Loved this place. They had a gold plated machine gun for $6,000,00. Very unusual art.

His wife is a different story. She lacks knowledge in most aspects of framing and doesn't seem to understand much of what she is looking at. In response to my questions I got a blank expressionless stare. I'm a professional artist preparing for another huge show and I was planning to purchase local and try this Asbury Park business. I had a budget of $6,000 for all the frames needed in this exhibit. After my initial meeting with her I needed a little more info about the dimensions of chosen frames. It took over two and a half weeks for her reply. In fact I thought that I was completely ignored. I decided to go to Ocean Park Gallery to find out if there was any progress. When I got there I found out that she only looked up one of the frames I was interested in. I asked her what other finishes the frames came in and her reply was that they were all the same. WHAT? I know Larson juhl manufactures about 20-30 different finishes so I asked if I could look at the catalog with her to see all the catalog options. Then she snapped and went nuts!! Her reply and I kid you not - "I spent a lot of time looking up frames for you already and I won't spend anymore time doing that so you'll HAVE to choose what I have here, I'm not doing any special orders!" i asked her what the problem was and she went berserk and started shouting things I don't need to repeat here. I told her that if she was going to be unreasonable and be unwilling to work with me I would have to look elsewhere. She said fine, go elsewhere, I don't need your money.....and I added as I was walking out the door I don't need this grief. .......WOW! Good news is: I found out about another frame shop nearby, Tumblety Howell Gallery and framers in Ocean Grove. They had no problem giving me all the info I needed. I got some great service and prices. Everything was special ordered. And the paintings looked great!!. Bottom line: Keep away from the frustrated bitter old woman at Ocean park Gallery! Since that time I heard from neighboring stores that she doesn't get along with others and is a difficult religious fanatic.

I learned about Mappy, obscure for good reasons, which oddly features a microwave in its cat-vs.-mouse battle. Silverball is acclaimed for its unique pinball collection but I veer more to video games, especially Super Breakout. An offseason weekday in Asbury Park means hotels aren't $400 but the boardwalk is also a bit too quiet at that time, so I'm thankful that Silverball helps create a sense of place year-round. (For my financial news nerds, Silverball's current rating average is 4.6 and there should be an "adjusted EPS"-type number that excludes any negative reviews about the food. I have nothing bad, or good, to say about Silverball's cuisine having never tried it but I assure you there's fine fare within the designated Asbury Park/Ocean Grove/Neptune/Bradley Beach Designated Metropolitan Area.)

There's a concession area inside Silverball. Food served is typical for such a place as this, pizza, chicken nuggets, fries, food and drinks catering to children's tastes and priced reasonably. Definitely recommend visiting Silverball Arcade if you're in Asbury Park. You and your family will have a great time there:).

I dig it. The Deets: When I went to visit my parents on the recent Easter holiday, I saw the glass eggs I had given them in the past and it reminded me of my visits to Hot Sand on Cookman Ave in Asbury Park where they were purchased. I cannot believe I didn't come on Yelp and show some love but fixing that now. Hot Sand is a shop that is more like a showcase or gallery for some of the amazing glass blown/sculpted items they create and sell. Best thing I can recommend is to look at the pics here on Yelp as well as their own website to get a feel for what they offer. Speaking of offerings, Hot Sand also has interactive opportunities to help create your own glass blown/sculpted items with their artists in the workshop area in the back (check out their website for details/FAQ). Their website states the "immersive, exciting hot glass experiences are one-of-a-kind" and I agreed with what I saw on my visits there. Beautiful glass art made and sold as well as interactive opportunities with the staff does make Hot Sand a unique experience that I recommend visiting when in Asbury Park.

The product took longer to receive back (over 30 days) after they received the mold kit back. I was very excited when it arrived, however, I was disappointed after receiving it as it looks to have been handled in a way that it is pushed in on one side. I think is was due to how it was handled after the pour was made (the mold I provided was completely round), The sides are not smooth and unfinished, not a polished look (except the top) lots of small bubbles. I was a bit disappointed. Maybe I expected more than I should have.
