Well, just based on this reputation on Yelp, I was naturally concerned when I decided to go with Party Max as my party rental provider. Admittedly, I was looking for the best rates in town considering everything I had to rent. From the red carpet, to the high top cocktail tables, a stage, 6-foot serving tables, a helium tank and then some, I shopped around for the best deal. Party Max was it. Everything came in waaaaay under the general quote around town and Gaston was very helpful in offering even deeper discounts on the items I ordered. I arranged for delivery between 8am and 12pm on the day of the event and just as agreed the 2 delivery guys arrived around 10/11am. They set everything up in the location I directed. Overall, great prices, friendly service and on-time delivery. Thankfully, my 1-star fears have been relinquished and I'll definitely be using them again. read more

It has taken almost a year to write this review but I was not incredibly into Yelp then as I am now. With that said I never checked our their reviews before I used them which is a good thing because I would have probably been deterred! I used them for Thanksgiving last year to host a midsize party of about 30 people. I was having new family (my partner's) that year and I wanted everything to be extra special so I rented the works: Chairs, linens, silverware, stemware, plates, tables, etc.. They were prompt in their delivery and prompt in their pickup. No hassle whatsoever. Everything was clean, orderly and nothing was broken. The ordering was smooth even though I kept changing the order before delivery. They handled it all over email so I never had to leave my computer to get this done. They owe us $5000 and refuses to pay and states that their company is already in a rut. They even insisted that we can just go straight to collections agency that they won't even bother since they already have bad credit. They told us good luck on getting the money. I agree with all the prior comments. This company is horrible, their truck driver ran into our fence and when we showed them the picture of the truck hitting it. They said they will take care of it and never did and they fired the truck driver that also ran into somebody else fence. And now they cannot fix it cause what they do is deduct it from the emplyee and since he no longer works there they cannot fix it. Then after I ordered 5,000.00 worth of things they charged me for the most expensive china and delivered the cheap one. These people are really horrible. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this company for absolutely anything! I booked them for my wedding - I needed an air conditioned tent and some tables and linens. At first everyone is very friendly and perfect. When they showed up and set everything up, the tent was beat up, dirty, installed poorly and had holes all over the place! When it rained, everything got wet! And since the tent was installed so poorly, the AC didnt work! These people are the worst! They never tried to fix the situation and Gaston (the owner) was NOWHERE to be found! They are the WORST company ever! Please do NOT use them. If I could give them a negative score I would do it. I wish I would of gone with another company even if I would of had to pay a little bit more.. TRUST ME they are not worth the very little money you save. read more

These crooks dont even deserve the one star that is the lowest rating. On December 4, 2018 I paid $151.81 plus tax for a helium tank for an engagement party that weekend. I picked up the helium tank on December 8th 2018. I backed up to the loading dock and one of the guys from the office along with an employee from the warehouse helped me get it off the loading dock. I let the seats down and put the helium tank in my trunk. The helium tank arrived at the venue with the metal cap tightly sealed. So tight that we had to get tools to pry it open. Upon removing the cap 7 of us saw the valve was in the open position. When the regulator was attached to the helium tank, nothing came out. It was completely empty. My sister immediately called Gilda (it was Sunday) and left messages about he empty tank. In order to save the event we had to scramble at the last minute and purchase 4 small tanks from Party City for $160. Monday morning I went there to return the helium tank and they didn't even address the messages I left on Sunday. I explained that the tank was empty when I took the cap off and they immediately started dodging blame. Gilda told me that this had never happened before, and said that they were not responsible but rather the company that supplies them the tanks. I showed them receipts and pictures of the tanks that I had to purchase because theirs was empty. They still tried to say that the tank was full and they checked it before they gave it to me. I went to the warehouse and spoke to the guy from the office that helped me get it into the car and he said he didn't know what happened but it was nearly full when he checked it. I went back to the office and they said they would contact their supplier and then call me back. I have not received a call back, I have been calling Gilda from the office and nobody is answering now. SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE AND DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS! read more

Please make yourself a favor and run away from this company. Terrible customer service, the owners are pushing and rude. We were rip-off over $300 in deposit of a service we never received. At the beginning, they were super polite and helpful while I requested a quote. Once you pay a deposit, their trur colors comes out. Expect the following: - Rude and pushing phone calls demanding for the rest of the balance three weeks prior the event, also Adding extra $250 in deposits that was not specify in the contract. Only shows in the quote. (Their contract says that due balance will be colected 7 days prior the event) -They will make your life so miserable that you will decide to cancel your order. I think, this is a very dirty way to make money, try the clients like their are making you a favor and mistreating you, at the end keep the deposit. I should have researched a bit more about them. Terrible mistake that cost me good bucks. I found another company that is highly recommended by different websites...it is worth to pay a bit more and not deal with this scummy people. read more

NEVER EVER AGAIN! I hired this company for the balloons, balloon arch and tables for my daughter's 1st bday party mainly because their rates were really good. MAN WHAT A MISTAKE! I hired them to set up at 11:00am since the party was scheduled to start at 1pm. When I saw that it was 11:46am I called and the lady told me that she was going to call the driver and get back to me. SHE NEVER CALLED ME BACK! I called again at 12:00pm and she wouldn't pick up the phone and sent me to voice mail SEVERAL TIMES until I called again with my mother in laws phone, the lady picked up when she saw it was another number. I'm honest I TOLD HER OFF and pointed out that she picked up when she saw it wasn't my number. By this time it was already 12:50pm and my guests were already arriving. I had no tables, no balloons and no balloon arch. I had to ask the party next door if we could barrow some balloons for the pictures THAT WAS SO EMBARESSING ! The driver finally showed up at 3:45pm and wanted to set up. Mind you the party was from 1pm to 4pm. As I am arguing with the driver and asking him to take the stuff back his assistants were helping themselves to the food! I called Party Max on Monday and after several voice messages to the manager Gaston we were finally given our money back. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this review. I hired Party Max over two months in advance of my baby shower - simple things: 6 tables, 50 chairs and basic table cloths. Similarly to the other customer who posted a rating in Yelp, they comitted to delivering between 10-12 pm (the event started at 2), but when noon came around there were no signs of them. I had actually called at around 11 am and got through to someone at the company who said the driver was in route, that she'd called them and call me back. Needless to say, she never did, of course!! The delivery finally arrived at 12:30 and at that time one of the delivery guys starts arguing that the distance between the truck and the space where the event was going to take place was too far. Mind you, it was on the ground level and about 200 meters away. I was never told when I rented the stuff that distance mattered. I was only asked if the venue was at ground level. The debate went on for nearly an hour, which turned into a senseless argument over us customers asking how much more we needed to pay to get the stuff delivered and the nasty delivery guy refusing to take the stuff in because he was afraid of loosing his job -- depite the fact that we were willing to pay whatever we needed to get the stuff in!!! Insane!!! He called the office, and no quick resolution was offered!!!! At that point the delivery guys have been there for well over an hour, wasting our precious time and I am sure that delaying, for no reason, other customer's deliveries!!!! One of the delivery guys was actually trying to help and finalize the delivery, while the other one kept arguing and refusing to walk the 200 meters. Ok!! So we got past that, the whole thing delayed us and all, but we made it! Aaaaaaand then comes part ii of this whole drama dealing with this horrific company. The same delivery guys show up to pick up and we told them that we were keeping two table cloths until monday since the event wasnt over. That became another reason for the nasty delivery guy to start arguing with us that we couldn't do that and was expecting for us to lift up all our food, while the party was still going, to hand him the stupid table cloths!!!!! How frustrating!!! Once again he called the office and those unprofessional and unpolite company managers couldnt quickly resolve a simple customer situation, eventhough we were willing to paaaaayyyyyy extra to keep two insignificant table cloths an extra day!!!! Bottom line, unless you want to risk going through a stressful situation during your event, pay the extra bucks to hire another company. These people have NO idea what customer service is!!!! PARTY MAX MIAMI RIPPED US OFF! We rented about $3,000 of equipment for an event, several weeks in advance of the event. Within a few days of placing the order, the event was cancelled. With substantial notice, we called to cancel. Eventually Gaston Bencaquen agreed to refund the money. He never did. Many of our calls were not returned. Finally our call was picked up (but only by calling out from a number he wasn't familiar with). We were told that the check was ready but not signed. We continued to get the run-around and then we were informed that he spent the money on business expenses! (This was AFTER he agreed to refund the money. In other words, he spent OUR money on his business!) After getting the run-around, we reported him to the BBB. He never responded. To this date, he has never refunded the money. It is my opinion that this business has poor customer service, and that Gaston Bencaquen is untrustworthy. read more
