Pasta Remoli is one of a handful of places that have popped up around Finsbury Park tube as part of the area's rapid gentrification. And this one couldn't get much closer to the tube - literally right by the Wells Terrace exit it's hard to miss (at least until they close that exit as threatened). The restaurant's hook is its simplicity - you choose your type of pasta, then your sauce and then, if you're feeling adventurous, you throw some cheese on top (parmesan and pecorino for free even). There are pros and cons to this approach - I was a fan; I got the type of pasta I wanted (whole wheat, perfectly al dente) with the sauce I wanted (arrabiatta, just the right type of spicy) without any compromises. The cons are for people like my friend who went for the filled pasta and then struggled with her sauce choice. Perhaps some suggested pairings - particularly for the filled pasta - are needed for the culinary challeneged amongst us. The specials board branched out a little more and all sounded good. The counter of desserts looked, frankly, amazing (if overpriced but the mains are incredibly reasonable for London) but you did have to go up to choose them. I'm lazy, this seems a good way to not tempt me with dessert. However, they sell these from early in the day and are helpfully placed in the window - considering I walk past every morning, it really is only a matter of time until temptation bites. Service was friendly, with perhaps a few kinks to work out - took a while to get our bill but otherwise all good. Conveniently located with good, simple cooking; this is on to a winner. read more

Relaxed pasta restaurant near the new theatre. You select your pasta and sauce separately, which suits me well because I can get gnocchi with whatever sauce I like. I had the gnocchi with tomato and ricotta sauce, that was great. It's much more pleasant to hang out in than the (deservedly) popular pappagone up the road. read more

This place is a great neighborhood restaurant. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. The pasta is cooked al dente, which is perfect for me, if you like it a little softer ask as I am sure they will accommodate. The bolognese sauce was good but not great, it was too sweet for my tastes. The pesto sauce I could eat all day, perfect flavor. The concept of the restaurant is very cool as you can buy pasta and sauce ready to cook to take home as well. Truly a unique place. read more

Inside it's very casual, colourful and oozing a relaxed environment. Just what you want on an evening after work! The artwork on the walls reminded me a lot of Udderlicious in Islington and I wonder if they share the same artist. We were shown to a very comfortable table at the back of the restaurant which was great for watching the place as it filled up - which it did very quickly indeed. We hadn't planned on having starters but when we heard that they have an onsite bakery we figured we should definitely give the bread a try and oh go on then, I've always wanted to try burrata! Everything tasted so good we finished off every mouthful. I've always been a mozzarella fan so was intrigued to see how the burrata fared against it and oh my god I think I have a new favourite cheese! It was so creamy and delicious and practically melted in my mouth. I'm salivating just thinking about it. The parma ham that it came with was also very good and the two flavours worked well together. The bread was also really good especially the focaccia which was salty but in a very good way. The way Pasta Remoli works is that you pick your pasta, either plain or filled, top it with a sauce of your choice then add some cheese too if you're feeling naughty! Everything sounds amazing but I couldn't resist the lure of the spinach and ricotta ravioli which I had topped with basil pesto. When our plates arrived I thought the portion actually looked quite small but after the first mouthful I knew that I was going to be stuffed to bursting and I was right. I ate every single bit of that gooey filled parcels of pasta! Pasta to me is the ultimate comfort food and this was perfect. read more

Pasta Remoli is a cool place, definitely different from what I am used to here in the United States. My boyfriend and I stopped here on one of our last nights in London and really enjoyed the place. I liked how we got to choose our own pasta and our sauce separately, that way I could try something different. I forget what I ordered but it was delicious. There are two sizes of plates you can order, which through me off at first, but the regular size portion is satisfying enough. The only complaint o really have is that we were served by two waiters, who both took our orders at different times and seemed to not know what the other was doing. Other than that, I had no issues. The restaurant also has a little shop you can look around and take things home if you'd like. I definitely would have if I lived in the area. read more

This restaurant has just opened and I am really proud to share with you this review. I am 100per cent Italian and usually I try to avoid Italian places in London but this is just amazing. The pasta selection is great, fresh and authentic... For sure there are details in the service that can be improved but the staff is really friendly and the manager looks after the guests like a big "Italian mamma" (although he is actually a man). Do not be afraid of the Italians screaming in the kitchen, the food quality will let you forget this. I just hope this project will not end up like any other standardised (boring ) chain. Popped in here for a pre-theatre meal. The service was really fast and very friendly too. I had a delicious Aubergine & Roasted Tomato Ravioli with an Authentic Amatriciana Sauce with Salted Ricotta on top. It was very good and cost about £10. They have a good pre-theatre deal too and most of my friends took that. It is pasta, sauce and topping with a mix bruschetta starter for £10. They had no complaints. I'm back in the area on Friday for another theatre show and I'll definitely be bringing my partner back. read more

Went here with my boyfriend about 10 days ago on a Saturday night, it's right on the exit of the Finsbury Park tube station (Wells Terrace side) so super easy to find. My problem with Italian restaurants (most of the time) is that if I choose pasta (not pizza) then I often find it overpriced, great think about Pasta Remoli (which doesn't sell pizza), is that it's really reasonably priced all mains (filled or plain pasta) including the sauce (they price it separately) is between £7 - £10. It's so easy to order and although the menu isn't vast, there is still enough choice, the place is selling on simplicity, good, simple, fresh food. We had cocktails the Aperol Spritz and the Campari Spritz, having never had a Campari Spritz before I cannot compare it, but it was lovely, light, refreshing a good complement to pasta. For desserts, they make everything fresh that day, they are laid out at the front of the restaurant so there is no actual menu but our waiter was able to tell us what they were without us getting up (definitely a plus). My boyfriend and I initially ordered the traditional tiramisu and the strawberry tiramisu, however, we were told they had run out, the manager came up personally and told us and suggested some delicious replacements a ricotta cake and a delicious fruit tart, I am not a big pastry fan but this was perfect, for the trouble they even gave us free Limoncello. We paid at the counter seemed super simple we had the table number they had left the 2 tiramisu's on the bill when we pointed this out and told them what desserts we did have, they said they wouldn't charge us for them as it was their mistake. One thing to improve on would be having the desserts written down, a menu or board would be a great addition, we were lucky and had a waiter that told us what they were but if I was told to go and look, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Overall a really pleasant experience, the staff were attentive, the only 'error' with our meal was more than duly compensated for, definitely somewhere I am going back to. It's so easy to get to from the station when they eventually close the Wells Terrace exit for refurb, I sincerely hope they are established enough that is doesn't affect them. I think we waited long enough for them to iron out the kinks in the service that the other reviews have reported. read more
