They kept coming back for more and my cousin said it was the best flan he has ever had. For my mom to love it was a big deal, as she grew up eating flan in her Mexican household, so I wanted to offer her an authentic experience... Flan Flambé surely delivered! Vanessa and Alec truly care for their craft and have excellent customer service. They even took the time to attempt a mini vegan flan for me to sample, the flavor was incredible, and I am sure they will perfect the texture in the near future so they could add it to their menu! It's little details like this, where they truly care to cater to as many people as they can that really matters. Flan Flambé-ed Flans are all sweet, style, rich flavor and flair, the crème of the creamy!! The owner dropped off our Flan at Seaport Village. It was beautifully packaged for Valentine's day, and she wrapped it prettily in red-and-white string with a tag with my name on it! The Flan was heart-shaped and made with the utmost love, care and precision. This dessert topped a rich, smooth chocolate cake, with a coating of miniature heart-shaped flan cut-outs, generously-sized strawberries and raspberries each dipped decadently in chocolate and placed upon the cake with the deft skill of an artist's eye. ...And, to top it all off, this gorgeous Flan was dusted with flakes of edible gold!! It was truly a rare work of beauty, a diamond of the first water, with the most decadent and rich flavor to match!! I had never tasted a flan set over chocolate cake before. The raspberry filling really brought together moist cake and creamy Flambe for a whole new level of sweeeeet. I savored every bite, really a superior Flan!! But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself!! The owner makes every size and flavor of Flan you can imagine to satisfy your most stubborn sweet craving. Bring one of these sweet creations to any send-off, soiree or celebration and you and Flan are sure to be the evening's stars :)

That's what got me in, as I probably wouldn't have noticed this place otherwise because it's in a small section of the mall next to seafood city & goldilocks! They have a wide variety of pastries and desserts here but make the bread fresh in the back. I got 1 ube cheese bread, 2 ube bolls, and 1 pan de sal for less than $5. First bite of the fresh bread with ube filling was just what I wanted. I definitely would come back if I am in the area again! Parking in the plaza is easy especially on the Joann's side. There are only a few ice creams choices, but a plethora of sweet baked goods. I wish I could try one of each. We settled on a half scoop of vanilla for Freddy and a conch for me. The conch was perfectly baked, soft and slightly sweet. It was so good I almost forgot to take a photo. The place smelled divine immediately when you walk through those doors. Once you enter the store, you might think you entered the wrong storefront. When you walk in, the decor for the name of the place now says Canton Bakery by Meta Sweets in a more modern, whimsical font. Everything is pink. There's nothing wrong with pink but it doesn't match. The vibe inside feels like it wants to be a modern cake/bakery shop rather than a traditional Chinese bakery. Maybe it was or maybe it will be? A variety of char siu baos (BBQ Pork Buns - steamed or baked), coconut bread, chicken baos. No pricing which I'm not a fan of. We ordered 4 baked BBQ pork buns and 2 coconut bread and the price was more than the 1 order of wings we got next door at Royal Mandarin. The bbq pork buns were kind of dry, at least the bread was. The char siu was good though. I wish they came warm or they would ask if we wanted them warmed. The item to get though is the coconut bread. Soft fluffy bread, delicious filling. They could increase the filling for a better ratio. Come for the coconut bread! I was leaning towards 3 but am bumping to 4 stars.
