It was originally purchased about two hours away from where I live. I was in the side of the road, over night, basically Murphy was holding my hand all weekend. I purchased a fuel pump elsewhere, since where I had the car towed there was no Oreiliy's in walking distance. Naturally I would expect this nationwide corporation to not make a warranty return almost impossible. Such an expectation failed. When I originally attempted the warranty return, the closing shift employees told me it needed managers approval, because it was in excess of $200. ($203.48 if you want to be precise) The following day, I returned at the time the employees stated a manager would be available. The cashier who started to help me, while nice and obviously trying desperately to follow someone's orders, would not process my return. She said I needed the physical card and could not process the return using Apple Pay, which was how I paid for my online order. The next thing you know, the doors flew open and an elderly woman appeared to be flown into the store, atop cloud, enveloped in their mist. The pigeons guiding the cloud flew down at her feet. She used each pigeon as a step and away flew her glorious cloud. Ugh. Her vibrant, red, perfectly placed lips were the only thing my eyes could focus on. She was the manager. Ugh x2. Her employee, very nervously, explained why I was there. Suddenly, the store became pin-dropped silent. When her shrill voice interrupted me as I began to explain the reason for my visit, I felt every set of eyes fixed on me. They were all waiting for something. I then interrupted her back, just to explain the validity of the warranty. Once again, fixed on her ridiculously red lips, I heard her ask where the box was. When I told her how far away I'd left it, I didn't her much until she, very callously declared," we do not allow returns without the original packaging." The eff? I asked her if that was the expectation of every career mechanic who used this business for their purchase. "Yes, it is," she lied! "Bulls***," I exclaimed. Try the store you got it from, maybe they do it for you," she turned away. Quickly, spun around again, just to say, "okay, yeah, by." I was dumbfounded. I knew the return policy. I research everything before I speak on anything. Furious? A gross understatement. Corporate? No answer and a bass akward phone system, to say the least. Two days, after I moderately calmed down, I was ready for anything this store, the one I am reviewing, was going to heave at me. I reminded myself, they do not know the situation, to keep my frustration with Red Lips, to a minimum. They are not the same people. I spoke to Robert and Brian at the same time. Brian, trying to hold back a chuckle, asked Robert,"you got this, yeah." "Yeah," Robert one nodded and was typing with such precision. He would occasionally glance at the receipt. Hit a few more keys, then asked me if I had a card or payment method he could use to process my return. What?! I wasn't about to let this be all they got from me, so I purchased some spark plugs and coolant, which were subtracted from the total amount HE WAS REFUNDING ME! "You mean, you're not going to argue with me or make me feel inferior?" "No, ma'am, just enjoy your day." So a huge shout out to Robert and Brian! I will, from now on, be coming to your store, wherever that may be. And to RedLips in Colton, use your red lips to kiss...
