Slow, and highly rude when you try to explain a mistake they made. They do not honor their own posted signs when there is a percentage off. Party City in general needs a reorganization as most of the stores in suburban neighborhoods are not customer service friendly at all. Brianna at the front registers is AMAZING. I literally had to ensure I got her name to give praise where it is due. My best friend and I went to Party City yesterday, Saturday, around 9:30am looking to get balloons blown up for her "Quarantine Birthday". Brianna greeted us upon entry and proceeded to tell us where the items were we needed, how long the wait would be (2 hours) and what we needed to do. She was knowledgeable with an amazing spirit! Came in the night before, it felt like being in the social service building, I bought two costume and myself one, I spent 107.00, waited in line for 20 mins. To go home and they gave me a man outfit instead of a woman smh have to go back tomorrow. Come the next day the cashier don't care, the manager comes out and didn't even think to help me. She just sent me back to the wall. The only person that's was not stressing was the man that help me with the exchange and went up front with me,this store needs more help and kindness! read more

So I have to be honest. I try my BEST not to go to Party City because I feel like their prices are usually over and beyond anything you can find online. However, there are some items that I just can't find anywhere else. Pros: This location more than any other location typically has more of the Party City only items that I need than any other location in the area. It's an easy store to navigate and their signs are usually accurately depicting the actual items on the aisle. Additionally, I can usually find an employee on the floor to assist me as well. Cons: The line/wait is ALWAYS long and I mean ALWAYS. I can't imagine a time where I have visited this store and didn't have to wait at least 15 minutes and this wait is sometimes with one or two people in front of me. The cashiers just literally move at a snails pace. Additionally, on this day that I went to the store there was a 2 hour wait on balloons. The bigger problem was that this 2 hour wait started AFTER you already spent 30 minutes in the line to get to the cashier to place your order. In my opinion, they are severly understaffed. Honestly, if I could find the items that I buy here online or at another store I would never spend my money in a Party City again. read more

This particular location SUCKS, when I say "POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE" every time I go into this party City in Forestville, MD the service is awful. The area where the balloons are blown; they need to train there associates how to expedite and move through quicker with service. Example: went in for a birthday balloon (1), with the name of 5 characters on it waited 30 minutes, was it crowded? HELL NO, was it busy...HELL NO. This is the worse Party City I've ever been to. For one, you have to wait 30 mins for balloons regardless of how busy (or NOT busy) the balloon associate is. Never had to wait in other Party City's...just had to wait in line. But before that I bought 3 balloons and a weight to hold it down and for some reason they only rang up 2 balloons. I never checked the receipt cause he appeared to have rang everything but when i came back only 2 balloons were blown up and upon cking my receipt...you guessed it...only 2 balloons blown up. Not sure what happened. Then i had to get back in line to buy the last balloon (forget the weight at this point) and the cashier did not feel like walking the 5 steps to look at the balloon i wanted. She hands me this SMALL sheet of paper whose number is posted over the pic of the balloon itself to pick out the balloon. I couldn't cause i couldnt see it! She finally huffed and puffed her young self over to the wall and got the balloon. Nice work, young lady. You get an E for eventual effort. At least they didnt make me wait another 30 mins but i DEFINITELY wont be ever going back there. You always remember how people make you feel and they made me feel UNvalued! read more

I had never been to a party supply store; I usually just go to Target for everything (it's a real problem), but I was confident I would find exactly what I needed in Party City. But I wasn't shopping for myself, I was shopping for a 7-year-old whose prone to change her mind at the last minute. Two weeks ago she wanted to be an owl for Halloween. Last week, she decided being a cat was a better choice. Then, Catwoman. No, a cat witch. No, Catwoman. So off to Party City we went. I was little overwhelmed at first since it was the Friday before Halloween. I recommend looking for an "expert" in an orange vest for assistance. The full-body costumes are posted along the wall and numbered so the warehouse folks can find it easier. If you've never been here before, you may not know how the system works, and if it's busy, no one will explain it. You can always build your own costume and there are plenty of wigs, feather boas, and grease makeup to choose from. After three attempts to find something suitable and in her size, my daughter luckily settled on something less popular. Party City is ok; next time I'll go when less crowded and hopefully I won't witness a grandmother loudly cuss-out her grandkids. read more

After being thoroughly disappointed with the Lanham store and it's empty shell I took a chance and came out to the fourth meal store and found what I was looking for. I was also shocked to find that all the shelves were full especially the candy for the piñata. This is what a store should look like. If you're a party store you should have supplies for parties at anytime of the year. Your candy shelves should not be bare. Your balloon supply should not be minimal. If you need party supplies, do yourself a favor and come out to the Forestville store Where you will most likely find what you're looking for. read more

The staff here is great!!!! I purchased a bouquet of balloons there on yesterday. The line was long but the staff handled it nice and orderly. They made great recommendations and even assisted me in fulfilling a Pinterest idea. This will be my default party supply store now. read more

Horrible Customer Service! As a former employee of Party City of the Forestville location and Lanham location for 7 years I am shocked on how their service has declined. I went to the Lanham location to to purchase a character toy (from the boy's birthday aisle) for my nephew, unfortunately I brought the wrong character. I ATTEMPTED to return the item in exchange for the correct character at the Forestville location. The store did not have the exact item, so I got something else but with the correct character. As Durrell started to do the return, he only rang the new item. He said could not return the other item, and retrieved his manager Sade. She told me that the item I wanted to exchange was a seasonal item and I could not return it. I was unaware of this, however with this being the first day of Fall I still had six days to return the items. Sade's customer service skill were as effective as a blind man teaching a deaf person. As mentioned before I have worked for the company and if this is the best they can do in training, be worried. read more

I've never cared for this place because of the customer service and sense of urgency. The last thing you want to do is call this company with a question. I called to ask for a price on a thousand count of balloons. She acted shocked and as if getting the info was a bit much for her. That's simple math. Especially when those companies have the cheat sheet for the price of balloons. There was just no sense of urgency (on hold for 6 mins before I hung up) or simple communication. Communicating with an individual can make the process run much smoother. Sitting on hold for 6 min feels like a life time when your a customer and your calling a representative that should be knowledgeable of there products. Still need my balloons but my business will go else where. This place gets two stars because it always clean and organized when I'm forced to go there. read more

This place has everything you need for a party and halloween costumes. The place was swamped with it being the weekend before Halloween. I know I would have been able to find a suitable Diana ross wig if the wig section wasn't so messy. I was able to find my red feather boas with no problem. read more

Horrible! This store seriously looked as if it were closing but no....it just was filthy. The cashiers attitudes were as nasty as the store was. The aisle were literally empty! I asked a cashier for help in locating an item and she told me flat out "NO! It's not my problem if you don't see the item on the shelves. There's only 8 of us working here anyway." Okaaaayyyy?! Myself and a couple of other customers ended up leaving once the employees started arguing with an elderly costumer because she didn't understand the balloon buying process. The employees were nice, but this party city needs some better management and communication, The manager was rude and disrespectful to myself and another customer. She tried to jump other folks in front of people that was already waiting. When I spoke up about it, she rolled her eyes and walked away, when another customer said did she just roll her eyes and I replied I believe so and caught an attitude. She turns back around and said did you say something. Once again we replied back. I don't have time to be disrespected while I have been patiently waiting for 1hr & 30 while one person work to blow up a 60 balloon order until someone came to help. On top of helping out others find their prepaid balloon order and other things, because apparently no one wants to help their own customers but 3 people, the two young women blowing up the balloons and one cashier, other than that everyone had an attitude or body language of irritation or complaining about their schedules. The two stars go to them, I actually will give them 4. And the fact that it was nicely stocked and organize. But the staff needs more work and I thought they suppose to wear uniforms, because they all looked unprofessional in their own clothing, their clothes fit their attitudes they carried. This is why I travel further out, I usually never go to this one, but I was there for someone else. Ugh!! I need my $20 back for being disrespected. Smh one hour and thirty minutes for 15 balloons that cost $20, went through such an experience. read more
