The new owners are doing a nice job. We were there May long weekend. Gagnon Beach was a wonderful place to spend our family trip. The campground was very quiet, the sounds of the birds and the wind were so relaxing. They had the cleanest bathrooms the staff and volunteers were terrific. I would recommend this campground to anyone seeking peace and relaxation. Five stars!!

I really got to see how beautiful New Brunswick is…read more Fact: I was born in Moncton so basically all I know of NB is Moncton and a few areas in between. Bouctouche is absolutely gorgeous and the eco center offers so much! It is a well preserved natural saltwater beach. You overlook the ocean to see dunes, marshes (which is natural habitat for birds and wildlife) and a sight of wind turbines line the horizon. The beach is pristine and I was insanely excited to see all of the seashells scattered everywhere. They leave them as part of the natural preservation as other creatures use them as homes. I rarely see shells when I go to the beach anymore so this was special to me. It is a 1/2 km walk across the boardwalk here which overlooks the dunes. They have several stairways down onto the sandy beach areas and you get many different perspectives of the landscape. Truly a natural treasure that you definitely don't want to miss when in the area. Tourists and locals alike will enjoy this beautiful piece of nature.

You can choose between warm and shallow lagoons and the Atlantic. Also great for a walk in the Park, where you will meet lots of squirrels and gulls, the occasional Racoon and with just a little bit of luck even a moose or white tails. I've never seen one, but according to the national park informations you can also see whales, dolphins and seals.

Excellent nature trails for hiking or cycling. Kellys Beach is excellent. It is located on the middle of three offshore dunes, all with fine sand. Paved parking in abundance, snack bar, washrooms, showers and boardwalk access to the beach. The northern and southern dunes require a boat (rentals available in the park) or a determined swim (NOT recommended) to get to them. The middle dune is 6.7 km end-to-end, the northern 4.5 km & the southern 7 km. At the seaward end of the boardwalk there is a supervised swimming area used by families. Tide fluctuation is minimal and the sea bottom is sandy and shallow so the water is considerably warmer than many other NB beaches. Turn left and walk 1.0 / 1.5 km south and the clothing-optional area begins. This is NOT an official nudist beach but c-o use is tolerated -- lewd conduct is NOT TOLERATED. There are lots of shells for the kiddies, lobster boats to watch offshore and if you walk all the way to the end of the middle dune you may have to share the beach with sunbathing seals -- no guarantee of that. There is a lot of space and few people south of the supervised area. Please keep our beach clean. Please note that in the early part of the summer the southern part of the middle dune is closed in order to permit undisturbed nesting areas for the endangered Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus).

This is an amazing park on the Bay of Fundy, which records the highest tides in the world. At low…read moretide you can walk out in the bay floor (watch out for algae and slippery mud - it can be *very* slick! Sturdy shoes and a bit of agility are a must even getting down the short staircase cut into stone at the primary entrance to get to the newly exposed bay floor. The rock formations are incredibly striking, and the tide levels shift so quickly even at this more expansive area of the bay, you need only wait for about 10 minutes to see the level change. (For a more dramatic change or to see the tidal bore, you need to go to South Maitland or Truro). The park is quite isolated and at least 20 mins off the more major roads, so you have to be committed to a visit. But it's an amazing place that has to be seen in person to really appreciate.

To get to the beach, you have to walk down (and up) like 5 flights of stairs. You can either walk…read morea bit downhill (15 minutes) to the stairs or take a shuttle for an additional fee. Given the stairs, I would suggest the shuttle. There are two lookout points above to see the rocks instead, one by the stairs and one that veers off before the path down to the stairs. We went at low tide and enjoyed seeing the rocks up close.
