. When we were presented the check, they had graciously discounted it by $7.20 and there wasn't any contact from the manager. It then took an inordinate amount of time to receive the payment device and I had to pay at the cash and expressed my concerns which were not addressed the way I expected after a $95. Meal which included a glass of wine and a domestic draft beer. Everyone has a bad day and the customer experience falls short however, they failed miserably correcting it. They had an opportunity to turn it around just by involving management and perhaps offering some other inducement to encourage my return. We will not be returning due to their lack of customer centricity. It's too bad because they have great pasta and pizza. I hope that Pastos can gleen some benefit from my experience and implement a better customer focussed approach to service. read more

Food was really disappointing so I will start with the positive. Service was decent and menu is what you would find in the typical Italian restaurant. Pizza was ok even though what was listed as prosciutto came as pancetta. Pasta with bolognese sauce was way too sweet and barely edible. Worst of all was veal parmigiana. Poured our own wine, had to ask them to clear dishes & glasses nearby, had to ask for water refills, dessert menus, and contend with staff cleaning & rolling silverware under our noses. The final aggravation was the disappearance of our server toward the end of our meal. When she appeared with the bill, the CC terminal didn't work properly (after 4 attempts) and we had to wait for another to complete the transaction.
