I would give no star. I had an extremely poor experience with this property manager (Brooke) in…read moreAlaska. She was fully aware we were a military family stationed out of state, and I believe she took advantage of that. She failed to conduct required walkthroughs, when we asked to show proof of walksthroughs she couldn't show paper work. When the tenants destroyed the house, she claimed it was normal wear and tear, though it was clearly beyond that. After my husband told her he wanted to sell the home, she dragged her feet, making excuses--like the tenant wasn't home or tenants had COVID--despite us urging her to act quickly. She also falsely claimed to have lost paperwork in an earthquake--completely unprofessional. When we tried to push forward, she kept stalling, and once my husband fired her, we had to sell the house with another agent. My husband flew over to Alaska at last minute to put eyes on the property as she failed to do a video walkthrough, That's when we discovered the extensive damage. I believe she was buying time, waiting until my husband came down to inspect the property. As a result, we lost thousands of dollars--we had to sell the home as-is, to repair the damages would have cost about $50,000. I would never rent, buy, or sell anything with her--she does not deserve to be a real estate agent, and I urge others to avoid her entirely especially if you're a military family. Totally disgusting and unprofessional and unethical.

I contacted her during COVID, months before I moved to Alaska. She answered me within an hour and after that, she kept in touch for months as I got ready to move. She spent a lot of time getting to know what I wanted. I arrived in the summer when the market was booming. Every agent in town was super busy, Leslie included. I knew that was happening and I had lowered my expectations. I was ready to do a lot of my own research and driving around. But Leslie had me seeing places the first weekend in town! She did a FANTASTIC job showing me places I might like. She never schmoozed me. She never tried to upsell me. Once we ran into another agent while seeing a place and he was a super schmoozy, slick kind of guy and it made me all the more grateful for Leslie's approach. When she showed me my place she said she thought I was going to like it--and sure enough, I loved it, and now it's mine. :) She knew exactly what I would love. The neighborhood, the price, the style, all of it. She remembered every little detail (for example--I wasn't interested in a townhouse or condo that didn't allow dogs). She walked me through the offer, counter-offers, loan, inspection, and more. She helped me get an early-occupy deal which I *really* wanted. When our first title company got delayed she found a new one! She didn't have to do that--it wasn't her fault the market was backed up. She would answer my texts at 10pm on Friday night, 9am Saturday, and everything in between. She knows a ton of people in Anchorage and she knows the town well. I hope to buy another place in a year or two and I wouldn't even consider using another agent!

I initially rented an apt from a guy who then left the company within a couple of days after I…read moresigned the lease. The unit was fairly dirty, the floor was extremely dirty & there were nail holes in one part of a wall from the middle down to the floor. None of this was documented, I should have insisted. The door to my apt has a keypad & he used the keypad to enter the 3 times we met up there before I moved in so I assumed the door locked automatically. About 3 months afterwards I tried the door without thinking & it opened without the code. I assumed it was broken & entered a maintenance request. Someone from Pivot Maintenance came & told me there was a way to lock the door from the exterior. For 3 months the door had never been secure while I was inside or away. So the maintenance guy showed me how to lock it from the exterior. Fine. Obviously I should have tried it but I didn't. Then I received a bill for the maintenance time of $130.00! 5 minutes for him to show me how to lock the door which the rental agent should have done. Eventually they agreed to pay half of that. Also the first couple of months there were significant plumbing issues with the toilet. It was a big problem so that I was needing to go to nearby hotels to use their restrooms. RPM did send maintenance & plumbing people to try to fix the issues but it was a long, drawn out situation. Then I discovered there was a restroom in the bldg laundry room I could have been using all that time. Eventually it was resolved. I had a 1 year lease ending in June & the first week of April I left one afternoon to go check my mail. There was a notice taped to my door stating that I would have to vacate the end of May. This was eventually changed to the end of June when my lease actually ends. No reason provided. I'm a good renter, have never been late with a payment in my life. I don't make noise & would never damage anything. The notice was signed by someone purporting to have knocked on the door & they stated no one was home. I had been home & it was very quiet, I would have heard a knock. I realize that legally they don't have to give a reason to ask a tenant to leave but it would have been a huge courtesy if they had done so. I was unable to reach them via phone or email, & they have 3 day weekends so due to this occurring on a Thursday afternoon I couldn't try again until Monday morning to reach them. I left messages & emails but no one got back to me. Finally on Tuesday I received a call from a realtor asking if she could come look at it as the owner was selling. To have this happen as a complete surprise was enough stress but for them to have not notified me themselves & to not give a reason as a courtesy was extremely rude on their part. I was fortunate with how I found a better place but this was incredibly stressful. Everyone I've told has been shocked at such a lack of courtesy by a landlord. They never did contact me again about anything. I've been communicating solely with the realtor.

We were initially told that cats were allowed, but when we later tried to confirm and move forward, we were told otherwise. This contradiction created unnecessary stress and made planning extremely difficult. I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and not relying on verbal confirmations. As someone in the military, stability and clear communication are especially important when it comes to housing. Unfortunately, that consistency wasn't there, which made the situation more difficult than it needed to be. Toward the end of the lease, we received a non-renewal notice without any explanation, despite following the lease terms. While they may not be required to give a reason, the lack of transparency reflects poorly on how tenant relationships are handled. Move-out expectations are very strict, including mandatory professional carpet cleaning and specific vendor restrictions, which can add unexpected costs if you're not fully prepared. The property itself was okay, but the overall experience with management was disappointing. Between the inconsistent policies and communication issues, I would be cautious about renting through them and would advise future tenants to document everything carefully.
