Lunch combo

Indian restaurant within an Indian grocery store. Lunch special comes with two or three entrees as well as rice and naan. There are different entrees out on the board depending on the day. The lady who works the register is super helpful if you are unsure of what you would like to order or if you haven't had Indian before. A super great spot to grab lunch or takeout. I enjoyed everything I ordered and it was a perfect lunch portion for me. I would absolutely stop in here again.

Ordered: Chicken Tikka Masala- comes with a side of basmati rice. Paneer Naan I have been visiting Witchia for the past 4 years and always visit this restaurant. Overall, great staff, clean restaurant, and good food. The restaurant is within a shopping center, it does look a bit run down. Don't let that stop you from trying the food! Chicken Tikka Masala was pretty good - tender chunks of chicken pieces in light cream curry sauce. Much thicker than I have had before; yet flavorful. The Naan is made with paneer (cottage cheese). Inside is cozy and clean. They play various Indian music on the television, it is neither loud nor distracting. The size is perfect for large groups or date nights on a budget depending on what you like. They do offer spice levels, so spice it up if you like. Portions are small, where the meat could share for two, the rice would not. Tip: The cost was $18.22 They have a vegetable specialist menu option. White meat is only available in Chicken Tikka Masala and Kebabs Doordash is an option Although limited options they offer an all you can eat buffet. It includes ice tea for $10.95 on weekdays and $11.95 on weekends, 11 am - 2:30 pm Ig@ the_photoblogger

First of all, let me say that I was strongly tempted to rate this place one star but ultimately decided on two. The second star was for the pleasant server and the fact that the food didn't actually taste bad. I just left wondering if the lunch buffet cooks have ever actually eaten any Indian food before. 1. The baingan bharta on the buffet tasted very good and would've been just fine had I been wanting French onion soup because that's what it tasted like. The only difference was that the bread and cheese on top was replaced by chunks of roasted eggplant. 2. The navrattan korma also tasted good. It was the closest thing I've had in 25 years to the creamy vegetable soup I used to get from the deli of the small vegetarian grocery store across the street from the men's dorm during my freshman year of college. The only noticeable difference was that here there was a noticeable touch of black pepper to season it. Too bad there were no Indian seasonings that I could taste in it. 3. The dessert was the most disappointing--the biggest disappointment being that it looked so bad I didn't even want to try it. I really enjoy gulab jamun and almost never pass it by whenever I go to an Indian buffet. Today's buffet featured gulab jamun syrup minus the gulab jamun. It was just sliced store bought sandwich bread soaked in gulab jamun syrup.

Skimped sauce

Everything is watered down burnt and taste like dirt do not go here... I travel the country and this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had eating Indian food they are trying to rob the locals with these products

Passage to India, lamb madras, garlic naan and chicken Tikki marsala with basmati rice
Kim N.

The ambience is a little out dated. This is more of a casual sit down dinner. Nothing too fancy. But the food was delicious. The lamb madras is a sweet curry with tender pieces of lamb. The chicken Tikki marsala was a bit more savory. This really all paired well with the light basmati rice. We also had garlic naan and butter naan. Which both were light and crispy, and great for dipping into the curries we had. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars bc there was maybe 5 pieces of meat in each bowl. That's not alot considering each bowl was about $13-$14.

Very good food. Lots of flavor. The best service with minimal staff. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Deshi Curry: A Hidden Gem of Authentic Bangladeshi and South Asian Flavor…read more If you are looking for your standard, run-of-the-mill Indian buffet, Deshi Curry isn't it--and that is exactly why you should go. While it serves familiar Indian favorites, this restaurant is operated by a wonderful Bangladeshis who bring the distinct, rich flavors of Bangladesh and Pakistan to the menu. We've visited twice now, and it has quickly become a favorite. The Standout Star: A Unique Palak Paneer We ordered the Palak Paneer on both visits, and it is a must-try. Unlike the heavy, cream-and-spinach versions you find at most Indian restaurants, Deshi Curry serves a traditional Bangladeshi-style version built on a flavorful tomato base. It's light, vibrant, and incredibly distinct. The App Feast: A Festival in Your Mouth The appetizers here are an absolute masterclass in texture and flavor: Pani Puri: A literal festival in your mouth. They are perfectly crispy, sweet, and tangy all at once. Aloo Chop: Savory, comforting, and beautifully spiced. Pakora: Perfectly fried and deeply satisfying. Chotpoti: A phenomenal, traditional dish featuring a blend of chickpeas, cilantro, potato, and fresh cucumber, topped with a boiled egg and served with a tangy tamarind sauce. It's refreshing and complex. The Entrées & A Tip on Spice Levels Over our two visits, we sampled a wide array of mains. The shrimp curry and the fish curry combo (featuring perfectly cooked tilapia served with a side of comforting lentil soup) were absolute highlights of coastal South Asian cooking. The Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala were both rich, creamy, and delicious. A quick note on the spice level: On our first visit, we ordered the Butter Chicken "hot," but it leaned closer to a mild-medium. On our second visit, the Chicken Tikka Masala had a bit more kick. It seems the chef is a bit reluctant to overwhelm diners with heat, so if you truly love high spice, don't be afraid to emphasize that you want it traditionally hot! The Verdict What makes Deshi Curry truly special is the warmth behind the food. After our second meal, we had a delightful chat with the owners and learned about their Bangladeshi roots, which explained why the flavor profiles here feel so fresh, unique, and deeply authentic. If you want to step outside the standard culinary box and try exceptional, home-style Bangladeshi and Pakistani cuisine, give Deshi Curry a try. You won't regret it.
