Super clean and super friendly people! We got our two year old kitty from them today and we will always look here first from now on for animals!

Another wonderful animal sanctuary! Good variety of cooking classes, and we left with wonderful, healthy recipes to try at home. The goats are so sweet! Gift shop items are a little pricey, but it is for a good cause. There was plenty of parking when we got there. They have compost in addition to the trash and recycle bins which is great! One thing I might suggest changing is making the restrooms fragrance free so more people can experience the sanctuary. Their directions in their email were very helpful and easy to understand. I highly recommend taking a tour of the shelter to everyone. Plus all of the animals are looking for loving homes, so bring friends with yards/farm land! :) Thank you Pasados!

We just took a vegan cooking class here and had a lot of fun. This is not a restaurant but they have plenty of cooking classes and one that jumped out to us was a vegan cheese class. They did four types including cheesecake, Mac and cheese, a cheese spread, and a nacho cheese. All of them were good and it's always nice to know how to make them on your own especially since cheese trends to be a hand thing to give up when people transition to eating more ethicaly. Side note- They seem to take great care of the animals

This safe haven in one word is: COMPASSIONATE. I went on a tour back in December 2013. I literally cried my eyes out hearing the animal's stories and how much they suffered at the hands of humans. The tour offered delicious vegan chickn strips and field roast with a delicious gravy. The tour bought my journey of veganism full circle. Hopefully people see how much animals suffer for the sake of humanity's appetite and change how they persee animals -- and not just companion ones we keep warm at home.

When I read the reviews I was taken by surprise, then I looked at the dates and noticed that most of these horrible reviews were from 2 years ago. My experience was quite different so if these were true I can assure you this is not the case in present time. To make a long story short I recently started fostering a Foxhound from Pasado's. Chuck was one of 72 Foxhounds that were rescued partly from Pasado's. These dogs lived in terrible conditions and were neglected and abused. Chuck will never be a "normal" dog but I'm sure going to work with him and make him the best he can be. Pasado's has spent thousands of $$$ rehabing these dogs so that they can be placed in home. If you have ever been there the place is huge with so many different animals all from different situations. It probably cost a fortune to keep things up. To give you an idea of how much these people care, for me to take Chuck home it wasn't as easy as going in talking a couple hours and walking out with a dog. It took about a month for the process to go through. First off I was interviewed and they explained what I was getting into. Then I was introduced to Chuck and I came to visit several times so he would get used to me. Pasado's came to my home and did an inspection to make sure Chuck would be safe at my home. The day of arrival to my home Chuck was checked by the vet once more and lightly sedated so he could make the trip to my home. They provided me with food, 2 kennels, a harness, and collar. They never once asked for any $$ from me. They were so happy that I was opening my home to him. I have personal cell phone numbers that I can call at anytime if I have a problem or question. This hardly sounds like an organization that doesn't care for animals and are using funds inappropriately. As for Rio, I can't answer to what happened and why. But I can tell you that there is always two sides to a story. Unfortunately, there are people out there that stretch the truth to make the story more shocking. And I would never listen to what an unhappy employee or volunteer has to say. Maybe Pasado's was cleaning house and decided that some people no longer fit in with the program. In closing I highly respect the people at Pasado's and what they stand for. I'm so happy to have Chuck at our home. Please consider adopting your next pet from them you won't be sorry. And if you have been to Pasado's and had a great experience please share it here. Susan

I adopted a kitten from Pasado's and couldn't be happier! She came from a hoarder home so the beginning of her life was rough but the awesome team at Pasado's rescued her and her siblings and gave them the medical care they needed. She is now very well adjusted in her new home :-) THANK YOU for saving her life!

They have put a lot of thought into providing the best care for dogs; music in the kennel room, private rooms for dogs that need them, prioritizing special needs dogs getting into foster homes and out of the kennel environment They even go above and beyond by spending time training dogs and puppies in their agility room. Their social media pages follow a few of the same dogs which just shows the dedication the members at Homeward have to maximizing the amount of people to see their adoptable pups. The quality and the passion truly show at Homeward. I am grateful for my dog and the people that took such good care of him at Homeward when he was there.

I've been to several shelters in the past year to adopt and it's been up and down. I went here on a Saturday after work and brought home my fur ever baby girl. I'm a proud happy fur mom . This is the happiest day of my life . I cried so many tears of joy when I was able to adopt my new female dog. I named her Sasha. Previously known as Oldsmobile. Sasha is the absolute sweetest girl ever. Sasha is what my heart needed. As a puppy she is very smart. Introducing to crate has been fairly well. Eating wow this girl can eat, run, do sprints around the house, yard and is super excited. I am too lol. Potty training is going very well in the morning she wakes me up with kisses to say she has to go and stands by door we go out. We have a routine. Totally recommend Homeward Per adoption to everyone. You will never be disappointed. The accept donations from you if your pet has passed away, been surrendered or you just want to donate, food, toys, supplies for dogs and cats. Well, I could continue to give praises all day. Gotta go mommy duty is calling.

My partner and I recently fostered a dog named Max through Regional Animal Services of King County,…read moreand unfortunately our experience ended in a way that has been extremely difficult and upsetting. We first encountered Max months earlier while showing a home to clients. He appeared severely underweight and in poor condition, so we contacted Regional Animal Services to request a wellness check. The owners ultimately surrendered him, and wanting to help, we later signed up to become foster volunteers so we could give him a chance to recover in a safe home. During the week Max lived with us, we experienced him as a very sweet and gentle dog. As he began to settle in, his personality really started to come out. He loved going on walks and would wiggle with excitement when he saw his leash. He also got along well with our resident dog and showed no signs of aggression in our home. When Max developed signs of an ear infection, we contacted the shelter and were asked to bring him in for a veterinary visit. Upon entering the shelter, Max clearly became nervous. And during that visit an incident occurred, and he was placed into quarantine. We were later informed that due to his decline while in quarantine, the decision was made to euthanize him. This outcome has been heartbreaking for us. We stepped forward to foster Max because we believed he deserved a chance to heal and eventually find a loving home. In the short time he was with us, he showed us a kind and affectionate personality that we will never forget. While we respect that shelters must sometimes make difficult decisions, the way this situation unfolded has left us feeling deeply saddened and frustrated. We wish there had been more communication and consideration of the dog we experienced in our home before things escalated to this outcome. Because of how this experience was handled, we have made the difficult decision that we will no longer volunteer or foster through this organization. Max deserved compassion, patience, and careful evaluation. We will always remember the sweet dog who came into our home and quickly became part of our daily lives. He deserved the opportunity to continue healing and experiencing the love he had just begun to find. See more of Max here:

She was overlooked at the animal shelter because she was cowering in the back of her cage, was droopy from having nursed puppies and she is a black dog. Her mid-section firmed up and she gained confidence and really blossomed with the security of her foster home. She is an incredible dog, cute, smart, and is very expressive. Dealing with Tamera was the one of the top 5 worst experiences I've had in my life…read more This is a SHADY rescue that I DO NOT recommend! I can relate to all of the other negative reviews. When I called to inquire about adopting a puppy Tamera sounded as if she cared. She seemed knowledgeable & acted like she cared about the dogs she was putting up for adoption. After I agreed to adopt the puppy she asked if I'd like to also adopt the older male dog that was her kennel mate. I agreed. It all turned bad after I put in my application & provided many photos of my home. She quit calling back when she said she would. She then moved up the date to meet for pick up. She explained that the male was getting neutered & said I could get the pups on Saturday instead of the original day, Sunday. She told me she would text last night to give me a meet up date/time. I was up late last night & was wondering if I was even going to get them, because she started being horrible about getting back to me & just kept telling me "I work 18 hours a day." I had even offered to drive to Auburn from Ocean Shores to pick up the pups. She refused & insisted we meet up. After failing to text me last night she finally texted this morning & provided a place to meet up & gave a time of 4:30 pm. Just as we were walking out the door she called to change the time to 6 pm & informed that the male is infected with "Coccidia"...a worm. I wouldn't even have been able to see the dogs at 6 pm at night! She took the male in to be neutered on Friday knowing full well he was infected with a parasite! She stated that she had been treating him for 3 days & then said "the puppy doesn't show any signs of it, but I treated her anyway." My roommate was present, I was on speaker phone, so he is a witness to EVERY conversation. She was informed, during the interview, that we had just had to have our chi/mix that we had for 10 years put to sleep on 12/7 due to cancer of the lining of her stomach. Well, a puppy can EASILY get dehydrated & die from Coccidia! If these puppies had died, I would've been EVEN MORE devastated, because I just lost my beloved dog. What I'm really wondering is why she didn't tell me 3 days ago? My roommate finally said "enough is enough, there is something wrong with this rescue, call & talk to her & if she doesn't offer to make this right just cancel." I was so excited about getting the pups! I had so much time, money & emotions into buying their supplies, setting up for them, getting the food she recommended, etc. I was staying up late nights stressing about everything to be all prepared for them. I was watching updated training videos & had invested a lot. I can't even return the food, or the expensive crate (she told me to get a larger one than what I originally ordered). When I called to discuss this with her she didn't even apologize, she YELLED at me & was so unreasonable! I have text messages for proof. She told me that she was "transparent" with me. If she were transparent she would've been HONEST about the dog being infected with parasites 3 days prior to today! I have a genetic autoimmune disease & my immune system is compromised due to the meds that I take, I told her that during the interview. Some types of Coccidia can be transmitted from dogs to humans. Changing of times, failure to contact me on many occasions, were all understandable. HOWEVER, HER FAULURE TO BE HONEST ABOUT THE HEALTH OF THE DOGS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE! When I called her I expected professionalism, I thought she might apologize & offer to hold the dogs until she was sure they were cleared of the parasites... No, she immediately got agitated & YELLED at me! She then admitted that the puppy had some loose stools & when I asked, she informed that they had just been rescued 2 weeks ago. I had adopted my Chi/mix from a rescue through Petfinder, previously, & it was a wonderful experience, so I didn't expect any issues. I will definitely be researching any rescue I work with after this NIGHTMARE! She doesn't have the pets welfare in mind, because she told me not to take the puppy outside until she was 7 months old & her immune system was fully developed. Yet, she put a 3 1/2 month old puppy with a 1 year old Chi/mix that is infected with parasites! If you read the other reviews, her neglect has caused dogs to die from Parvo! Then, she sent nasty texts lying about everything that took place & had the nerve to say "good luck adopting a dog." Tamera is ruining it for people who want to adopt to save animals lives & provide loving homes because they won't be able to trust rescue agencies after the emotional roller coaster she puts people through. Then she is emotionally & verbally abusive after all of her failures to simply be honest! Why is she allowed to work in this field? She should be charged with animal cruelty & neglect! In fact, I am calling the police & I am going to research every animal protection agency I can to report her!
