I love spin because it's a fitness party on a bike. A fitness party where your ass gets kicked and…read moreyou're sweating profusely, but you're still moving to the beat of the music. I'm a fan.
Spinco is a small fitness chain that has quite a few locations across Canada. Their Cloverdale location has been open a little under a year now, but their classes constantly have a waitlist. Try to book as early as you can, so that you can reserve a bike! This location is also located in a small plaza, so there is plenty of free parking around, which is really convenient.
If you've taken a class at Soulcycle or at the many other spin studios in Vancouver, Spinco's classes are set up the same way - 50 minutes long, a wonderful and energetic instructor leading the pack, a short weight workout, and loud, upbeat music. There are some people who aren't a fan of the loud blasting music, but I personally love it. I'm that person who constantly is blasting their music - in the car, through my earphones, in my room, so during a workout is no different. My ear drums will definitely not thank me later.
I've taken classes with Krisztina, Amanda, Wendy, and Melyssa at this point and all of them were awesome. They encouraged everyone to push themselves, but weren't too overbearing, and all had really great choices in music. I'm sure I'll take a few other classes with the other instructors, and I'm sure they're just as awesome.
Compared to other studios around town, Spinco is definitely more budget friendly. Budget friendly, a beautiful studio, fantastic music, great instructors, and an even greater workout? What else do you need?!
Overall, a really awesome workout experience that will leave you sweaty, yet accomplished. Oh, I'm also a fan of the little disco ball hanging from the center of the studio - it adds to the party!
