So I stopped in to pick up a few more pieces to a costume that I already had, to make it complete. This location had more than enough stock, especially on Halloween Weekend. The owners, managers, or whomever responsible for making sure there was enough costumes and accessories did a pretty good job. Now, here comes the issue...... the staff. I wholeheartedly understand that working retail and dealing with the general public has to be on of the hardest, annoying, bothersome and infuriating jobs in the world. People are rude and sometimes they take their day out on the staff of whichever store they go into, so I completely understand the frustration, especially when the store is busy. With all that being said, I asked one employee a question about necklaces, and I was already hesitant due to the look on her face. She looked as though I was intruding in her house. After having to repeat myself she said they're on the next aisle, but seemed rather annoyed that I even had the audacity to ask her a question. I go to the next aisle, they weren't there (No worries). Alright it's fine. I find them myself. I walk past another employee who looks even angrier than the last one and ask a question about hair/wigs. She looks at my like "why are you even talking to me"..... BECAUSE YOU WORK HERE.... but tells me to check the wig aisle with much attitude. I don't even say thank you and just walk away because the amount of hostility over a simple question made no sense to me. I finally just say I'm leaving and pay for my stuff at the cash register. There might of been four employees at the register and you guessed it, at least 2 of them looked as though they were dragged into work against their will, and had a taste of spoiled milk in their mouths. Like I stated before I understand that retail is hard but being busy is not an excuse for being the worlds most uninviting party city employees in America. read more

Ordered balloons online and came in to pick them up. We were treated like crap by the African American girl and guy at the balloon counter. We called ahead to make sure the balloons for our baby shower were ready and upon arrival these two refused to give them to us because however they wrote down our name and stuck it to the balloons didn't match. Apparently showing the order number and a receipt on our phone wasn't good enough. We had to guess how they could have messed up the name for 5 minutes, several times asking why our email receipt was a problem. They are balloons, I've never seen an employee or person in general act so petty. Anyways, after that we realized we needed more balloons so instead of coming back here we ordered from the dollar tree up the street and saved a lot of money but also we were treated with respect and kindness. read more

Went in for 4 latex balloons 20-30 minute wait. They needed another register or a competent cashier. It took this cashier 15 minutes to help the 2 people ahead of me. read more

Richard, the manger, is definitely on some sort of deep seeded power trip. He makes a visit to this party city, anything but a good time. I needed 45 green, white and black balloons and a set of "2018" number balloons for a graduation party. I called to place an order and was told by Richard" nope, no, i will not take a balloon order over the phone" (this is despite party city's website saying you can). When i asked why he said when people do call in orders they are always wrong and then people don't show up to pick up their balloons. I then asked if i should put an order in online (something else party city advertises online). Again, In an extremely condescending voice, says "no", like I'm an idiot to even suggest this. He said that online orders are always placed incorrectly by people and then they get mad when they come into the store to find the wrong balloons were filled. I don't know why he's projecting these prior customer experiences on me, but I found it petty and unprofessional. Actually it was more like he was extremely petty. Anyway, he then said the only way I could order these balloons was if i walked into the store and placed the order in person. I could then pick them up the day of my event. So i make a trip out. The bill for my balloons cane to almost $100 even. Let that sink in- i paid $100. For balloons. Filled with air. So that's a little nuts, but i wanted it to be a nice party, so fine, here's my money. I go to pick them up, and immediately I knew who Richard was. He was wearing 1989 sunglasses -in the store - and with the same patronizing voice, directed me to where i should get my balloons, as though i was the problem for not knowing the entire layout of the store and how their balloon pick up operations worked. The kind of store, where you just assume the employes contemplate suicide at the end of work. Pretty much everything about the experience of going there is annoying: pissed off parents, loud kids, high prices. You'll spend two minutes finding what you want, and 15 minutes in the checkout line. The only reason I gave it two, and not one star is the fact that they do have a good selection of party supplies. Admittedly it is geared much more towards planning a child's birthday party. I recommend that you visit their website before going to the store. read more

I just went to party city to get a balloon inflated which seemed like a simple enough task. Boy was I wrong, the first time they inflated it and made me pay might I add the balloon would not float. When I asked them why it wasn't floating they explained to me that when helium gets old it goes bad and no longer floats. Well that would have been useful to know in the beginning! So I deflated the balloon completely and brought it back to the store hoping this time they could get it right. They inflated the balloon then proceeded to tell me that i would need to pay again. Even though I didn't agree I gave the cashier 2 dollars since that was the fee the first time. Then an employee told me that the fee was 8.50. That is when I lost it. How did the fee go up 6 dollars in 1 hour. Needless to say they won't have my business anymore. read more
