Easily the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. The doctor took time to explore some unusual symptoms I've had and helped me understand what was causing them and how to address them. I say most because the one lady working by the glasses , she made me feel extremely uncomfortable, no smiles no good afternoon nothing just stares and i felt like she would try to just eavesdrop on everything every one would say to any one else. When I tried on the glasses, one lens was extremely overcorrected, and not in accordance with the prescription, it was very uncomfortable. When I mentioned this, I was told that I should wear them outside for a week and see how I adjust. When I told them that I was leaving for school upstate, they actually checked using the equipment and saw that the prescription was completely wrong and they said needed time to fix it. I almost went away to school without them. I have never had this kind of experience, and I've been purchasing glasses for two decades. Two years later, the coating started coming off in the middle of the lens and the smudge from the coatings make them basically useless. I have tried to ask the front desk on more than one occasion for help, but they are purposefully rude and do not make eye contact even though I am standing in front of them. I'd say come here if you delight in bad service and wasting your time. I have glasses I purchased 13 years ago from the Grand Concourse that still work and have intact coatings. I have to switch to those until I can purchase glass etch and take the coatings off myself. read more

Sweet/caring understanding doctors. I've been coming here for years. HOWEVER, the group of ladies up front have no customer service skills. They look at you and continue to chat amongst themselves about hair color and fixing themselves up until finally they will say "are you being helped?" I went in to get my eyes checked and get new glasses and I was super happy with the service I got. The doctors explained everything to me so that I could actually understand what was going on with my eyes. I never really understood eye health before this visit (and I've been going to the eye dr for nearly a decade). Then I was told that it would take about a week to get my glasses in but I had them in 2 days! Couldn't ask for a better experience! read more

What a great place! Everybody was so nice and professional. I would recommend this business highly. I was in and out very fast but recieved a full exam with a dr. who explained everything as he went. I walked right in and had a comprehensive exam (I was referred to a specialist for suspected keratoconus). Dr. Weitz is a genius and a caring, attentive doctor. He also called my dad spoke to him for like an hour about my simple condition. I came to see Dr. Weitz Jr after my eye had gotten inflamed from wearing my contacts too much. I came in without an appointment and didn't have to wait long at all before I got to see the doctor. He was so helpful, and took the time to make sure I didn't have an infection, or any other underlying problems. He also checked my prescription to make sure I was ordering the correct strength, and even recommended a brand of contacts that will be more affordable than the ones that I currently use (which are really expensive). He wrote me a prescription for eye drops to help the inflammation of my eye, and by following doctors orders, my eye is much better. The staff at this office is all very friendly & welcoming, and they speak Spanish and English fluently. This office really caters to people who need eye care at an affordable price, and it's great that they accept walk-ins. Definitely come here for your next eye exam. read more

I've come here for years now. And the work was always "ok" service. But as of these last years I've come to hate this location. Their receptionist are not only slow at their jobs but I find them to very RUDE. All they do is talk instead of work, and the last time I went in with my mom. She only speaks Spanish. She came to a receptionist to explain her reasons to her visit. When they were questioned by a staff inside they started to explain something completely different to My moms reasons for her visit. It seemed that only were trying to cover their asses! I am bilingual so I understand both languages. Why have a clipboard to write your name down to pick up frames if you don't go by the clipboard. I waited 20 mins to be called before walking out, there was no one else's name on that clipboard. I wrote my name down had a seat 15 mins passed someone walked in and asked for her frames and was taken to the back immediately. Meanwhile the staff in the front are just sitting there eating chips. I found the office on a google search in need of an Optometrist ASAP. I was able to see one of the doctors within 15 minutes of waiting. The practice does not take appointments at all which I thought was interesting. They operate just like premier care, but for eyes only. Everyone was very helpful from the moment I walked in to the minute I left. I walked out with a free trial pair of contacts, a 6 month supply of contacts and my glasses will be ready next week!! The doctors are great. I've been coming here for 20 years, since I was a kid but today was my last time. The front desk receptionists are not helpful. They were hanging out and one even walked out. I had placed a contact order an hour before and when I walked in to pick them up I was told to sit down and wait. I had received a call that they were ready and instead of the lady going to the back to get them for me , which would've taken 2-3 minutes, I had to wait 30 minutes. Very disappointing. read more

The eye doctors are great. Very patient, caring and helpful. However the receptionists/ front desk girls are BEYOND rude. And not just one or two girls BUT ALL OF THE GIRLS. They're all extremely young and don't care to help you or even translate. I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I hadn't had vision exam since I was probably in elementary school (like a million years ago!). I work for the city and decided to finally use my GHI benefits once I learned that vision was also covered under my UFT benefits. My first visit was about two years ago and I was extremely happy with my overall experience. The office is right on 5th Ave in Sunset Park and easily accessible via subway (R train) or a bus stop that is seconds from the office (B63). I am awful at keeping appointments and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are a walk-in clinic (score!). I will admit that the office can get pretty packed and you may have to wait to be seen, but the service you get from the doctors is exceptional and well worth it! I learned so much about eye health in general, had all of my questions answered, and got a super cute pair of glasses- slight prescription only for distance. The doctors truly treat you like family! I just went back for a check up today and was happy with my experience. I also fell in love with their selection of sunglasses- I got a great deal on a pair of designer glasses so it was a no brainer! I highly recommend going to Paskowski & Weitz for all of your eye health/vision needs! read more

Worst customer service!! As I waited for one the workers to acknowledge me ( all the ladies were having conversations with each other not work related). Five minutes passed and the lady behind me skips me and gets one of them to assist her. I expected professionalism and dealt with rudeness. I do not have Vision Insurance. Just a discount plan. I checked the Optometrists in the hood and this one popped up. They take walk ins, which is great. I had great service: the receptionist is very courteous and walks you through all the process, regardless of one having insurance or not. The optometrist who saw me was very thorough. Asked questions about clinical history and eye history. He suggested these soft contact lenses. Having been wearing gas permeable for decades, I was a bit concerned. However, when I tried them on, I was sold. I love the lenses. Also, like the fact that the Optometrist made the prescription for driving. I have perfect sense of depth, which I didn't have before because one of my contacts was supposed to be for reading. I do need drugstore glasses for reading, but, it is not a problem. I love the contacts and I love the fact I can see and read the names of the streets again. The reading glasses, no biggie. You can get a decent pair for a buck or two at any dollar store. I recommend this place to everybody. The prices are reasonable and they are not pushing you to buy. They work with you and accommodate to your needs. Great eye place in Sunset Park. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for such a long time, but now that I have time I am. I called over the phone to try a book an appointment for a specialist on lasik. I was greeted very cordial over the phone by a girl who's name is Diana. She quickly transferred the call to the "girl who deals and knows best" for the specialist. When this girl picked up the phone she did not tell me her name and picked up the phone with a simple "*SIGH* how may I help you!!" I informed her that I wanted information on how to go about lasik, she sounded like she was in a rush so to quickly spare my time I booked an appointment. I arrived at the office and was greeted by a tall girl in pink with long hair that asked me in which way could she help me. I told her that I was here for the specialist she quickly looked through the stacks of files and could not find me, she turns to a shorter girl with blonde hair and ask if "Clari was back from break yet?" I REMEMBERED THE NAME THEY SAID BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO KNOW WHO IT WAS. The girl said if I had given my information over the phone so that she could simply look through the book to make a record for me, I said no the girl who I spoke to did not ask me anything. She apologized and began to ask me for information, by that time it was getting very loud and packed, I quickly apologized and told her that it was fine and I would come back another time. Sincerely I will not be coming back because of the lack of profession. I feel bad for the two wonderful girls who guided me and greeted me so friendly. That's the reason why I even remembered their names or how the looked because they weren't the problem , the problem was the girl who did not bother to make a file for me and have it ready. If she doesn't want to be there then why work there? The other girls all seemed so friendly and would like to praise them all for being so cordial. I've been going to this office for about 7 years or so and I've never had a problem except today. My mother bought me a new frame there a couple of years and this year I decided to change the lens because they were scratched. I went to pick them up today and I noticed the tip was burned off. I told the doctor that adjusted them about the damage and he was very condescending and dismissive. He kept saying that it was normal wear and tear that comes with old frames. I told him no. I know what my frames looked like and that was not there before. He literally said "well it's your word against mine." I don't pay $200 to have my frames damaged and to be talked to like that. I've been wearing glasses since 2nd grade so I know how to take care of my glasses. These are not my first frame. These are my favorite frames and I've highly taken care of them because I don't often find a frame I like. He made no attempt to fix my issue. Never going back there again! read more
