But, of course, when it's time to eat and you're in a mall, you have to go to the food court. So ... I did. Here comes El Arepazoo, an International Fast Food spot here and I have to be honest ... one of the best spots I've been in a long time. Their food is absolutely amazing. I had the Patacon, a Venezuelan dish that was just DELICIOUS. I had mine with fries and pernil. Instead of bread, your sandwich is Plantains. This dish took me to Flavortown and my son had the arepa sandwich with shrimp. This was a really enjoyable dish. The service is flawless, their turnaround time is amazing and the ambiance was pretty chill for a Sunny Saturday. I will DEFINITELY come here again and try other dishes. This place RULED!

We tried carne molida (ground beef), pollo (chicken), mechada con queso (shredded beef and cheese) and pizza. They were all amazing, very flavorful, not too greasy, not too dry, simple perfect texture and size. The empanada was good as well, but definitely the pastelito is their hit. We had different drinks too (Papelón con limón, Parchita (passion fruit), Mango and Toddy (Venezuelan chocolate milk) and they were very well made, they were like a slushy very refreshing and not as thick as a smoothie, more like a frappé, The place was clean, open, had enough seating and the staff were very friendly.

The food size and portions were huge, super flavorful and even better the next day. Our server was good, but probably could've been more attentive. We were traveling with a little and he very much enjoyed the fun atmosphere although he wasn't a fan of the fresh lemonade. A bit too sour for his taste. But our server was very happy to get us something he would enjoy. Overall, this was a fun place for lunch. Solid seven out of 10. Be sure to check it out if you're in the Dr. Phillips area.

Before arriving, I called to confirm that it would be acceptable to walk in without a reservation and was told that it would. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The server immediately expressed frustration about accommodating a large party without a reservation. We were then directed to a table intended for six people, with the expectation that three adults and the children would share a single bench in an extremely cramped arrangement. When I politely requested an additional two-seat table so everyone could be seated comfortably, the manager's response was simply that we could "take it or leave it." Given the lack of professionalism and unwillingness to reasonably accommodate our group, we chose to leave. We will not be returning to this location.

We decided to take a chance on Mu Restaurant and ordered the Mu burger, pork chicharron, and flan…read more The Mu burger was enjoyable. The chicharron had a great flavor but the "skin" wasn't that crispy and had a chewy texture. The flan wasn't that sweet and had more of a vanilla extract flavor. I didn't care for it. Overall, the food was disappointing. However, the ambiance was very lively and featured live music. The waitress wasn't the greatest. I asked for water, but she gave us a bottle of water instead - which I found out later was $4! It wasn't a fancy brand of water either. I would have appreciated a heads up that there was a cost for water, especially since tap water is usually provided for free at most restaurants. Double check your bill. An automatic 20% tip was added to the receipt (it wasn't disclosed to us), and we were not part of a group.

Ok this has to be my favorite restaurant in Orlando and I loved the food so much. Alfredo was my…read moreserver and he had the best recommendation and I loved it. The empanada came LOADED with shredded beef and this empanada didn't skimp out on quality. It tastes so good when you dip it with the green sauce and it was chef's kiss. I think this is the best empanada I ever had and when I tried other empanada, it doesn't even compare to this. I ordered another dish but I forgot the name and it's soo good. I was a little disappointed because the menu said pick 3 sides and I chose all beef. Alfredo didn't mention to me that there would be an additional charge for the beef. As a result, I had to pay an additional $10 which was very pricey and didn't find out until I received my bill and saw the charge. I didn't make any complaints because the employees seem not to speak English well and it's hard to be a foreigner trying to adapt to the culture and the language. But this is soo good and I can see why the reviews on yelp are all stellar.

I live close, so have come here quite a bit over the year…read more Pro- Just got renovated, so it looks pretty. The staff is nice, and the food is good. They also have lunch specials, which is nice. Cons- There is ALWAYS a weird perm smell when you go. It literally smells like someone is perming their hair, so not good. Another con is sometimes it takes long to get your food. And last but not least, I think their prices are not reasonable lately. Some of the prices do not match their menu, not sure when they raised their prices but I have never ever heard of a patacon costing almost $26 anywhere, and I frequent a lot of Venezuelan spots. Their name went from Q'Kenan restaurant to Q'Kenan Steakhouse so maybe now they just raised all the prices, I don't know. Their most expensive patacon on the menu is the one with Picańha and it says $17...yet I got charged 25.90. Regardless of how good something is, there shouldn't be a $9 difference from what is on the menu. That is absurd. On my last trip- $43 for an empanada, tequeńos and a patacon just doesn't sound right for Venezuelan food, and I come from living in Miami where restaurants are supposed to be more expensive. Add a tip and you're paying over $50 for street food. That's wild.

Food quality was mixed: The Combo #1 arepas masa arrived too hard and chicken and beef fillings too dry. Speaking of which, the sauces we paid for as add-ons were not included [we ordered 2 and received 0]. The empanadas masa was tasty, but filings were also dry - again, if the sauces we ordered would've come with our order, perhaps our review would be very different. The cachapas masa was waaaaay too sweet. With less sugar in the masa, they would've been perfect. The cheese was bomb - delicious. Tequeños were the best of our entire order - hard to mess up fried cheese sticks! "Steak and sausage were made for sauce" - verbatim comment from my husband about the Parrilla Mixta Venezolana.
