**FANTASTIC TURKISH CUISINE** **A PLACE YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ** ONE OF THE BEST WAYS What's a great way to search out, and experience exciting and unique ethnic restaurants? Well, Yelp of course! That's why we're all here, sharing our experiences, right? But hands down, one of the best ways to get the down-low on one of these ethnic establishments, is to speak with individuals who hail from that respective country. So then, when six different friends and acquaintances of Turkish ancestry, all informed me that I needed to visit Pasha, I knew I had to search it on Yelp, and get my ass over there, to see what all the fuss was about THAT MAGIC TURKISH GRILL When entering Pasha, the first thing you'll notice is the open style kitchen, and that magical grill, right next to the spinning gyro. And I'm really not sure if it's the way Pasha prepares their meats, or if it's something special about this grill, or the grilling technique itself - hell, maybe it's all these things. But what I do know for sure, is that anything placed on this grill tastes and smells absolutely phenomenal. And so what this all means is, even something as simple as a plain grilled chicken platter, will be one of the best things you've ever stuck in your mouth. I promise. YOU HAVE TO ORDER THE.... Every individual that recommended Pasha, insisted that I had to order the Iskender Kabob Platter, the Adana Kabob Platter, and the Lamachan. And all I have to say about these recommendations is - holy shit! They were right! The Iskender, is lamb doner gyro placed on top of a chopped toasted pita, that's been drizzled with seasoned melted butter. And then, the lamb is covered with a savory delicious spiced tomato sauce, along with some toasted spicy green horn peppers, and Turkish yogurt on the side of the dish. Without a doubt, this is a must order at Pasha, and everyone that has tried it with me, went absolutely nuts after the first bite. For goodness sake, one person after finishing the entire large dish, even ordered a second one to bring home. The Adana Kabob is a mixture of minced lamb & spices, formed into a kabob and then grilled. And after being cooked on that magic grill, it smells outrageously good, the meat is tender, and just a little spicy too. Without a doubt, you have to make a sandwich with it, on the fresh baked Turkish bread that comes with the platter. Last but not least, the Lamachan Turkish pie is a round thin flat bread, covered with minced lamb, beef, and spices, which kind of resembles a thin personal pizza. It comes with sliced fresh tomatoes and onions to place on top, along with lemon to squeeze. So then, what you do with it, is add the extras, squeeze some lemon, fold it in half, and have a party in your mouth. WHAT ELSE IS GOOD? - The chicken grill platter is the best, most flavorful grilled chicken I have ever eaten. - The mixed grill platter, allows you to sample all the different grilled meats, such as the lamb, lamb gyro, chicken, adana, and kofte - all with that fantastic grilled flavor. It's quite a large serving also. - The Corbasi Turkish lentil soup is great on a cold day. - Definitely try the fresh baked Turkish spinach or cheese pies. Flakey and delicious. - Order some Baba Ganoush with a few olives, and a toasted pita to dip. WHATS REALLY SURPRISING With my description of how fantastic the food is here, and how everyone just loves Pasha, you might assume it's a large fancy restaurant. But what's really surprising is, it's a tiny little place, sporting four small tables, and a few isles of Turkish groceries in the rear of the joint. On top of that, you wouldn't be out of line, if you suggested it looks a little dingy inside. But I'll tell you, all of these factors fade away into the background, when you're greeted by the friendly family that takes your order, and then you stick that first bite of terrific Iskender in your mouth. SO WERE MY TURKISH FRIENDS CORRECT? Pasha is not the only Turkish restaurant that offers Iskender, Adana kabob, and Lamachan of course. And so in my travels, I have ordered these dishes at other restaurants, hoping to get that same delicious flavor. But sadly, while I did enjoy what I ate, it just wasn't the same. So yeah, my friends were 100% correct. And so in turn, if you take my five-star recommendation here on Yelp, give Pasha a visit - and order one of the suggested dishes - I'll bet that you'll think I'm correct also. read more

Food was good. I was expecting the gyro to be more like the gyros I get in Astoria however it had a little fat on it. I think that's it's a little different since it's Turkish. The Turkish bread was sooo delicious. read more

Disrespectful!! I've been coming here for a few years and I've never received a warm welcome, but I was satisfied with my customer service. Today not so much. I called ahead, I waited in my car for my order to be ready. When it entered the establishment there were a few ppl inside eating and a few wandering and picking up additional items. I'll mention that I was the only single woman, I was also the only person of color. No one was at the counter. As I stood waiting for the person behind the counter to acknowledge me, he called to the person waiting for an order that it was ready. He then asked my order, I told him I'm picking up my order already placed, I provided a list of the items. He turned behind saw my order; by this time the person (seemingly white male) he called to has come to the counter with an additional item. The person behind the person proceeds to ring up both items. I'm still standing there waiting to collect my items and pay. A gentleman (seemingly white male) had since come to the right of where I'm standing. He's collected a few additional items to purchase. Instead of being polite and waiting to be acknowledged he asked the guy behind the counter if his order is ready. Reminds the guy of what he ordered and the guy behind the counter then proceeds to ring up his items. I've been told that chivalry is dead.. these two gentleman and the person behind the counter are definite examples that it is. Distasteful customer service. I told the guy behind the counter to keep the food, since he thought it was ok to bypass me twice. I'll take my business elsewhere. I hate to think of my treatment as racist or sexist, it was definitely one or both. I'll never return. It's obvious that my money is not important to them. I'll invest in other establishments in my community. read more

I stopped in yesterday to pick up some cold appetizers The Baba Ghanoush was outstanding I also picked up some freshly baked Turkish bread which was equally outstanding. I will be back to try their Gyro as it's not your typical ground meat but actual layers of beef and lamb. They practiced safe covid protocol read more

Great food! This is a great take out place so it isn't a place we're you would impress someone with the atmosphere of the decor. I have eaten in many Turkish places and very much like all the food. This place has the best lamb Gyros. All other places food-wise end up getting compared to this place. The owners and staff are very friendly. If your going To pick up I highly recommend calling your order in ahead of time. All the specialty foods are made to order. Though they do have great food ready to be served if your looking to get something quick but don't want fast food. read more

Was in the area and decided to give them another shot, I am glad I did, went around 4PM on a Monday evening, got my gyro platter the way I could remember it! The meat being so tender and juicy full of marvelous flavor! The rice tasting so fresh and tasty as well! Washing it down with the last Mango nectar they had makes it taste even better lmao. I wish the food was like this everyday because I would eat here more often! I love when their food is perfect like this.. must be a hit or miss because it's really like day and night. Today was a great day! I wish I got an extra platter to eat later tonight lol read more

The parking is horrific. So park in front of the animal hospital & walk down to the store. I've been here a couple of times & have gotten something different each time. The Adana & Kofte on pita has great flavor. The lettuce & onions crisp & fresh. Good prices also. The baklava has been lackluster. read more

Very reasonable price for best quality foods, And very friendly service generous portions

Small Turkish eatery/ grocery store serves basic fare. First off, I tried to order my favorite cold appetizer, the eggplant in tomato sauce and they were out of it. Needless to say, that got me aggravated. Ordered the Adana kebob platter and the lamb shish. Both lacked in spice. The bulgar rice though was good as were the accompanying pita. My other gripe was they only serve lahmacun as a platter with three of them. We only wanted to split one as an appetizer. The staff was helpful and prices are low but I have to say this isn't my favorite Turkish restaurant. Also note, good luck parking, it's the tightest parking lot. read more

My husband brought home some food from here for dinner and it was really good! We got the falafels and hummus for appetizers and I kid you not the best falafels I've had! For dinner we had the mixed grill everything was good except the gyro was a little dry for my liking... We also had the chicken Adana which was delicious! Our meal was overall very good and we will be coming back for more! read more

Love it. High quality food doesn't take long, large portions and the entire staff is friendly and makes everyone feel welcomed. Much better then all the fake trucks and little shops around. I love this Turkish place, definitely one of the best! I have tried other Turkish places on Long Island, and they are nothing compared to Pasha. I always get Chicken Iskander, with no yogurt. It's so amazing, and creamy.. Other places usually make it very watery. There is just so much flavor in this dish. It's a tomato based sauce, with chicken and bread. Amazing. Parking in this little parking lot is crazy. So much things going on in all directions. & they really don't have an amazing seating arrangement. I usually just order take out from here. read more

I finally found a local place that serves Turkish food!!!! My husband told me about this place. The humus is great, eggplant with tomato sauce is good, babaganush is fabulous, it's a small place with a few tables and chairs to eat there but it's more of a take out place. They also sell some Turkish items (coffee, sweets, etc.). Te woman who worked there when I was there spoke a little English (I think she was the owner). Se seemed very friendly and was happy when I told her I visited Istanbul 4 1/2 years ago. I'd love to go back and take my husband there one day (my BFF) lives there. In the meantime, I can come here to get a quick craving of Turkish food! The only downfall is the parking. It's in a strip mall with other stores and the parking sucks! read more
