This location was the most sparse. They had absolutely not one can of gas for the shaping dishes. That was the one reason I came here. I did end up buying some snowflake themed plates, napkins and small plates. I also bought some plastic table covers as well. The shelves looked fully stocked, but the key things I needed, they did not have. They were out of the plastic covers to match my plates. They also did not have the snowflake lanterns that I saw at the Southfield location. Customer Service training really skipped the employees here at this location. No greetings, no assistance even when asked. At this point just get self checkout and have someone blow up the balloons, since there is no customer interaction. This was my first job when I was in high school and our manager would never allow us to be this way. And I'm not a customer who needs to be babied, but can I get some assistance if I ask for it. read more

A clean OK store that seemed well stocked. I came in with a purpose to grab some wristbands and they had them in stock behind the counter in various colors, including red which is what I wanted the wrist bands to come in. I feel like I overpaid with $70 for 500 wristbands, but that's the cost of doing business at a retailer sometime. All in all, Party City is a useful tool in any event planner's arsenal and is good in a pinch when you're out of X, Y and Z that you thought you had. read more

Not sure how to rate this business, as I'm not usually a Party City/Halloween City shopper. My power went out on Saturday, and a friend was visiting from Ann Arbor and so we decided to go look at Halloween costumes. I did some Googling and saw that the nearest place was Party City, which turns into Halloween City around this time of year. When we arrived, there were no signs that said Halloween City at all, but when you walk in, and go to the right, you will see that half the store is selling Halloween costumes and products. For a lot of the costumes, there are numbers and pictures on a wall, and you have to ask a sales associate to see them ... not sure if this is to avoid theft, or what, but there was only one sales associate out. My friend wanted to see a costume in size large, but the associate said they only had it in medium ... she said something like "you'll be fine with a medium" but my friend was wary of this since you're not allowed to try them on. So again, this review is just for the Halloween City part of Party City ... it did look like they had a lot of options, but everything seemed expensive, and I didn't like that you couldn't try anything on. read more

I asked them for assistance and they had both a terrible attitude and couldn't even ask another store if they had the merchandise I wanted to pick up. They seem to hire people that could care less about their job or helping customers. It was thoroughly a disappointing experience. Somebody please turn this store around and hire happier people. read more

Was kicked out of the store because I didn't have proof that I'm not allowed to wear a mask. I checked with the policy, and there is nothing that said I need it, but they still kicked me out and told me it was their policy. I am very disappointed in this store. I have been at many stores that don't question my condition. I will never go to this store again! read more

Came here on a Saturday evening two weeks before Halloween and boy was it busy , even despite being Covid times everyone's still trying to be festive which is nice to see!!! Got in line to get some balloons and trust me this line had 20 some ppl but I was through it in no time! The staff was all working together and moving quickly! It's ILLEGAL to ask for service animal paperwork. They're only allowed to ask me what she is and what service she provides. But instead they asked me for documents. I don't carry around all of my medical paper work every where I go. I actually have my card with me but was so annoyed that I was being harassed that I just decided to walk out. read more

Staff ignored me in line as I waited to pick up balloon order with kids in tow. Five or so workers were standing around talking, made full eye contact with me in the 'pick up balloon order here' line, but kept talking to one another and doing inventory. When I asked if I was in the right area to pick up my balloon order after waiting and waiting (I seriously thought it must be me standing in the wrong spot, they can't be intentionally ignoring me!), I was met with sarcasm and rudeness. I simply wanted to pick my balloon up and leave. My balloon was obviously filled up the day I placed the order instead of pick up day, and was deflated by the time I got it to my car in the lot (maybe because it was very hot outside and helium was already escaping?). I had to get everyone back out of their car seats to go back in and get another one. Staff reluctantly refilled another balloon, which I was grateful for, but met with frustration from staff. Being pregnant in 90 degree heat with two young kids on my way to a photo shoot for a baby announcement with a deflated balloon after dealing with rude staff and being blatantly ignored isn't fun - but that's cool, I was still kind. Staff was not. As a frequent balloon customer, i was very put off by the unfriendliness exhibited to paying customers and do not plan to return to this chain again (which means no change will likely happen anyways). Several people I've spoken to about my experience have said they experienced the same unfriendly attitude and rudeness there. Best wishes on your business, but I would invest in helium balloon delivery or completely retrain/replace staff so you don't keep losing customers :(. read more

This is hands down the worst party city I have gone to. I arrived to purchase two balloons, and had to wait two and a half hours to get them. An employee rolled her eyes at me when I brought the balloons up to the counter to be filled with helium. Only one register was accepting credit cards-the rest were cash only, although they didn't tell us why when asked. I would recommend trying elsewhere! read more

I ordered balloons online to save time. Go in and wait in the line that says "pick up online balloons here". Line is taking ages and I finally ask another employee if this is the right line. She says I have to get in the main line to get the balloons. Um what? What's the point of ordering online then? The line was soooooo long and took over 40 mins. I can see my balloons behind the counter done the whole time. I get to the front and the lady "can't find" my order and is looking all over even though I pointed them out multiple times. How long does it take to ring up four items at Party City? About the time it takes for me to read four BBC news articles, update my calendar, check my e-mail accounts twice, compose a concerto, and seriously question if I should ditch the 50s themed decoration pack and visit Target next door. Party City is a destination for party favours and decorations in a variety of themes that cater to most tastes. Need aquamarine honeycomb wedding bells? Look in the bridal aisle. Old West gunslinger cap guns are one aisle over from Pixar's latest movie-branded merchandise. The wide selection of costumes year round makes the store one of the few inexpensive, reliable locations to find a whacked out Eighties feathered wig or a big old piece of rapper bling for a party. There are enough balloons here to celebrate all of life's milestones. Prices are moderate for the quality you get, but if you need Vegas casino souvenirs in a pinch, Party City fits the bill. The cashier service eclipses most of the finer points of a relatively clean and well-organized store. Retailers know the post-5:00 PM rush is a peak time for sales. Why, then, does Party City have one employee up front? The same woman fielded calls and handled all customer service, and possibly redesigned Belle Isle at the same time. She took forever to process three yappy teenagers and their mother for a simple transaction. It took me three times as long to get to the till as it did to locate my purchase. There was no one ahead of me, and the transaction was interrupted by two or three phone calls. Is there no one else to help out? Manager, please check how many people you have on staff. The lineup that grew behind me during the 15 minutes of waiting could easily be serviced by pulling another person off the floor, but I didn't see a second employee there the whole time I was in Party City. Once I got to checkout, the usual battery of questions ensued. No, Party City, you really don't need my phone number or my e-mail address to send coupons. The cashier blessedly refrained from high pressure sales tactics to upsell me on marketing data I am unwilling to provide. This isn't the first time I've been in the store and suffered unacceptably long delays once I found the item I wanted in stock. As it comes to finding party supplies, I think I'm going to take my chances with Target and ordering online more in the future. He said he would call back in 20 minutes and I provided my name and number. 3 days later I'm still waiting for that call. I needed to place a ballon order. We went in right after visiting the David's Bridal in the same shopping plaza. They were rude and uninterested. My grandma tried to explain what she was looking for and the cashier was rude about telling her that she didn't understand her. Then, the woman scanning us up looked like she didn't want to work there. I thought Party City was a place to plan parties, not funerals. read more

This store has now disappointed me 2 out of 2 times! The first time was a balloon order. We picked out balloons only to find out most of what we wanted was not in stock. I am confused why they leave them on the wall if they don't have them. After spending $200 on balloons they asked if I wanted them delivered and I was so excited and said yes. My order came in 3 separate trips and one of them was over an hour late without even so much as a courtesy call to let me know they were running behind and missing stuff. I decided to give them one more try today and they rushed us out very rudely 15 minutes before they closed and we were approached by 2 separate employees to tell us if we didn't hurt they were closing the registers. Our cashier did not say one word to us while ringing us up and after spending over $150 I was rudely told I couldn't use the cart to take my massive order to my car. I will never return! I get there is an employee shortage but everyone can still be kind while at work! read more

Terrible attitudes. We had a larger balloon order and we kept getting error codes online so we couldn't process it the night before. The clerk at the front was very disrespectful when checking us out, giving a lot of attitude. Then she asked someone to come up and fill up these balloons. Some girl came up and asked her where they were and she pointed at our pile (yes it was at least 40 balloons, which I apologized for) the lady walked away and rolled her eyes starting to shake her head. I went there to get plates for Thanksgiving. While in line I noticed a cyst walked up to check out then said oh I need something else. Instead of putting her stuff a side and take the next person in line they held everyone up. The person returned 5 minutes later. Meanwhile the cashier was playing around moving at a snails pace. She and one other person were also playing with their hair and wiping their noses. Gross! read more
