I later discovered that they were sampling all different wines every hour! It's probably for the best that i found out when i did, or this might have turned into a full-on wine review page.. Vino Crudo is a wonderful little shop that I will be directing all of my friends & family to from this day forward. This is not a liquor store, it is a carefully curated specialty wine shoppe, that if you give a chance, will most definately deliver. They have masterfully selected a collection of natural & organic wines from all over. While It is true that the wines sold reflect the owners taste; they are skillfully chosen. I liked to think of the experience as a guided tour through the world organic wines, with an expertised advisor leading the way. I loved all of the samples owner Luigi offered, with not a bad one in the bunch. In fact, i was willing to purchase 2 of the 4 choices on the spot! I even contemplated purchasing a 3rd. See? I told you it was a good thing I didn't know about the revolving taste test or i would have surely bought more than I could carry. His palate; like mine prefers bold & aromatically fruity, but not sweet & ever so slightly dry, but not too dry. This shop is the only natural organic wine shop I am aware of that is not online, & their wine selection is carefully curated. The shop has a hearty online presence through FB, Instagram, Yelp, as well as many other wonderful write-ups & for good reason. I would 100% return and recommend this shop every chance I get. FYI: They offer regular free wine tastings every Friday. BONUS: They are hosting a Wine Class on Sept 6th 2025 (that's in 2 weeks) at Elm Ridge Park in Rocky Hill from 4 to 6. He gave me some suggestions and pairings for wines I could try and wines I could gift. I learned that Vino Crudo has recently opened and they carry specialty wines that are low intervention, natural wines. There is also a wine membership so definitely ask about that! They are located in Old Wethersfield and there's definitely lots of traffic here. I am so happy they opened this area. Can't wait to try what I got today!

Clean and organized more so than Sav-rite in north haven. If you had to decide between the two stores, take the ride to Cheshire and frequent this place. They go the extra mile and present the customer with something more appreciative than what most other big box liquor stores can replicate. I sampled the -196 Beam Vodka Seltzer by Suntory. It's a wonderful tasting product w fresh fruit not artificial. originated in Japan and is here now. Only 2 grams of sugar and has 6% alcohol volume. You need to try it if you haven't yet. Wonderful product to take the beach or pool area. Their selection of beer is very impressive. They have the regulars, along with a lot of micros. Plenty of variety for any of your likes. The store itself is rather large with a good selection of beer, wine and spirits. Prices are competitive. They have Frank who does tastings in the store who can help you find something or answer questions. Plenty of parking available.

I just wanted it quickly so I could make things in time for holidays ( tinctures). I spent almost $50! To ship two bottles. Because it's alcohol, a signature was required for delivery . Which would have been fine, but on the day promised , I was unable to be home at the required time. Long story short ( is it too late?) Those bottles disappeared. No-one seemed to know where it'd happened , but it is certain that they went missing under fed -ex's care . I spoke to several reps, several times and was told the shipper would have to resend. Roberto, (the owner ? ) and I spoke and he agreed to resend the order. He could have chosen to simply refund me, as he explained that this was a somewhat common occurrence because it's alcohol . And some people suck. Also , the companies that ship alcohol suck too! Fed ex! UPS! Both of these major companies have employees that steal/ lose alcohol and seemingly it's just chalked up to a loss. If fed ex is listening , contact me and I'll give you the information for the route my package took, because one of your people is responsible for its disappearance!! I felt terribly for Roberto, who has to now go through the hassle of trying to recoup the loss from fed ex. Even though I won't likely be in Connecticut to shop at La Vinotheque anytime soon, I can easily endorse the character of THAT small business . Since this package store is only a few miles from my Mother In Law's place, I know I'll be dropping in often for more wine purchases.

There is a separate room for cigars, coolers for mixers, and smaller shopping carts. The guys working kept offering help, but I shop by price point so not much to look for. On the plus side, they do have multiple price points from $10 for a bottle to over $100. They also have coolers of beer in the back. Selection is otherwise predictable, prices seem okay. Ice is available in a cooler outside.
