We're visiting from out of town and my son likes to visit/support local surf shops so we decided to stop by. Upon entering we were greeted by a lady who seemed genuinely happy to see us and ask if we needed help finding anything. Then as we browsed a young man came in with questions about wetsuits and she immediately asked one of the guys who works there go back and assist him. He was so kind and helpful with the young man, asking questions and offering suggestions based on his own preferences and experience. Then upon checking out, the guy continued the genuine, amazing customer service that we had experienced from the moment we walked in. If only every business embraced their service ethic. It was very impressive, even my 18yo noticed and commented. They have a great selection of apparel, surf boards, shoes and wetsuits. My Nephew really likes this store in Mt Pleasant, so I thought I would check it out. The building has a funky look to it and plenty of parking, so that was a plus. It definitely has a younger vibe to it. I can see why my nephew likes it. I was thinking about renting one of those stand up boards, but you know I am not as young as I used to be. The clothes were pretty much for teens, young adults. All of the necessities you would need for surfing like wax, leashes, etc are ready available. The staff seems pretty knowledgeable and they have a lot of surfboards. Unfortunately, I didn't purchase anything. I guess I thought I would find something that would suit me. Parrot has been around for nearly 20 years (not always at this location) and I've popped in and out during all those years. Recently stopped in again and the same above and beyond customer service is ever present. They sell a huge variety of quality surf boards and skate boards. The staff is perfect because they use the products they sell. In addition, they sell all gear related to those sports, watches, wet suits, clothing, wax, sunglasses... everything you need. There's also a machine outside where you can buy wax during hours they're closed. The clothing for sale is good quality beach casual for both men and women. The women's clothing selection has recently expanded. Hit this place on your way to/from the beach. The location and parking make it an easy stop. read more

I came in to buy wax, and its understandable that they were out of most as it was a holiday weekend and there was some surf. I planned to look around a bit, but felt invisible in the store. No "hello" when I walked in, and no acknowledging me as a customer who may have questions as I made a quick round of the store. The store has a no return policy, which you don't find out about until after you make your purchase. They will give a store credit, but only within 14 days of purchase and only if the item has not been worn and you return all the tags. I was refused a store credit for an unworn pair of shoes because I had accidentally discarded the box they came in. Not customer service oriented at all. I would never shop there again. read more
