We sat at the back between the counter and the kitchen - more private but less pleasant that sitting by the window or outside (those seats were taken even though we arrived before 9am).
The service was prompt and efficient.
I had a Mille-feuille (they call it Mil-Folhas) - it looked slightly the worse for wear, like someone had dipped the end of their nose into the icing. However, the pastry itself was very delicate and flaky in contrast to the slab of creme patissiere in the middle which although tasty, had the consistency of mashed potato.
Their Pastel de Nata are famous in Warwick for having the crispiest, flakiest pastry imaginable - it's like each flake has been individually caramelised, great compliment to the luscious custard filling.
The Eggs Benedict was ok - so much Hollandaise that it swamped the runny egg yolk, which for me is the best part! Also, I wish the bread had been toasted. read more
