Cute children's museum with varying exhibits great for younger children. Great little stop to spend 2 hours indoors. Pros: - My daughter loved the Arts & Crafts, Pirate Ship Playground, Space Floor, Make-Your-Avatar and Horseshoe Crabstations. - Affordable at $14 per person. Cons: - No Wi-Fi, most of the space has little to no T-Mobile Data. My husband paid to work inside the Cafe but left because there was no WiFi. When I asked for a refund the receptionist gave me a hard time :( - Gift Shop and Cafe are basic/minimal and could be a LOT better - The Bias exhibit, which took up a lot of space, was boring and un-engaging - The fish tank was dirty and smelly, felt bad for the fish - Overall the decor and finishes feel outdated, could use a technology update!

Such a hidden gem - a great way to spend a few hours with kids! Admission is $14 per adult and free for under two. There's so much to do and see that you can easily plan to spend two hours. When you walk in the first thing you'll see is a large underwater themed play area. A big wooden pirate ship with a kitchen inside, slides, tunnels to climb through, nets to crawl across, a room where you can create fish rub prints, and even more. My daughter had a great time climbing around and exploring. The rest of the museum can be found in a separate wing with two floors of things to do and see, including: -Dinosaurs and a dino dig -Plants and fishes -A coloring room -A media room with lots of toys, books and a movie on -A helicopter that you can actually sit in -A light up wall and a marble run wall -Tables of legos and magnatiles -A large space area with a play space ship, a create your own constellation bar and so much more This was definitely age appropriate for my almost 3 year old, and I'm sure she'll only continue to enjoy it was her imagination grows.

What a cute little museum for children! I brought my 3 year old here and she had the best time. I loved the play room , the arts and craft room , the interactive / learning room and the fact that the kids stayed entertained for a while. My daughter did not want to leave ! I am certain I will throw her birthday party here , it was that good of a time!

The Monmouth Museum is an a-okay museum if you're looking to keep it local. Prices are reasonable for the size of the museum and the quality of the exhibits. If you have very young kids they will enjoy the areas dedicated to kids. The kids areas are well worn and in need of a scrubbing or complete update, in my opinion. I would not recommend traveling far for a visit unless there is a special exhibit you must see.

    Where imagination and creativity meet.

This is a company that puts on a variety of puppet shows through out the year. We just saw "The…read moreWizard Of OZ," and my family had a great time. As soon as you enter the theatre a couple of the Marionette puppeteers greets the audience/kids with some puppets while everyone is finding their seats. The kids are encouraged to sit on the floor to watch the show on the puppet stage. The Wizard of OZ was great. It is not the complete story you would see as in the movies, as there is no visual effects and time constraints. It's a concise adaptation and everything is left to your imagination. It's definitely a great experience to go do with your kids. It's very affordable and your kids will have fun! The puppeteers are great as they are very friendly and interactive with the kids before and after the show. After the show, the kids can walk up to the small stage and touch the puppets and the puppeteers will answer questions and show how some of the puppets work. You can buy puppets there from finger puppets to the larger Marionette puppets. It's recommended you call to reserve tickets rather than just show up because it's a very small theatre. There is ample free street parking. They have shows in the 1st and 4th Sunday's of the month. Occasionally they will have weekday showings. They are great at responding to my emailed questions.

3/24/26: To begin, I'd like to thank all the veterans who've served our country…read more -The NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a museum that everyone should visit and learn about history. - My first visit was about two weeks ago on a Tuesday. According to the website they're open on Tuesdays. However, when we arrived, it was closed. So we walked the grounds and observed the outside monuments. (The website only mentioned of an event at 5 PM that day). -On Tuesday March 24th, I telephoned the museum only to receive a recording of scheduled hours and some other info. I did leave my telephone number for the manager to return my call. I didn't want to drive almost 40 miles down to Homdel, just to find out they were closed again on a Tuesday. Never received a call back. -However, I'm not going to let this issue detract from my rating this time. - Anyway, it was a beautiful day and we decided to take a drive down to the museum. (Luckily, they were open). -The museum has several beautiful and poignant monuments honoring the veterans upon entering the building. -During our visit, we sat in a large circle within the larger museum circle with a large high school group. About six Vietnam veterans told us their stories. Each story was so emotional moving. - Most of the museum is a circular building. Best description of the museum is as follows: The lower wall portion has wars and political events. It begins around the time of World War I and finishes at the end of the Vietnam War. -The upper wall half has US Culture photos and written info. that correspond to the lower wall. For example: The TV show "All in the Family" , Gloria Steinem (Women's rights advocate) and President Nixon were displayed above the Vietnam War. -In the back, there's a meditation garden dedicated to the women who served during Vietnam War. All the outside grounds are beautifully maintained. -The museum does have a gift shop. -Allow yourself a minimum of one and a half hours to throughly see the entire museum. -The NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial Museum is located off the Gardenstate Parkway Exit #116 next to the PNC Arts Ctr. Holmdel, NJ.

#ThankyouThursday…read more.. It's certainly not big and is located on the Grounds of the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel , New Jersey. The actual museum itself is closed but one can park in their lot these days. Take a stroll on down the path to this Memorial. It's almost like an amphitheater. Full circle of the 1500 plus Jersey residents that perished in the Vietnam War. The 365 actual stones are dates that I believe for every day of our calendar year. Much respect for all those souls that served our country. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area. Would like to come back when the museum is open again.
