As her parent, I believe my presence is crucial to her emotional well-being during what can be a stressful, first-time experience. While I was explaining my concerns to the hygenist in the room - Emily, I believe - she said that I was welcome to have the procedure done elsewhere. It was disappointing to be dismissed in such a manner and then to hear the "this is our office policy" as a standard response. I want to find a solution that puts my daughter's needs first. I also want to outline that, as a parent, I am not comfortable having my daughter in a room with strangers while she is semi-conscious. I work in a field where we tell parents NOT to allow their children to be in a room with adults they do not know. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. *Dr. Singer called within a few hours to explain why they dont allow a parent in the room at all. It's BS. Please accept this email as formal notification of Stella's termination of her relationship with ABC Children's Dentistry. For context, I shared my experience on social media, and the platform's power did not disappoint. I received overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and even strangers who all agreed that your "office policy" on procedures is absurd. Parents and people without children alike continued to share my story. I also received the names of six dentists who not only permit but also encourage a parent to be present with their child at any age. I'm due in August, but I can't schedule for it in May? That makes no sense! Not only that, but they treat their adult clients like children. They put us in the big back room with all the TVs playing Bluey. Adults should get their own rooms! But I'm stuck with these people, because I have Medicaid.

Throughout the years there have been checkups, fillings, sealants and a lot of undivided attention to detail. My kids now know the truth, but when they were little, they had no idea that they were administered Novocain "injections".......yes, she's THAT good! They never felt a thing. The atmosphere is bright and clean. You are greeted with an array of colors and 3D adorableness around every corner. The staff is so welcoming with their "hellos" as they escort you to one of the magical exam rooms. Every dental hygienist takes great care and engages with the patient while all along including "mom" in the visit. They are truly fantastic at what they do, and for that I am grateful. I must admit, our favorite is Sue. She and Dr. Champion have watched my children grow up so they make great effort to catch up on the last 6 months in between checkups. Dr. Champion goes above and beyond in her care. I'm always in awe of her. Just yesterday my son reported for his routine 6 month checkup but saw that he had a problem and immediately changed her schedule to take care of him right away. She could not "let him leave like that", is what she said, and she didn't. She fixed his smile so that he could regain a confidence that only Dr. Champion realized was needed. Not only that, she spoke to "him" reassuring him that he could call her at any time to let her know how the repair was lasting. She really wanted to ensure my son "stays" okay. When the braces were…read moreremoved, she had 8 cavities when she went for a checkup and cleaning to our family dentist soon after her braces were removed. x rays also showed root damage and loose teeth. She now needs root canals and implants in the near future . X-rays were compared before treatment and after treatment showing she was perfectly fine before orthodontics were started. She is now limited to playing sports needing a mouth guard and has to avoid foods that might cause tooth loss sooner than later. Never go to this practice.

Yet, I get told I can no longer be seen at that office. Meanwhile, my root canal is now infected due to a temp that keeps popping off and a permanent crown barely hanging on on the other side.
