    Goodies for just MX$76 total!

I stopped by Pastelerias Esperanza as I came across the shop after finishing my day tour and while walking back to my place. The shop is modern, attractive and full of people. It also showcases many pastries/goodies in the front (clear windows...so you can see the traffic/all that the shop has to offer. You can self help and pick any items you want and pay at the cashier. They do have a variety of selection of pastries, bread, cake, etc, so...you are bound to find something you want. I was in a mood for desserts and got 4 items: cakes and donut. The prices were quite affordable, too! I got all of them for just $MX 76 total and they were packaged well! The only one star was just that I think their desserts are too sweet for my taste. I get that the desserts were meant for sweet tooth, but I found all of what I got a little too sweet for my taste. Otherwise, if you are going for other pastry items / bread or are just a real sweet tooth person, this is a good place to check out for sure!

Pan con coffee, specifically all-kinds-of-different-pan con coffee is the idea of the day at Pastelerias Esperanza. We stopped by one lazy morning for some deep, dark coffee and all kinds of different pastries. My favorite is their chocolate donut. The chocolate in Mexico just tastes better, a little darker, a little less sweet and a perfect topping for their friend dough. Whatever your tastes, Pastelerias Esperanza has so many different goodies, you're sure to find something you like. A sweet stop in the middle of CDMX!

I stopped over here for an early lunch today. I had been here before a couple of times because the bakery cafe is located right smack in the middle of the historic downtown area. This bakery/ cafe is super specialized in all baked things, including every type of pie, cake, and pastry that you can think of. And even some you can't! I am a big fan of their conchas and canista pastries. They don't have many tables inside, and I believe that most of their space is dedicated to the shelves and shelves, and coolers filled with their delicious products. Today I decided to go for something different which was the croissant with pachuga de pavo, which is basically a turkey croissant. I also went for the the large cafe Americano which itself cost only $24 pesos! Most other cafes charge upwards of $40 pesos for cafe. This place was extremely busy when I came in and I was lucky to find a small table on the side. My order was prepared fast, and I appreciated their attentiveness.

Love the adorable interior! Had the fig tart and berries tart, both of which were so pretty!

Just 5% of the desserts available. Grab a tray!

Fantastic range of desserts! And very inexpensive. Yummy! You enter here for the first time and wander in wonder at the huge array of delicious desserts. Those in the know have large trays which they pile high with yummy desserts. You must visit here if you like dessert.

I had to take a picture before eating it.

Great place to get your sweet bread on. The only down side is they do not have any empanada filled sweet bread.

We have been twice. It is fun to see all the pastries and jellies and cakes. Everything tastes as good as it looks.

You select what you want, pay, and then pick up your order. Their cookie selection is immense, and they sell them by the pound. I ordered two boxes at half a pound each. The cookies are delicious (think Whole Foods cookies, but better). For sweet bread, I only chose six pieces since they don't travel well on a plane, but wow... the quality was outstanding and the variety is incredible. Service is quick and cordial. The place itself is an old bakery with amazing lighting and original floors from the 1930s. If you're in CDMX, this is a must stop.

You're supposed to grab a tray and tongs then take what you want to the cashier. The place was so large that I didn't bother grabbing a tray because I just wanted to look at everything first. I ended up getting a corn muffin my friends grabbed a few things they didn't really know what they were, just grabbed what looked good. My corn muffin was ok., it was moist, dense, and had real pieces of corn in it. I tried some of my friend's raspberry baguette it was also pretty good. Dense baguette and tasty dried raspberry's and some nuts maybe walnuts? My other friend got some bread thing with sugar on top. It was a bit dry and not very buttery. I didn't care for that one. There was a whole gambit of baked goods to choose from, donuts, bread, cakes, pastries, even sandwiches. We tried asking what they were known for, no one seemed to know. So I guess there's no specialty. Prices were very reasonable around 15-22 pesos maybe some were more depending on what you chose. I found it to be a good Mexican bakery but not as refined as a French bakery. I guess you gotta find what's good and what you like. Unfortunately I didn't find that item yet.
