I stopped by this Party City to pick up balloons for her certificate ceremony. This Party City is near my work so it was closed by. I came during lunch time and they were not busy at all. I found parking easily and when I walked in, they had so many options for balloon. You're suppose to pick one and then take it to counter to pay. They'll do everything for you and ask if you want weights or any add ons as well. Keep in mind that the weights and add ons are not free. I found what I wanted here and the customer service I received was also. They will also walk your balloons order for you to your car if needed. read more

Holly Rocks! A few days before new years a few of our party mates became ill so we had to cancel plans , Holly was so gracious I had a few items labeled 2023 and even though it's a only few days before she still allows the return. That's great customer care. Probably why some of the local stores made it through the pandemic- great customer care is the best a corporation can do during a trying economy to win over loyal customers . I noted my receipt said 7 days prior to the holiday they accept returns . I called and asked if i could return at least the few 2023 themed items and she asked do you have receipt? Yes I do! Fraudulent activity at this location. I prepaid for balloons to be delivered for my baby shower. They never showed up. Called multiple times, and they claimed the balloons had been delivered and refused to return my money. Never shopping here again, and would not recommend their delivery option. I've been to many Party City stores in different towns and cities, but this one in Newbury Park always has what I'm looking for and, for me, is the most complete. I couldn't find helium for the last few months, and was I surprised to find not one but two sizes of helium tank balloon kits. Service is great, as all staff and employees are eager and available for questions to find anything among thousands of detailed party items. Stopped in today to buy a pair of gloves for my teen for Homecoming. Found the perfect pair. We get to the register & she asks the clerk if they are returnable if they don't fit. He says, "Yep." And rings them up, as I'm about to pay, he adds, "Depending on who's working." I said, "Wait. What?" He said as long as they "looked" unopened, they would likely be accepted as a return. I told him we were definitely going to open them & make sure they fit & if they didn't, I would be returning them. He said, "well, you can try." So... no sale. Seriously? Figure out your policy. I'm giving one star for this location because they either have terrible quality balloons or helium. My mother in law bought a bouquet of balloons for my daughter's 2nd birthday yesterday around 11:20am and the giant unicorn balloon started deflating around 3pm. The cool balloons with confetti inside were on floor at 5am this morning when I got up. They didn't even last 24 hours. However, the balloons I bought from dollar tree 3 days ago are still perfect. Our dear friend had a milestone birthday last month. I offered to help with the decorations. She had it covered, but did ask if I could pick up balloons. I called this Party City location to ask about pricing and how I should handle the order. A dozen latex balloons, filled with helium will run $15, and if I paid for them in advance and gave a time for pickup they'd be ready. Stopped in on a Thursday to choose the colors and quantity, paid for the order, gave my contact information, and back out the door for the next errand. They offered a bag to contain the floaty filled balloons for a dollar and I went for that, thinking of how hard it is to drive with bobbing balloons in the car. Saturday morning I was back for the pickup part of the deal. Several others in the short line were also getting balloons for their parties. I didn't see my order up front, but they quickly got it from the back. I was able to find a gift bag and card to finish prepping for the event, too. Each interaction I had with their staff members was good on both visits. When I was friendly with them, the attitude was reflected back. I didn't go wandering the aisles to see what they had in stock, but first impression was that they seemed full of merchandise ready to help raise a party spirit with decor, costumes, supplies for serving food and lots more. Drove all the way across town to order ribbons for a baby shower (AFTER calling to see if they provided that service). I was told on the phone that they DID print party favor ribbons and that it took 3-5 working days. I arrive at the Simi Valley location, grab one of the books to order from, sit down and start picking out what I want. I tell the girl I'm ready to order - she calls up her manager, who comes and tells me that they don't do personalized party favor ribbons or anything out of those books. First - why do the people answering the phone tell customers that they DO provide those types of services? And why are the books still out on your salesfloor for customers to look at ?! Only to be told that Party City no longer works with those vendors!! What a waste of my time!! read more

Par-tay Cityyy! ("PC") The lovely retail chain for when it's time to cut loose and get down. PC's are pretty ubiquitous and similar and this location is your typical one. Every last detail you may need for a festival of grand proportions is available. We usually visit for Halloween decorations and costumes for the little one. My only beef is with the prices. MANY of the items in PC can be found much cheaper at Wal-Mart and Target. However, if you're looking for a specialty costume this is certainly the place to go. I've always found the employees to be very nice and helpful at this location. There is plenty of parking and the store is pretty good sized, well maintained and not super crowded. 4 stars overall. Taking 1 away for some of the silly prices. read more

After being appointed to plan an event -- I waited until the very last hours prior to the event. I walked in not having an idea of what to do or get. I immediately asked for assistance for the specific event & Ravin immediately sprung into action. She pointed me to the right direction & introduced me to a "Halloween Expert" (did not catch the gentlemen's name). He was able to throw in ideas & offered to bring me a cart & assisted to bringing my items to the checkout counter. My purchases included quite a bit of balloons as well as many other items & that's when Raven broke me the bad news. Helium tank was already reserved for previous online orders -- however she did have a solution for me. Whether it's a "sales tactic" by Party City or not -- I needed a party to host & I had to deliver. Ravin's easy solution was to purchase a helium tank & recommended me the right tank size! She stated that it was better to have more than to come up short & I could have not agreed anymore. Also went above and beyond to point out the online coupon of savings. This is service -- all with a great sense of humor & smiles on their face. Truly exceptional experience! Never the less, the party was quite a success!!! I don't usually like to leave bad reviews. But the grade of helium used at Party City is not good enough for balloons. I visited this branch and had some balloons filled, the next day they were on the floor and deflated. The same day I also purchased balloons from the Dollar Tree, they lasted 5x longer than the Party City balloons. The customer service in this branch was good, but a shame that the helium was not up to par. read more

For the reviewers who say the staff isn't the best -- well, what do you expect when they're making minimum wage and working in a warehouse setting? The supplies here are what you come for, and they're pretty great for your typical party that isn't too fancy -- particularly great for children's parties. I came here for my friend's son's 1st birthday and got adorable balloons in the shape of a rainbow with happy clouds and a big happy face sun. They are still alive after 10 days, too, which is pretty incredible. The thing that drives me truly crazy about this Party City is that they play well known songs, but they're all covers by really mediocre artists who sound like they do karaoke. Cheesy as all hell. The manager came up to help Jennifer as she was checking out customers and also trying to blow up balloons. So he helped set up one of those reward accounts for the customer ahead of me. Mind you there is now a line of 4-5 people including me, manager turns and walks away to the back never to be heard from or seen again. They have awesome stuff! The store is giant and supper clean inside. You can go inside last minute and find tons of of cool items. They have different genres from basketball to 40th birthdays. Its just a super awesome place, they also have wedding stuff including favors. If you need fun birthday balloons, gag gifts, and cool kid party ideas this is your store. The simi location is especially awesome because it is big and clean. If you sign up for their emails they constantly have coupons that you can use towards your purchase. We had a simple question about whether or not they had any more of the 115pc candy bags that they had advertised. When asked about it, Mia said "No we're all out." We asked if they had anything that would be a good substitute, and Mia said "No. There's nothing I can do about that." She completely dismissed us and started walking away while giving us dirty looks and then gossiping to her fellow coworker about it. While I was walking the aisles searching for NYE goodies for roughly 15 minutes, I was approached by multiple employees willing to offer help and information. I have never had problems shopping here , I have had pleasant experiences with the staff , however today 10/31/16 was not just any other day!! I bought my oldest son his Batman costume weeks before halloween and I recall the girl packing up the costume back in bag after pulling it out to see prior to buying it. Super frustrating how bad the customer service is at this store. Came in for standard clear treat bags that you can find in almost every store. Shelf was empty but there were literally fifteen to twenty boxes of supplies that were on the floor waiting to be unloaded. So I asked if they could check to see if one of the boxes might contain the clear treat bags. Response, "if they aren't on the shelf then we are out" with absolutely no attempt to find out or seek assistance from a manager. BTW, the store was empty. I was the only customer there. Seriously disappointed especially since they have a captive market. But maybe that's why they don't care (sigh). Next time I will plan my events further ahead and order online. read more

I was in a jam on Memorial Day my son told his mom and I that he needed a costume for his play on Thursday SHORT NOTICE. I took a chance and called Party City in Simi Valley, a woman by the name of Margie answered the phone and from that point on she made my entire week. I was surprised they were open on a holiday let alone had very helpful customer service. When I arrived and had asked another awesome party city rep Shane where I could find Margie he pointed her out when I said hi I just called she said yes after your call I went back and started looking for what you were asking for, then Shane got involved and everything fell into place, Shane had also inquired if I was active duty I then received 10% off my bill. So let me end with this, I have never taken the time to review a store or a call in to any Company, but today was that exception we will always shop at this Party City. Would put zero stars if possible. The employees are unmotivated and inefficient at their jobs. Last year we walked in to get one... Count it... 1/uno/eins/ONE balloon for my kid turning two. Given a quote of half an hour to get it done when the store was nearly empty and no one in line. This year for my kid's third, walked in at doors opening with only one other customer ahead. Given a time frame of twenty minutes to get a few balloons blown up. The lady after gets the same time. Hubby stalks around the store for a while where at most five customers come in the door total so far and he overhears the older lady (manager? Who knows) say to another employee "gosh it is getting very busy we better start telling people it will take an hour." Every time I have ever been there, the checkout takes a lifetime as the employees are so slow. They have no idea what is in their store either. Plus, when I got some candy there for a baby shower once, it was ridiculously hard and stale - all of the bags had expired dates from a month prior. read more

All I have to say is terrible. NEVER go to this party city or (as a matter of fact) any party city. One employee in particular, Ken, who I believe is a manager is very rude and disrespectful. I will never go there again because of the way he treated me (a customer) and the way I saw him treat the other employees.
