The food wasn't up to the standard I've come to expect from Opa - which is usually fresh and tasty. I ordered Greek salad with chicken kabob to go. I waited for my order being made. Nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn't overly busy only one other couple was in this location while I was there. Everything looked normal and I left with my order. When I tasted it I was very disappointed. The chicken was hard as a rock and tasteless. The pita bread was so salty that after a bit it, I threw it out. The Greek salad was so soggy (tomatoes, peppers and onion) and there was way too many green peppers. More of that then anything and very watery. You expect that one thing might be off but the whole meal was off and not something I wanted to consume and expect from an Opa. I was tempted to come back since I was only two minutes away from the location but decided to throw it out and went elsewhere to pick up lunch. Very disappointing and won't be back.

Tables are packed so close together you can practically share appetizers with strangers. If you're a fish lover, you'll probably be fine; but for those of us who don't eat fish (or just hate the smell), it's rough. The whole place reeks, and it's not pleasant. Food itself? Pretty good. Service? Brutally slow. We waited about 40 minutes for our dishes. When the pork souvlaki finally arrived, the server wasn't even sure if it was chicken or pork and just left it up to us to figure it out. Also, fair warning: they have a dish they flame up tableside with zero notice. Nearly singed my ears off. I get that when the restaurant is not packed is amazing. But tonight, they dropped the ball. Hard. That said, not coming back, ever, again.

The french fries were perfectly crispy and the feta cheese balanced out the saltiness for me. We actually came back here before our flight back home and got the shawarmas! Pictures of Greece adorn the walls, typical of these smaller places, nothing too exotic but a comfortable feel. Unlike many small venues, everything here is spotless and the limited number of tables are well spaced. Service is very friendly. Not as punctual as a chain might offer, but it's easy to forget that when your meal is delivered with such joy. The food is excellent, large portions at reasonable prices. We shared the Ribs and Saganaki appetizers, both excellent. My Mixed Grill Soulvaki was delicious. At first glance I didn't think I could eat it all but it was so good that I powered through. Definitely an alternative to more upscale Greek options, might be our go-to from now on.

This year at "Taste of Calgary" they served: - Homemade Yogurt with Honey and Walnuts - Lemon Oven Roasted Potatoes with Tzatziki - Spanakopita with Tzatziki - Keftedes (Beef) Meatball Slider with Tzatziki - Roast Leg of Lamb Slider with Tzatziki It is obvious they are a greek place with the tzatiki that they serve with everything but tzatziki is amazing. However, I noticed on their menu that they are not very accommodating to food allergies. They have many items that are vegetarian being the: homemade yogurt with honey and walnuts, lemon oven roasted potatoes with tzatziki and spanakopita with tzatziki. However, they have no items that are gluten free or dairy free. I bet dairy free would e very hard for them with the tzatziki but maybe you could ask for your meal without the tzatziki.

The hummus with shawarma was excellent also, especially since it had a generous amount of meat on top. The Greek salad that came with the kabob was also very good. Much like Jess B. mentioned in the 2/23/25 review, I came in expecting a great Greek breakfast but ended up with something that felt more like a standard diner experience. That said, the young woman who greeted and served us was fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. I ordered the pancakes with eggs. The pancakes were far too doughy and oddly topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, and bananas -- a presentation that felt more suited to a child's menu than an adult breakfast order. Want to put a cute topping on my cakes - you should ask me. They were also overcooked, as was the over-hard egg. At one point I even joked to my girlfriend that it felt like there must be a college kid running the kitchen. The service saved the experience, but the food definitely needs improvement.
