I have past experience in On-Boarding new employees. And I truly believe in a positive Day-One or Week-One experience. I was excited during my first days, and as I continued the week it became dull and trying; because I had to find myself a Trainer, ask if other people were Trainers only to find out a lot of them were in the same position as myself and having that same unnecessary problem. Now what I do feel is this... I feel that PTL needs to have a liaison to bring together the Trainers to meet with the newly hired drivers. This needs to be a weekly practice and the company needs to make a big deal out of it (as part of you Day/Week-One Experience). And not just have 4 Trainers in place for 13 Trainees to choose from... the odds are not good everyone will have a Trainer . And then the comment is made... okay these four guys are Trainers... so go talk to them and see if you want to have them as your Trainer. What I suggest and propose is that a liaison is in place to be a bridge and make this a smooth and pleasant experience. Let's say on a Thursday or Friday the company makes sure that all available Trainers are routed to the terminal where they must take a required minimum 2 hours to meet with Trainees/Upgrades/Refreshers so that they can get a feel for one another. Also for the Upgrade Drivers, have them there also so that they can meet other Upgrade Drivers and Trainers to possibly pair with. There is no worst feeling than settling and being unhappy. This is your life and career and you represent the Company... the success you will have reflects on the company (Good or Bad). Now no company is perfect and I'm just 1 grain of sand on the Beach... but wouldn't it be nice to listen to a suggestion from some of your Frontline Employees? So far so great! Effective communication is key and patience is virtue Dispatchers and Planners have their job to do and it is moving freight! As an OTR driver, this Company has been great to me I asked for an increase after explaining my aggregate experience and got it next pay period. Not a company for experienced drivers. It is a good company to gain your experience and leave. If you are not training. Then you will be making warehouse money. Regardless of the fact it's the type of money you'll be making solo elsewhere. Front staff is pretty cool guys. Dispatchers will try to use forced dispatch on you. Had to contact safety supervisors and management for them trying to do so while I refused to team drive with a new trainee for safety reasons. Get your 6 months of experience and leave. read more

i am a former driver for this company that was a driver trainee last year lost my mother did not really have time to grieve returned to work immediately. was released and told recently if i want to come back i have to wait 90 days july 31, 2019. i wish very much to return to this company, i have past experience. need to work again as a driver not a trainee. read more

A horrible company to work for. I went to work for them earlier this year. Pay was horrible dispatch tried to force a load on me in a area I've never been to before, Delaware and New York and I told her I don't go east because I've never been and she kept trying to force it on me then I forcefully didn't accept it. They close on the weekends and will stick you in that state until sometime Monday when they get in. read more
