    A Touch of Elegance was nothing but a disappointment by Denise (Owner) our event executer…read more When reading this review, please realize this was written to help other brides and people who deserve an amazing event planner/executor for their special day. We hired a Touch of Elegance to ONLY execute our designs for our wedding in September 2019. I (The Bride) worked with the owner herself, Denise, who agreed to take on this project. I gave her specific details and instructions on how I wanted key aspects of my wedding to come together which included: putting up a photo backdrop which I designed, placing all tent cards in order on the backdrop, assisting with gathering family members for pictures during cocktail hour, making sure the banquet hall was ready (table numbers, reserved seating, guest gifts) for photography before guests arrive, setting up the memory table, the autograph table, and placing signage. We also had a surprise swing dance number for our guests and I had a dress change, so that is the only thing that she helped us with correctly. Please see the images attached regarding how each part was executed INCORRECTLY as there was not enough room to write it all here sadly. We gave Denise a Call regarding feedback Being the "Hospitality Power Couple" (name given by our family and friends) and myself for receiving a degree in graphic design and hospitality, we were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Learning of some of the issues during our wedding, after our wedding, learning much more from family friends, and the staff of our hotel venue about Denise was hard to take in. Unfortunately, we had to call Denise to ask how she felt our wedding day went as we wanted to hear her side of the story. The best way to sum up the call would be that it showed us who Denise really is. She kept telling us "She DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME". Our first thought was, if you did not leave yourself enough time, why not bring in more of your staff to help you. We placed our trust and faith in her as she reassured us many times everything will be wonderful on our wedding day since we were over organized and too detailed, but it shows that no matter how OCD you may be, it can still be executed WRONG. With Denise knowing all this taking place during our wedding, we feel we wasted our money as we never planned to have an event planner execute our designs but my now husband convinced me that she was worth it. Sadly, we were wrong, and we paid for it as we DID NOT RECEIVE A REFUND from Denise. From one business owner to another (founder of my graphic design company and a nonprofit), I was also DISAPPOINTED that she DID NOT CARE TO CALL us for our feedback. I had to reach out to her to set up a call. As an owner, I would want my clients to be honest with me about my work, my work ethic, and how I am as person when working with clients. I am always trying to be better for my clients, and I hope she does the same going forward because I will never recommend her to family or friends after this experience. I hope Denise learns from our wedding on how not to treat people and their guests when hosting an event. My biggest hope is that she does not cause any of these problems for anyone else's event going forward as no one needs more stress on a big day like their wedding or any special event for that matter.

You and Amy were so prepared and organized and went above and beyond to know who we are and what we liked before the wedding. That truly came out in the music and the event and we cannot thank you enough. Even during the hora you reassured me that "I got this" I was so scared but you definitely helped me get through it and it turned out AMAZING!!! The DJ (Dale - an extreme professional at his craft) not only provided musical contributions, but also served as the evening's MC who kept the whole evening right on schedule! Everyone was too busy dancing and having fun to worry about when it was time to cut the cake, when it was time for the first dances, when it was time to do this or that - but Dale kept things moving! MEANWHILE, never once was the dance floor empty because of Dale's excellent song selections! Additionally, Amy Yassinger was in constant contact with us from the beginning planning stages right up to the service and reception. She was available to us throughout the entire process as well as the day of the wedding. During our initial meeting, she came across as kind, professional, and fairly priced. We planned to use both her planning and floral services, and we signed our contract in December 2023/January 2024. However, as a very organized, detail-oriented bride, I quickly became concerned with the quality of service provided. Communication was inconsistent and often unprofessional. Emails would go unanswered for several days or even weeks, and only after following up via text did she tell me that texting was her preferred method. This left me feeling that our wedding was not a priority. The few meetings we did have were inefficient--typically focused on a basic checklist easily found online--and often conducted via Bluetooth in her car, without note-taking. She frequently forgot details from prior conversations, which created frustration and resulted in me doing extra work to keep her updated. On several occasions, she also ended calls early for various reasons. While I understood that summer is a busy wedding season and she needed to prioritize weddings taking place sooner than ours, the level of support still felt inadequate. At the four-month mark, we reached out to begin floral planning as originally intended. The quote she provided was significantly above the budget we had previously discussed. When I requested a revised proposal within budget, she said she could not do it and instead sent two alternative florist names. With only four months to go, I suddenly found myself searching for a new florist entirely on my own. I had four separate meetings with new vendors--a stressful and unnecessary burden that should not have fallen on me, especially given that floral services were part of what Allana was originally supposed to handle. As we approached the 60-day mark, coordination issues continued. Allana missed a scheduled meeting without acknowledgement, and we still had no sense of a wedding-day timeline. With final vendor meetings approaching, I asked to meet and express my concerns and request additional support. To my surprise, she acknowledged her lack of involvement and offered to find someone else to take over, stating she wanted to avoid any "awkward or uncomfortable" feelings. I had hoped to resolve the issues and move forward together, not to have her withdraw from assisting so close to the wedding. With only 45 days remaining, this was alarming, and we ultimately accepted her offer to transition the planning to someone else, recognizing this as a sign she would not be reliable or trustworthy in the final stretch. I am giving two stars because, in the end, Allana connected us with Barbara Vanni of B Weddings, who stepped in on short notice and handled everything with exceptional professionalism, organization, and care. We are truly grateful for Barbara's support, and I will be leaving her a positive review separately.

    We were on the hunt for a one stop shop for decor for a small backyard party during Covid-19:…read morelights, furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. This turns out it's harder to find than I expected unless you go with the big time players like Kehoe that was a bit pricier than I wanted for this particular party. I loved the rustic look of the furniture Elegant had and their prices were better than most. While they didn't have any rugs or pillows to rent (sigh), their wine barrels were perfection to use as high boys and ended up getting a bunch of their low benches to put together as low tables (to use with floor seating). And they were also able to provide lights for my backyard. While every other vendor told me that postposting due to rain or Covid-19 wasn't an option (say whaaa?) I also liked that they were flexible. The main issue was that getting ahold of them was extremely difficult. If the Yelp reviews didn't give me faith that they'd show in time fo the bash I would have been extremely worried. It took a lot of stalking for both me and my party planner to get a contract, pay for the contract and a date to set everything up. There is an emergency # and found that we had better luck when we called the emergency #. They set everything up a few days in advance so I didn't worry too much about them being a no show. I let them know they needed to come at 7am to get it all done since I was headed out for a busy day and they showed up even a few minutes early. An hour later my yard was lit up beautifully and I was really happy with the look of the furniture for the price. They set it all up on a Thursday morning and said they would be back on Monday to pick it up (also prompt for pick up) so we got to enjoy a long weekend of beautiful lights. While the service leading up to the event wasn't the best, I'd probably still use them since it was smoothly the weekend of the event. However, I'd hope they would be more on top of their communication next time.
