Be on the right side of the tracks! If you love an old fashioned, small town experience, Parsons General Store is the place for you! When I stay it's chock full of inventory, I mean to the brim! They carry tons of nautical items, including the elusive mermaids. Also stocked downstairs and upstairs is kitchenware, tea towels, and antique tins and trays. I love the candy shop, full of "penny" candy from yesteryear and an ice cream shop in the back. For your tots, there's a large selection of toys and puppets, puzzles and more. I had a Blast moseying around Parsons store filling my basket with bygone treasures. After we browsed a bit, and spent a fair sum on well priced trinkets (I fell in love with a bicycle planter that I got on sale!), we set a spell on the rustic white porch and watched the whirligigs do their thing. It's a treasure chest of creativity and fun! Gilda has been the driving force in this ceiling-to-floor general store atmosphere - "you need it, we've got it" vacation shop over 40 years. Do not miss this wonderful General Store . Oh the finds you'll see. They have old fashion candy , ice cream , birdhouses, puzzles , antiques , kitchen gadgets , candles , food items and so much more . She has things displayed on antique tables , stoves and such. The prices are very reasonable . You can definitely pick up some fun things without breaking the budget . They are open Monday- Saturday 10-5 Closed on Sunday. It's very tightly stocked so beware when taking your small children in . You may want to let Daddy keep them outside on the front porch. Trust me on this one . read more

I love this place. My best friend and I visit every time she comes into town and with good reason. The store and the woman working here put you in a feel-good mood and some of the details of the decorating really give the old timey general store vibe! We always get ice cream when we come in and they give a lot, no skimping on the ice cream. We also buy zotts and these cute homemade Oreo clusters. A very cute, touristy store with local finds and a sale section. I love it! They carry handmade blankets made in North Carolina and local honey. It was great to see. They also carry art, candles, candy, gag gifts, ice cream, jams/preserves, home decorations, and knicknacks. It's worth a look just be careful! read more

Signs with funny sayings or bible sayings, bird feeders, jams, salad dressings, salsa, Christmas stuff, cards, candy, pillows, pictures, stuffed animals, candles, toys, ice cream and plates. Love this spot. Founds some very cute things to take back home as gifts. Stop by. You won't regret it. Everything is reasonably priced.

This is such a fun little stop! Has a bit of everything. Old and new. The whole two story building is decked out in Old antiques and pictures and the newer gifts are in the middle of it all. The building is very crowded with stuff to look at. From roof to floor. When you enter theres a type of candle room (all the yankee candle stuff is there) as well as other gifts. The room to the right is the candy and toy side. All kinds of fun stuff there. In the back its like the kitchen with Primitive type gifts.You know all the "Simplify" stuff.Very nice. Upstairs theres three rooms.One is to the left a good size Christmas room with gifts/ornaments. the back is all misc. The other room has lots of coastal stuff. The lady who was working was a real "firecracker". Laughing and carrying on with her southern-isms. Its a great stop if you want add something country to your decor, or just have a hand dipped scoop of ice cream. read more
