Our realtor, Craig, was amazing from start to finish. He helped us search for the right place and offered thoughtful, honest advice throughout the entire process. One thing we really appreciated was that we never once felt pressured to make a quick decision. Craig genuinely wanted us to find a home that we loved and that he himself would feel comfortable living in. He was also extremely diligent during the home inspection process, which gave us a lot of confidence and peace of mind. Craig went above and beyond in ways we never expected. He even took the time to make a YouTube video for my husband to show him how to handle a few DIY things around the house. On top of that, he had several hour-plus phone calls with my husband just to walk through the escrow process in detail and make sure we truly understood everything that was happening. That level of patience and dedication meant a lot to us. At one point Craig had even injured his foot, and despite that he still showed up to help us view homes. On top of all his professional accolades and knowledge, he's someone who is approachable and easy to communicate with, which is honestly a rare quality and something that made this whole process so much smoother for us. What really stood out to us about this team is that they're not just a realtor group. They're a group of people who ended up becoming our friends throughout this journey.     Thank you for the response. However, I need to clarify several key points for accuracy…read more I did not enter into or sign any lease renewal after my original lease ended in September 2025. Remaining in the unit does not constitute agreement to a new fixed-term lease, and I provided proper written notice to vacate on January 11, 2026, with a confirmed move-out date of February 10, 2026. Your response continues to reference a "holdover provision," but that does not override the requirement for a mutually executed lease agreement, which does not exist in this case. Under California Civil Code §1945, acceptance of rent after the expiration of a lease creates a month-to-month tenancy unless otherwise agreed in writing. No such written agreement exists here. Reframing a month-to-month tenancy as a fixed-term obligation after the fact is misleading. Additionally, I dispute the claim that a complete and compliant itemized statement was provided within the legally required timeframe. Under California Civil Code §1950.5(g), landlords are required to provide an itemized statement of deductions, along with supporting documentation, within 21 days of move-out. This requirement is strict, and failure to comply may forfeit the right to retain any portion of the security deposit. I have already requested documentation and noted inconsistencies in the ledgers provided, including duplicate and unclear charges. This matter is currently under formal dispute. I have requested supporting documentation for all charges, including the alleged "accelerated rent," which has not been substantiated with a signed agreement. I encourage prospective tenants to carefully review lease terms, renewal practices, and move-out accounting procedures before renting here.
