The logo is fittingly designed in a happy looking font and they even have a little happy face mascot. It almost reminds me of Max Brenner chocolates (the bald man) logo. You can get a coffee and cake deal for $6.50, although some of the smaller pieces seem a bit pricey for it's size. The walls decorated in ornate graffiti style with adequate seating out the back amongst all the giant plants sprawled around the place. Wandering down a somewhat unkempt street across from the Epping Coles I noticed a stairway going up to a wooden platform that almost hides a cafe behind it. Honestly, I love the effort that has gone into the design of this place. Somehow you get transported to somewhere peaceful and relaxing (I especially loved and quickly grabbed one of the comfy chairs near the door). The coffee they use here is Campos, so they have a few extra brownie points to start with, and while they were able to extract a fairly good crema, it was ruined with too much milk. This is certainly not uncommon, unfortunately, and likely only an issue for people like me who drink macchiatos. After my second milky dbl of the day, I am feeling a little like a broken record I think justification is in order. For me, a dbl mac is one of the harder coffees to make well. Most people fail immediatly by over espressing the coffee to stretch a single into a dbl rather than making two singles. All this does is stress the bean making the consistency more watery and the flavour more bitter. Then coffee crema comes down to alot of things. The pressure in the machine, the temp of the cup and portafilter and how tight the coffee was packed. Also harder if you use to singles as the first shot might burn the second. Finally the milk. I think when people hear double, they think "large" but it is incorrect. The milk (a dot of froth and teaspoon of milk) performs an essential function of stopping the coffee crema from burning. If you can not see a dark espresso colour at the bottom you've added too much. So why order the hardest coffee to make from unsuspecting cafes? Other than being a bastard, when someone gets it right it is fantastic. It is also a great way to measure the skills of who ever is making the coffee. Anyone can make a cap or latte, as most issues are covered up by the milk. The great thing though is that if they can make a dbl mac well, their caps and lattes will be amazing. We thought we were reasonably lucky when got a seat on the porch area but to our surprise another couple sat at a table behind us that was really close and only really enough for one person as there wasn't any room for the second person. This was a bit unusual. The food was reasonable except a little greasy from the bacon and hash brown looked like had seen better days (so we didn't eat them). The muffins are crispy at the edge, and gloriously fruit-packed in the middle. The varieties of sourdough bread are stunning, and always deeply delicious. Have it as a breakfast treat with some ricotta and jam and you'll smile all day. The croissants are good, too, as are the brioches. Look, if it's breadlike and you can bake it in an oven they do it best here. Their coffee is exceptionally good too. It's warm and welcoming, with tables and colouring materials for kids (it's popular with families). There are outdoor tables for smokers, or for sunny days. Staff are great, even in the face of cranky customers who don't know how to queue properly. Every visitor I've brought here adores it, and asks to go back.

We ordered to eat in, I ordered a skim cap in a mug and the smashed avo with a poached egg, the boy ordered a chocolate milkshake and a Spaniard toastie. The wait wasn't long however we received our drinks in takeaway cups (where was my mug?) I had heard great things about the coffee here so as i took my first sip i was anticipating a brain exploding experience however i received a mouthful of lukewarm mediocre coffee. Then came the food, the spaniard toastie was a toasted cheese sandwich with chorizo sausage and the smashed avo was 2 pieces of sourdough with avo, tomato and feta which i added a poached egg to. The food.. while the toastie was delicious i was a little disappointed with the smashed avo. The name of the dish was smashed avo so here i was expecting a substantial amount of avocado however what i got was a small scraping of avocado on both pieces of bread which was over powered by the amount of feta. While the experience wasn't all bad i will make sure i ask for a hot extra strong coffee next time!

Techno was pumpin & TVs were playing. .. sport duh! With volume down. This would be an awesome place to watch the football and my great coffee & $6 panini will tide me over til I get home. I enjoy going to Bar Sport, it's the next best thing to going to Italy. Owned by Joe, whose brother owns Osvaldo Polletti (see review), it is run as an old time bar. Ordering a coffee means an espresso, if you want to order something else you have to speak up. Joe knows everybody who goes there and everybody's name - if he's never seen you before, he'll strike up a conversaion so that next time you go he'll remember you. He sells fantastic panini (bread rolls) stuffed with provolone and ham. The ciambelli (doughnuts) and canoli are fresh from the bakery. Joe plays all the latest sport on the two TV's and it gets rather crowded if there's a big game on If you've never been there, next time you go to Leichhardt check it out.

I went with my dog in tow knowing outdoor seating was available but with all 3 outdoor tables occupied had to wait a minute for a table to become available taking advantage of the downtime to look through the menu. I ordered the ultimate corn fritters and my mum ordered the wagyu beef burger. I loved the fresh avocado salsa finding myself eating it with every mouthful of the mushy and sticky corn fritters which were cooked really well. I tried a slice of the wagyu burger which was also juicy and flavoursome. Coffee was top notch as well. Food and coffee came out quite quickly after ordering which was great. Overall a fantastic cafe in the 'burbs.
