This is a great place with fast honest reliable service. I came here after Wally at Wally Kennedy Automotive stood me up and the auto store recommended Pasillas. They got me right in and installed a new battery. They are honest, too, and did not try and sell me the more expensive battery, but the lesser expensive one and explained that it had a better warranty. They are very reasonably priced. They also found a nail in my tire and patched it for only $20. I will be coming here for my car service option! They were also honest about telling me I did not need an oil change even though I requested it. I've had two outstanding experiences at Pasillas and will tell you up front that I'll never go anywhere else. The first experience was after I got a nail in my tire, and a well-known tire place in Santa Cruz told me it was too close to the sidewall to remove, and I'd need FOUR new tires because my car has AWD. (How financially and environmentally egregious! I wouldn't have bought AWD if I'd known that!) So instead of a $20 charge I was looking at almost $2000, which i could NOT afford. I had the guy put the spare on and I drove to Pasillas on my sister's recommendation. It was crazy busy, with nowhere to park, but the owner came over and got someone to hep me immediately. Turns out the nail was NOT too close to the sidewall. It was well within the legal area, by at least an inch, and just needed a patch, which they did for FREE, even when I tried to pay. Yes. The second experience was when a piece of broken pottery got stuck deep in my tire (why me, seriously) and this time I drove straight to Pasillas. Same thing--no appointment, crazy busy folks, but David helped me within minutes. He assured me there'd been no puncture--he even took off the tire and floated it in water for bubbles, just to be sure--and there'd be no charge. All I had on me was $3, but even after that lousy tip, he asked if he'd like me to check the air in all my tires, since that one had been a little low. In fact he insisted. Again, FREE. But what meant even more to me than saving the money was the honesty, the integrity, the quick, warm, respectful attention, and the knowledge that I was getting all these important things while supporting a local, family-owned business. My dad taught mechanics, and started a roadside assistance club, and fixed cars long after he got an administrative job, and I know he would've been so impressed with Pasillas. He'd have told me "they're the real thing," a compliment that always covered quality and character. yesterday my daughter in law had 4 new tires i stalled at Pasillas. after she was told her car was done she started driving off the lot. she felt her car ver shaky. she immediately started back into the driveway when one of the tires fell off the car. luckily she made it into the driveway. she went back into Pasillas where she talked to the owner who told her he can't keep an eye on every job. she was was not only shaken up but treated rudely by the owner. 5hey put the tire back on and told her everything should be good now. Wonderful customer service to begin! They told us where to park in order to get all 4 tires replaced with a new set. Original price was set at $80, it took about 2 hours for this service to be performed because 1) jorge was assisting other customers 2) the tires I originally had on were run flats, this made it difficult to remove the rim from the tires. I wasn't notified about the trouble Jorge was having until he got to the third tire and his manager disclosed to us that he would charge us an additional $5 per tire for the difficulty of getting the rim off the run flat tires. So the new total would be $100. When the third tire was finally put on, I did a walk around to see if they damaged the rims and they definitely did. Instead of notifying me about not having proper equipment to remove run flat tires without damaging the rim they continued to do their work and damaged all my rims. I should not have paid for this service, for the damage they did! The car was a recent purchase for me and the rims were not damaged at all to begin with. I trusted this business to take care of me like the reviews and comments I've read but it was the exact opposite. Damages were made to all 4 rims and I was still charged the $80.00 and all I got was a "sorry, it's because the run flats made it hard" from Jorge. I love supporting my local businesses but this reminds me of why I shouldn't anymore. read more

Read the reviews and take your chances. I honestly believe all of the reviews are accurate. You just have to decide if you want to take a gamble at which experience you are going to have. Fifteen years ago, we received great service and now I believe it is because we "knew somebody". January 2018, we came back and received 4 brand-new, 65K, AWD tires with an alignment at a good price. At our first tire rotation service, they broke two bolts and replaced them with mismatched bolts because they "don't carry the factory brand," and "it happens all of the time." They didn't bother to let me know about this, I had to discover it by myself. Not a big deal, but not great. Less than 9 months and 16K miles later, I get a nail in my tire. Two independent tire shops said they 1) couldn't fix the tire because the nail was in the side and, 2) the tires were already worn to 50%. So I bring them back to Pasillas. Ladis fixed the tire and said they were only worn to 60%, but he'd check with the manufacture to see what type of rebate I could get on a NEW set of tires. I never heard back from him. At this point, I figure it's just bad luck and I'll have to count my losses. Then this January, I hit something on the freeway and the same tire that got the nail, bursts beyond repair. So I go back in and speak to Ladis. He measures the tires, says they are 2016 (so they were already 2-years old when he sold them to me: six is the recommended max. life in case you were wondering) and that he'll call the manufacturer and come back out to me with numbers. After about an hour of waiting, I walk in and he says he'll need to call me with the price. (Gee, thanks.) He leaves a message at 6:45 at night with no numbers. I call back several times (it's always difficult to get through and there is no way to leave a message). I finally get a hold of someone only to be hung up on when I say who I am. I purchased 4 new tires elsewhere and was told the old tires were worn to 40% front, 50% back...they were only 1-year old! Perhaps that's what happens when they put "new" old tires on your car. Life is too short to be treated like this. So read the reviews...I'm sure they are all accurate. You just need to decide if you want to take your chances or not. Good luck. read more

The thing that I love about them is that they have never treated me like an idiot for the sole fact that I'm a girl - like all the other auto shops do (read my review on Calderon's Tires, jerks!). The guys at Pasilla's are very friendly, and the service is quick. Sometimes its really busy, but thats understandable since I'm sure everyone loves them. Their quote for tires was cheaper by over three hundred dollars out the door than all of the many places I called. I live in San Jose but it was worth the drive. They ordered two different types of tires for me to choose from. Ladis is the gentlemen who was assisting me and he was very friendly and he did not try to change the quote. In fact, he actually gave me a free balance and alignment!! These guys hustle and get the job done fast despite the crazy amount of business they do. They use every available space on their property to work including the parking lot! The owner told me to come in at 8am to install my four tires. I was there at 8am and then he told me to be there at 11am because the tires haven't arrived yet. I was then there at 11 and then he told me it would have to be at 130 or 2 til I got my tires. I was bothered because I asked him why he didn't call me both times since the tires weren't available at the times he told me ti be there. Then he had the audacity to tell me he told me I needed to call before coming to check if tires were there which was a lie. Owner is liar and will never do business there again.
