I've been here a few times now, and it really hit me how many incredible nurses I've encountered but never properly acknowledged. In the moment, you're focused on the procedure--but it's the people who leave the lasting impression. A heartfelt thank you to Kenya and Jenn for taking such great care of me during both pre-op and recovery. Their calm, attentive approach immediately put me at ease. And to the entire OR team--about 5-6 nurses whose names I didn't have the chance to catch--your professionalism and seamless teamwork did not go unnoticed. Of course, I'm also incredibly grateful to my orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Lundeen, along with Alex Ernst, MD, and Lindsey Whitlock, CFA. I was referred to Doctor Malcarney by a physician I know (and trust), so I set up the appointment…read more MRI was ordered, and the PA (Shawna Fearnley, who is very professional), filled me in on what tendons were no longer attached to my Humerus, and what needed to be done reconnect them (surgery)! Following this meeting, I must have come across three other physicians who all recommended Malcarney, one operating room RN who highly recommended Malcarney, and a bunch of other people at our Health Club (Should be called a recovery club) who gave high praise to Malcarney for her work on them! So I had the surgery (can't say that it was great since I was out cold when she was operating on me), but I can say that Malcarney and all of her team members were outstanding in their communications, their follow-up, their bedside manner, their subdued yet appreciated sense of humor, and their positive attitudes! It was as good of an experience as one can hope for, and the rest is up to the PT and my ability to follow his instructions... In closing, I have to say that I appreciate Malcarney's approach and how she and the PA explained it all. I highly recommend her, as do apparently countless other former patients in and around the Reno Area...I think that speaks volumes! It would be helpful if there was an online link so patient could fill out in advance of their first appointment. Prominence Medicare required a $40 copay for the initial evaluation ($10/PT) and pre approved 16 visits. I had to suspend PT due to lower back pain and Dr requiring lumbar injections prior to an ablation therapy appointment and requested 6 weeks after ablation before resuming PT. Premiere closed my file until I could begin core strengthening PT in the future.

Initial phone appointment: Very friendly and informative and easy to get questions answered and make the appointment. A+ experience. Check-In: Front desk was upbeat, and even though they were quite busy, she made me feel welcome and made sure I understood everything and did not rush to get me set up. Added bonus. I'm a new patient and was given a tour of the office and various options they offer for treatment. I was impressed! I asked how long she had been with the practice and she replied, "How long do you think?" Then said just three weeks. If I were still in the business, I would do what I could to recruit her to join one of my companies! Then met the Chiropractor, Dr Melissa Perotti. I wish I had her energy! She confirmed the issues I had, asked knowing I had prior treatments at another office what type of adjustments I preferred and went to work! I experienced instant relief and told her which I've found important to communicate with providers. My sense was, everyone including the Doctor wanted to be there, enjoy helping people and have a commitment to patient care. Management begins with hiring and the front office even with a good doctor can really diminish a patient experience and I believe Dr. Perotti understands that and has not forgotten in her years of experience how to provide a very positive experience from that initial phone call, checking in, and checking out!

She was not knowledgable with recommendations or her answers to questions - I got a lot of "I don't know"s. And she was extremely rushed - the appointment was probably 5 minutes.

Last July 2025 I fell down my stairs and broke my left hip, I had to go to the emergency room and a doctor over at Swift Institute was on the Emergency side of it, and replaced my hip with a few screws. Well, the screws were coming out as I walked, so I saw Dr. Winkle back at great basin, and he said you're gonna have to have your hip totally replaced, as the screws are poking out.! I ended up in the hospital a few days after surgery with a stomach problem, and he actually came by to see me, and it had nothing to do with my hip, he just wanted to make sure I was OK! Absolutely incredible Dr, I highly recommend him and any doctor at Great Basin Orthopedics! The best! I needed a nausea medicine, and unbeknownst to Dr. Winkle the medicine he gave me for nausea also helped the stomach problem I was having so I could eat again, no other doctor has ever prescribed that medicine for me and I get these stomach issues a lot, we were really impressed! She listens and explains things well and it was really cool to have her show me MRI results of my back and explain what was going on in there. She was highly recommended by my physical therapist and I am very glad to have found her.
