My wife said I looked like was about to cry when a inch cup of carnitas fell out of my taco and bounced down to the floor. It's the only time I've ever considered grabbing food off the floor it was that delicious(I didn't grab it). Our recent visit my wife got the carnitas tacos, I got the torta and an order of the Rajas and for drinks were ordered the pineapple express margarita and the habanero cilantro margarita. We had 2 other couples with us and we all agreed everything was spectacular. Pictures are from our first visit. Our server was excellent, fast and fun and very knowledgeable about the menu.We are looking forward to our next visit.

Our server is so amazing he even brought us perfect to go boxes for all the yummy leftover 2 items that are just outstanding and worth ordering every single time Sikil P'ak. I've never heard of it before. But it's the best hummus based dip with some pumpkin seeds and some magic in it. It is just out of this world Fideo soup. One of My biggest pet peeves is when the soup gets to the table cold (and it's not gazpacho) this soup came piping hot. And with fideo not overcooked. More magic here... Will come back and try the Happy Hour M-F 4-6pm

If you haven't been here, what are you even doing?!…read more My favorite spot for Mexican food is @elburritomercado in St. Paul. You may also recognize their logo at the MN State Fair and their food truck at various events. Overall if you've never been to their actual restaurant and market... you gotta. They have a full market and goods side to find all of your needs to take home and cook. As well as prepared items to bring home, heat and serve. I highly suggest this for taco night at home. Everything is fresh, delicious and made there in house. They have a walk up order area with casual seating, a full sit down restaurant area and an awesome patio. In the warmer months they have their Elotes truck out near the back entrance. The customer service is friendly, welcoming and very helpful if you have questions or need recommendations. I recently was shopping the grab and go deli and was trying to decide what meat to go with and two separate regular shoppers pointed me to some awesome picks so shout out to helpful strangers. I'll pass it along if I see someone staring at the wall of options someday. The staff working the deli window was also extremely helpful in picking out a good salsa heat level and gave a few samples to ensure my decision. Remember always ask for recommendations if you're not sure! My go to items to eat in: Nachos Supremo with chicken (when I want nachos THIS is the dish I want) Burrito Tradicional Churros My favorite grab and go items: El Burrito Mercado Tortilla Chips-these are the best Queso Fundido Nacho Mexican Rice w/veggies Mild Chicken Shredded Beef Ground Beef Guacamole Crema Mexicana Mexican Shredded Melting Cheese Obviously fresh soft tortilla shells are a must here too This place is one I love to point people towards because it's an awesome experience with great food and great people. I asked the proprietor when I was picking up food if she carries agua de tamarindo (my personal favorite) and she cheerfully said she didn't have any that day but if I called her in advance, she'd whip some up for me! Phenomenal service!

It's pretty quiet, aside from the t.v. playing up on the wall. The few customers already sitting were either on their cell phones sharing videos with each other or quietly tucked into their meals. You order at a counter in the back of the restaurant and there were a few people ahead in line. Printed menus are available and are located at that back counter. When I told the man it was my first time there and that it'd be a few minutes before I decided on my order, he invited me to take the menu and sit down at a table and he or someone would come to our table to take our order. Someone brought us glasses of water and sets of metal flatware rolled up in a napkin. Then a woman came by to describe to us that their "green sauce" is spicier than their "red sauce", and suggested guacamole and chips. We agreed and ordered some. A while later we placed our dinner orders. The guac and chips never arrived, though that was fine with us when our meals were delivered along with our Jarritos. We both ordered some rice and beans with our entrees, and they were very good, being served on their own plate, not on the plate/platter with the entrees. I ordered Tostadas (3) with some barbacoa added. They were really good and I, somehow, ate all 3 of them, in addition to all my beans and rice, and the wonderfully complimentary Mango Jarritos. I was pretty full afterward and had a hard time getting to sleep later because of that. I also suspected that there was probably a lot of salt in the food, given how hot my feet were in bed and with how puffy underneath my eyes were when I woke up this morning. My companion ordered their Enchiladas Verdes with chicken, and he liked the unusually spicy green sauce. The chicken inside was all white meat, which can be a bit tough/dry. He said that next time he'd get cheese instead of the chicken.

We ordered Al pastor tacos (comes without pineapple), carne asada taco, esquites & a soup (can't remember what the name is) and i would say the food is decent here. When I got there, I went to the ordering counter, but nobody was there. I saw people cooking at the grill and in the kitchen, Im sure at least 3 people saw me standung there, but nobody came to help me. Thankfully, the phone rang so somebody came out. When I got my order, there was oil and sauce on the bag from dirty hands, but worst of all nothing tasted fresh. The tortilllas with the tacos were hard, the al pastor was dry, and the meat/onion ratio was heavy on the onions. The avocado was dark, lettuce was wolted and the limes did not produce much juice. I usually love Los Ocampos, but I won't be going back to this location.
