My friends and I went to make a purchase and were denied due to one person in the car not having their ID on them, even though the Texas TABC regulations state that only the buyer needs to produce a valid government ID. Not wanting to make it a big deal, I left and came back by myself only to be denied my purchase once again. From the official Texas TABC website: (see photo attached). I don't buy liquor that often but I love the spiced eggnog. They had the one that I have bought the past few years at Party Stop but at Party Stop it was $9.99. I don't know if it has gone up in price this year. In Pinkies I saw a bottle with no price anywhere near it so I asked a clerk and was told it was $17.99 so I passed. I walked around for 5 or 10 minutes scouting out the territory. I saw a bottle of Ouzo so I asked that clerk if day by any chance carried Retsina, a Greek wine. I really wasn't expecting them to have it but the girl did look it up and told me none of the local locations had it but she saw signs that they had had it in the past. Darn it! I asked her how long ago and she said she didn't see any sign that they had carried it for the last couple of years which means I could have come in prior to that and they might have had it. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I have not found it anywhere in town although the choices are limited since the only stores that sell liquor are the designated liquor stores. I did happen on to some Manischewitz and Morgan David brands of wine so I bought a bottle of Morgan David blackberry for $5. The store is prices seemed on the high side so I probably won't go back unless I'm looking for something specific that I can't find anywhere else.

I didn't need anything expensive. When I asked the clerk about a couple of specific items he led me straight to them and knew what I was talking about when I mentioned specific drinks. I was impressed that they carried Ouzo, a Greek liqueur that tastes like licorice. That can be hard to find even in larger cities. It was about $20 for the bottle which was fair comparatively but I didn't get any because that wasn't what I was after today. I was after the spiked eggnog and they did have it and it was either inexpensive or on sale I wasn't sure which. Either way the price was right. I also wanted an inexpensive whiskey and he found one for me that was under $5. That's all I needed so I left happy.
