I lived here from 02/2014-12/2015. I was approved for the month to month lease before new management, and I left while new management took over.
First off, there were no creepy people. The place had kids running around all the time. The unit has a timeless look to it, and it's right next to a public park, and recreation center. It's also a few blocks away from Downtown Village. When I lived in Glendora, I couldn't ask for a better place to hang my hat.
During previous management, the landscape was kept up better than the interiors. The building was old, and I find out later that a lot of the handy work was mickey moused in my unit. Also, the one bedroom had clearly never been thoroughly cleaned/prepped for me. And you know what? I couldn't ask for a better deal. The price and location was just right. I had no problems with neighbors and management.
When the new management took over, I didn't take warmly to them. Their on-boarding should have been smoother. They simply did not respected the tenants and our privacy. Every day there was a new note on my door, or a packet of papers I had to fill out, or a phone call, a text....are you available to discuss....? This and that is the new contract blah blah.
This is my biggest problem:
When I was hired with a new employer in Los Angeles, and I found a new place to live, the management company was renovating the damn place while I was still paying rent on it! I had 2 weeks left on my contract after the moving company left that apartment, but when I came back to pick up the rest of my boxes, all these nice amenities were already installed, like an A/C that was running the whole time while I was gone. On my electric meter.
Furthermore, new management still charged me from my deposit for all the cleaning fees, when I specifically called the company (and told the on-site manager) that I never received the place cleaned. The carpets were obviously a result of years of neglect.
So, the transferring of Parkview North into seemingly more competent hands, was not a success among many long-time tenants. A lot of us left during or after the process.
Make sure you look over your contract with this place, and ensure you follow the rules. The place is month to month. read more
