My husband's father passed away in 2007. I'm not 100% clear on the circumstances at the time, but I've now been dealing with Parr since 2010, when my husband and I first got together. The funeral started out at around $5,000, and Parr set up everything. They did the flower arrangements, arranged everything with the cemetary, and made the payment arrangements. They promised that there would be a temporary marker put at my husband's father's grave, there is no temporary marker. The cemetary informed us last year, when we went to talk about getting a headstone, that they would not put a temporary marker on the ground until the actual headstone was 80% paid for. When I began to pay for the costs after my husband and I decided to merge finances, I noticed that what started as a $5,000 funeral was going to end up costing us $9,000. Mind you, I have not been around since 2007, so I'm not sure how the payments were handled completely before me. Well, the funeral was completely paid off last year. Now I am trying to get things straight with mine and my husband's credit, only to find out that they have not released the judgement that was placed on him back in 2008. I called to ask their secretary about releasing the judgement, and her response was that *I* need to bring in *MY* copy of the final payment, and then she would compare it to her records, and then send it to the courthouse to get the release! This is absolutely ridiculous! It is the business's responsibility that when they recieve the final payment on an account that has a judgment against it to report *THEIR* records to the courthouse. I have kept my own records, but giving them the date of my final payment is technically not my responsibility. read more
