Wow! We got to meet Greg Horn! And a super sweet Victoria. We chatted with some cool guys at the front counter and spent a lil money...... We were lucky to get notice of this rare event and more lucky to have had the chance to stop by (twice in the same day!). We live closer to the davie location and have been there a few times. This one is much bigger and had a very good collection of Cards , toys and of course comics. We can't wait to go back again.

So many options!

Short story: Extremely uncomfortable, and employee was unhelpful. Walked in and only employee was…read moresleeping on a recliner with a dog next to him. Walked out a few minutes later after yelling at said employee for literally hitting another dog and yanking it by its leash to hit it further. Long story: I walked into Excelsior looking for a comic book on the way to run some errands. Once I stepped foot into the store I noticed a man sleeping on a recliner, with a dog sitting next to him (a small black and white mixed Chihuahua). The man (employee/manager?) acknowledged me by opening his eyes, and then closed them again to seemingly go back to sleep. After looking at the wall for the specific comic (Captain America Steve Rogers #3), I suddenly heard and then saw another dog barking (a grey and white Chihuahua) behind me. Not bothered by it, but confused why the man wasn't doing anything to stop it, I continued browsing the wall. I turned around in the direction of the dog barking once I heard the man stand up and suddenly grab the dog. Thinking it was more of a gesture to put him in a cage to calm down, I thought nothing of it. I asked him if he had the comic I was looking for and suddenly I heard yelping and the sound of the man smacking the dog. Even worse, the dog had already stopped barking long ago, and the man continued to smack the dog. I began walking in the direction of the man to confirm my suspicions when suddenly I heard a smack and then a snarl from the dog. The man had just gotten bit. He pulled his hand back and went to smack with the other when I called out and asked him, "what's going on". He froze, mumbled something incoherent under his breath, and at that point the first dog that was sitting next to him on the recliner began to bark as well. He lifted his hand and started smacking the dog on the recliner as well. He told me, "He just copies what the other does..." He then told me to pick up his iPhone that had fallen on the floor and hand it to him (a call was coming through). He answered and began mumbling greetings that even I being two feet away could barely understand. At this point I was ready to leave but I was frozen in a state of being uncomfortable and scared for the dogs. I tried talking to the man further, and realized he wasn't even responding to me anymore. I walked out, with no intention to ever return.

Any comic book store that has as much enthusiasm for Aquaman as this place deserves my…read morerecommendation. My girlfriend and I walked in on a whim during their grand opening. Unbeknownst to myself, they had a sale on Aquaman ("You know you love his trident," the billboard outside read), so I ended up grabbing two TPBs. The owner was super friendly and outgoing, telling me how much he personally enjoyed reading one of the volumes I was purchasing. I always try to spot board games when I go into comic book stores -- something this place doesn't have, but it's still a great source for comics in Lake Worth that I'm very excited about. Plus, you gotta love a name like "Excelsior!"

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in this bookstore. I was really shocked when I saw how…read morelarge it was. It seems like the aisles kept going, and there was a huge back room full of more aisles of books, And they have a nice section of comic books also which was cool. I thought the section for comic books wasn't as large as I was hoping, but still cool, and I had plenty to go through. Also there is a case with some rare ones also. The staff was really friendly and helpful. My husband found a really cool Star Wars item there he was happy. They also have a small selection of collectible toys. Went walking around more and they have children's book section with vintage books, I had when I was a kid definitely had to take one home. The prices are very good here and reasonable. If you're a book lover, this is definitely a good place for you. You will be pleasantly surprised. If I were in the area of North Palm Beach I will definitely stop in again.

If books and reading are your passion this store is a treasure trove. Book Exchange and Comic shop…read moreis a maze of shelves of books labeled and arranged by topics like history, children, mystery, paranormal, non fiction, biographies, art, romance, reference books, and my favorite genre, true crime with a label that looked like it was written in blood. Some of the books looked old and rare. I recognized Hardy Boy books back from my mothers childhood stash. There is also an entire room filled with collectibles and comics. I didn't need any help but the friendly gentleman running the store that day was at the ready to answer questions. Hard and soft cover books are half off whatever they are priced at on the inside cover. They had a great election of Agatha Christie mysteries which are always a favorite. In a time when so many independent book stores have gone under it was a pure delight to discover Book Exchange and Comic Shop. The intoxicating smell of the store is familiar to anyone who loves books. You can order books online but there is something so satisfying about going into a bookstore and holding the books in your hands as you make your decision. Visiting this store is a great way to save money as you add to TBR pile.
