Several things to note.... The price of the apartment that they originally quote you, please add at least 2-300 dollars in fees on top of that. So if your rent is say 1,000 or more... add another 200-300 dollars in monthly fees( gate fees, garbage pickup fees, incidentals, etc) on top of that, and that is your monthly rent.( My apartment was supposed to be 1022.00 a month. I was paying like1270.00 and that's not including heat in the wintertime). The hallways reeks of marijuana, carpets are stained, etc. Also the apartments are totally outdated, countertops are painted over with regular latex paint. I was never late on my rent, yet when I had a problem with the another tenant that was trying to ruin my stay there, nothing was ever done about it, even after numerous complaints. This is a review for the month of January 8, 2025. This is my second review the first one they erase but this is a review to let anyone know who is going to rent from this apartment complex. They are very good at convincing you that it is a nice place, but it is not my halls are very nasty. The door on the outside they continue to keep open. I put in a work order last week certain things haven't been fixed for years at least two years I took off work this morning to wait for the maintenance crew to come. Do not move here unless you have no other options! I have a number of complaints. I have lived here since 2022, started off great they made everything seem so easy. I moved in the middle of the month so I was told I had to pay prorated rent and a security deposit of 1000 along with a $250 admin fee and $50 application fee. I signed a lease that said security deposit but they conveniently left the amount blank. I didn't think anything of it. Apparently after signing a lease that said "security deposit" all over it, I received a welcome letter that said I paid a $1000 risk fee that was non refundable. I am now planning to move at the end of my lease and When I questioned them about the $1000, the manger kept pointing to the welcome letter which backed up her reasoning for not returning my money. I am counting my loses, but I would never recommend this property EVER! I have had a bee hive in my patio roof every since I moved here and they have failed to permanently correct the issue, the roof needs to be tore down and replaced and they refuse to do so. To anyone that moves in 1004 Reyome apt 1H after 6/15/2025, you will be dealing with a hive forever if you take that unit. They will lie and tell you they will have it removed before you move in, but they will not! They also charge you $25+ for anything you place on the patio if it's not a patio set. $100 late fees, the kitchen counters in this unit are painted and easily damaged, and so much more . The application process started off smoothly, I was approved in one day's time, paid the $300 admin fee and was given a move-in date. I ran into some unforeseen scheduling issues and emailed the office at 6am on the day that I was scheduled to sign the lease and move in and I sent a second email later that same afternoon. I never received a reply from anyone in the office. I received a text message on Saturday that read simply "you have forfeited your $300". Can you say "UNPROFESSIONAL"? Then when I responded immediately letting the leasing agent know that I attempted to reach them twice the day before to request a different move-in date, she responded via text saying "we didn't see that" (I still have the text messages in my phone as proof). I was then told that I would have to pay another $300 if I wished to change my move in date. Keep in mind, nothing has been signed locking me into this date. No lease, no nothing. Only an application was submitted which does not indicate a move in date. And also keep in mind that the admin fee is to cover the costs of the background and credit check which was already completed 2 days before. So please help me understand why I would pay a 2nd admin fee when the work was already done 2 days prior??? Then the situation was escalated to a leasing manager who promised to escalate the issue to his manager and get back to me. I never heard back from anyone at the property. These people are con artists and cannot be trusted. Run! Do not rent from them! I have since found a much nicer place to call home. I've lived at Park West for over six years. It's not a bad place to live. They're very accommodating and a lot of people just don't realize there is a spectrum of Apartments here. There's luxury four bedrooms and there's studios. The lower rent units have a lot higher turnover and aren't treated as well, so people have to adjust their expectations to reality. I haven't had any problems with anyone here, and as long as you just live your life and aren't looking to mess with people, it's not a bad area. I live here with my 14 year-old son and there's no real gang problems to speak of, and the complex is nestled in a great corner of America called GRIFFITH, Indiana. It's actually not a bad choice to move here. They just redid the pools and if your air conditioner breaks, they'll bring you a new one. I decided to change units this year and Kristen was extremely helpful. I'm getting to change out to a fresh unit and I've been working with her this week. I was getting stressed out about moving. Maintenance requests go unanswered, garbage lies around in the hallways, the front door to the apartment is always open, packages routinely get stolen from here so I can't get anything mailed here, everything is dirty, nothing works, I could go on. When I moved into my apartment, it wasn't even a week until the first incident: the above apartment leaked into my bathroom. My ceiling was never fixed. WORST place to live! Poor communication all around. They just want money money money! Gun shots going off every other day, heat and ac NEVER work, bugs everywhere inside, people trying to break in and management only cares about whether you have your damn grill on the patio (not in use). Maintenance absolutely sucks and they half ass fix everything. Our bathroom tub is peeling because they painted it before we moved in and our closet doors break off at least 3 times a month. Our drains are constantly clogged to the point we had to start buying our own products to fix it. You have to go to the office instead of calling because no one can answer the phone which is extremely inconvenient to everyone who works a full time job. Let's not forget walking outside and seeing garbage all over the place, I have a dog and walking her is an absolute nightmare because I have to try and stop her from eating USED CONDOMS that were thrown out the window. I can't tell you how happy I am about the way I've been treated by the staff! April, the leasing consultant always sounds like she is smiling through the phone. She answered all my questions and then some. Nick, the assistant manager, is always helpful and makes sure I get to the right person. For 2 years I have had consistent plumbing issues in my unit that leave my toddler and I with sanitation issues such as the bathtub being filled with fecal matter and food that did not come from unit, grotesque sewage smells, and inconveniences such as not being able to use my shower. All of which compromise our health. Bayshore properties/Parkwest Apartments has no problem violating housing and sanitation codes that are not only set by the state, but are IN THE LEASING AGREEMENT. I know others with the same complaints. You count on tenants to be dumb enough to continue to pay for something without doing their research and knowing there rights. Imagine everyone knowing that the issues they have with this property violates a law. That's a class action lawsuit. Easily. Can't go lower. Every ceiling in our apartment collapsed on Christmas Night. I called five times, NO ONE responded. Our downstairs eighbor called 911. The people who lived above us had moved out in the middle of the night, leaving their apartment abandoned. Their apartment began flooding, The firemen told us and my son saw a huge amount of water exploding from the radiator in the bedroom directly above his room His ceiling was the first to collapse, then my roo. And the living room, Water damage destroyed at least 85% of everything I own. They have denied my insurance claim. When I did go in to try and get some of our belongings, a piece of my bedroom ceiling fell and hit me directly on my shunt and the part where I have nos skull left. Had to have brain surgery for a shunt revision. The "Contractors" caused further damage, breaking the few things I had left. The NEXT DAY they posted all these "Freeze Warning" signs all over the complex, what a joke. honestly my partner and I cannot wait to get the hell out of here, we have a tour of another place in just over a week, they never answer their phone, park West apartment never offer a tour because the photos on the web site are nothing like what your getting, we got a 20 year old stove scratches all over it, sink cabinet doors all uneven,I had to fix myself cause they never answer their phone to answer so you can speak to someone directly, you always have to leave a voice voice message and then never get back to you right away, and then you tell them rent will be a little late and right away they start sending out eviction notices even though you called and made arrangement and they accepted the request, it takes them days for a maintenance request and it's always half passed, we got a screen door replaced and it to the outer door and you have to close them both together and all three of the patio doors have locks but only the inside door actually does and then you notify them of arrangement for rent payment they accept it and 2 days later their slapping an eviction notice of your door. Do not, sign that contract until you read every word, cause they rushed us through ours and it's been awful living here, DO NOT RENT FROM PARK WEST APARTMENTS. when they actually do answer they are very rude and very dismissive about your concerns, and that bathtub in our apartment is chipping cause ours was painted over. it's not anything like the photos on their pretty website. we've been living here almost three years and we've had it with their nonsense, we're already looking for other places we'll break our lease is how horrible it is here. read more

My ceiling is leaking for the second time in two months, the heat in my room hasn't worked since I've been here. I put in multiple request and all they did was open the vents (something I could have done my damn self). 0/10 wouldn't recommend to NOBODY. This is my first apartment and my experience is horrible. I wish I didn't have to give a star to leave a rating because you all do not deserve any!!!!!!!!! You do not want to move here. These people are slumlords since it has changed over to PARKWEST!!! I have mold growing in my bathroom cabinet under the sink and they came to replace only the top of the sink NOT THE MOLDED PART. I told them they should have replaced both and they told me they would send some one back in a couple days. That was in December and no one has yet to come. My apartment was suppose to be painted as PROMISED BY MANAGEMENT when I resigned my lease. My daughter and myself moved all the furniture and no one came. My tub is peeling sooooooo bad and they promised to replace that in April when the weather broke and no one has came. They had been overcharging me for rent and when I mentioned it to Management, I was told someone would look into and credit my account. The lady who assisted me with getting my money back was fired or quit when she found out that they did in fact owe me money. I was sent an email by her in June and my money has yet to be credited. I was told they would see about credited me Lol. Needless to say I have a lawyer on top of it now to get what is owed to me. The apartments are very outdated, when they do showings they show an apartment they have made updates to but stick you in the ones that have been the same since the 1700s(little exaggeration but you get my drift) I was without heat for an entire winter and when maintenance came DRUNK he beat on the meter so hard he broke the dial to control the settings and the heat stayed on. One day I came in from work this past May and found my dogs severely dehydrated because the temperature was 90 degrees inside WITH the air conditioner on for 7hrs. I called and to my surprise (not really) NO ONE CAME OUT! Next day, same thing no one showed up. I had to go on YouTube to find a video to detach the wire that controlled the heat! Smh, I'm not sure when they will replace the meter...could be another 100 years. I'll more than likely have to hook it back up myself when the winter gets here. I've been living in this low down place 2 years now, there is always garbage all over the lot, the landscaping is horrible, the apartments have bug problems, heat goes out all the time, mold in apartments that have been painted over or grouted over to hide. This complex over charges you for poorly and cheaply apartments. The walls have been repaired so many times the walls are bumpy, paint it super cheap and poorly painted, the lighting around the apartments are porch lights, the flooring is done horrible with gaps all around the edges to the boarders of the walls, the ceiling have had multiple leaked and bulging from the terrible repair jobs, drains have mold , rest and lime staining, carpets are stained from constant usage over years, complex will not take accountability, nor will they work with you on anything no matter if it their own fault, the purposely do things in order to get tenants out of as much money as they can, and management has no consideration, modesty or consideration for anyone. I wish there was a 0 star option. I have lived in this apartment complex for 3 years and have submitted some of the same maintenance request 5+ times with no solution. My bathroom ceiling has been leaking since 2020. I have been waiting to get my carpet cleaned for 9 MONTHS! They started a "valet waste" program with the increase of rent by $15 and get this, THEY DONT VALET ANYTHING. Every year my rent is raised by at least $50 and every year im waiting on the same issues to be fixed! The only reason I still live here is because im rarely home so these issues don't bother me as much. There is trash everywhere outside and the washing machines don't even work. You are charged an amenity fee for things like a gym and an indoor pool that have been closed for over a YEAR. The rent prices you see are far from the actual price you still have to pay for all utilities separately(water, gas, electric). You are charged for A/C units monthly. They tow all guest who don't have a parking permit and every unit is only issued two. The towing company is full of crooks and will not answer the phone or tell you no one is at their yard with the intention to keep your vehicle as long as possible to get more of your money. They are promoting people to move in because no one wants to live here but sadly we still do. read more

I am breaking my lease almost half way through because for starters I have 3 jobs I work and I need my sleep and people love to play loud music really early morning and night for almost half an hour and yes they don't do crap about it after you call many times and I'm not even joking about 30minutes and they have even played it for an hour while smoking marijuana in their car, there is beeping sounds that always seems to go off every few weeks by the fire alarm and it's soo annoying listening to it through the bedroom and if I call many times it doesn't ever get fixed by maintenance until its already really late by that I mean in a week or two later, there is a dangerous pitbull on the property which many neighbors told me killed a dog and had recently almost killed another one not too long ago and the owner leaves him off leash which is dangerous for anyone's kids and people living in the apartments and my girlfriend which has seen it so please do not approach. I don't want to have to fear for the safety of my family so I'm leaving. People smoke weed in the apartments and yes they don't care if you have a baby they will smoke regardless. My rent for just one bedroom was $760 for first month which was at its lowest but after that it now averages out at $800 and has gone as high as $830! Not even a house payment is that high. I'm getting a house for 120k with 3 bedrooms and my mortgage is only going to be $800 with an fha loan. This is ridiculous. How do you guys expect me to pay the rent if you guys can't even fix these problems so I can sleep in peace and exactly get to my job AND THEY STILL HAVE THE AUDACITY TO CHARGE ME 2 MONTHS WORTH OF RENT! for breaking my lease because of their own fault for having safety and peace lssues and I still have to give two months notice and live there for 2 more months and by that time my lease would almost be up so why charge me two months worth of rent, just WHY? also forgot to mention that the room they show for display purposes looks almost nothing like the apartment building you will live in. I lived here for four years. It started off ok, but when they changed management and names it all went downhill. They charge and amenity fee for the gym that I didn't use and the pools. They stopped opening the outdoor pools and they'd be open every other summer. But that amenity fee was rolled into the rent every month. I had a couple mice to deal with and all kinds of bugs. I had so many marks on the walls from killing bugs it wasn't funny. But what did it for me was when the squirrel came to visit by chewing through the window screen. Imagine my surprise when I walk into the bedroom and it is running around trying to figure out how to get out. I immediately called maintenance and it took them over an hour to send someone. The whole time I had to keep yelling at the squirrel to stay in the bedroom. Finally when maintenance came he asked why I didn't go "beat the hell out of it with a broom." It took him so long to arrive, by the time he did the squirrel had figured out to go back the way it came and had exited the building. I was left to clean up the squirrel pee and poop that had been left all over my bedroom. It also took them over a month to replace the two screens the squirrel had chewed through, so it was a hot spring for me. I was also promised for two months that the tree limb would be cut down over my window that let the critter in. When I moved out 9 months later it was still there. If you do move in and you decide to move out, don't forget to have the carpet cleaned. They'll charge you for it no matter what condition it is in if you don't have a receipt for carpet cleaning. They charge you $25 for valet garbage service. Someone is supposed to pick my trash up every night, THEY DON'T. I am right next to the trash dumpster so I can walk my trash out. I'm not even going to get started on the one dumpster they gave for all these units, the parking lot looks like the city dump!!!! 5. They charge you a $69 blind rental fee, 6. I literally had to stalk them to get this process finished. I moved an entire week after my initial move in date. 7. Move in day, they gave me the wrong keys & wrong address, I was wondering why my apartment had been switched.Ask to see the actual apartment you will be moving in, they show you perfect model apartments. Mine has SOME poor upgrades done. It's a joke of a remodel. 8. Here is the pièce de résistance. IT WAS NASTY! I was livid. However. I maintained my composure & contacted them. They told me they would send someone out the next morning. Didn't happen. So another day passes. Get there & the apartment is still NASTY!!!! Along with repairs not made on broken items. 9. They immediately start gaslighting me " I'm so sorry, I don't know how this could have happened,I have my boss here on the phone she's going to give you TWO DAYS CREDIT, I have yet to receive my credits & now I'm being ignored. I was very reluctant to move in because the they had a horrible reputation.I noticed them trying to gentrify the property & gave them the benefit of the doubt. First let me say I would not even give it one star but that is my only option. I have lived here since 2012 I have always paid my rent and I am so ready to leave this place I am leaving very very soon. Since new management and the name change it has gotten horrible over here. I have had to deal with bed bugs twice I have had to deal with roaches horribly bad I have had to deal with mold growing out of my bathroom ceiling and not just mold but mushrooms as well. It takes them so long to come fix anything if they even fix it. They kept a hole in the ceiling for at least a couple of months before they came to fix the mold that was never fixed the leak was never fixed that was causing the mold all they did was patches up and paint over it I see dark spots again. They told my car for not having a parking sticker but I did have a parking sticker it was just in the wrong spot then they did not want to pay for my car being towed but I will not stop with this. I advise you do not move here the prices are way too high for what you are getting they want to have luxury prices but the apartments are not the luxury the laundry rooms are a mess with machines that work sometimes and they don't even want to get those fixed it's horrible don't do it. read more

I lived in this complex from 2015 through 2019. The carpet was awful and no one came to clean it although I was informed that they would. In the winter the ceiling was leaking and maintenance told me they couldn't do anything to fix it until the weather broke. Once the weather broke, it was absolute hell trying to get them to complete the job. One maintenance man told me there was black mold up there and tore the ceiling down leaving an unsightly hole up there for a few weeks. They horrendously patched it up eventually. In 2019 I called the office to inquire about a 60 day notice to vacate considering I had to move for a new position. They informed me that in doing this, it would not effect my credit and I just had to provide a letter in writing with my info and forwarding address as well as the day I planned to be out of the apartment. I also would have to pay rent until the day I left. I agreed and submitted a very thorough letter with my forwarding address, email, and phone number and the day I would be completely gone. I returned the keys, cleaned the apartment to a better condition than I got it in and paid my rent accordingly. After being gone for several months, I decided to contact them because I hadn't heard from them since I left about my security deposit. They never answered nor returned my calls after I left them messages, never responded to my emails, never contacted me by mail. Ironically, a few weeks after my final email, I received a COLLECTIONS letter in the mail for over $1000 claiming I had debt with the complex. I called again to see why they wouldn't have just contacted me and of course, per usual no answer. I finally get a call back one day (near closing time) from Marcy Williams and she tells me that they had no way of contacting me. I was like, "But you have my 60 day notice correct?" And she responds with yes, but you have to pay the full time through your original lease. None of this makes sense because that would have meant that my collection bill would have been higher and that was NEVER communicated. She tells me I have to handle it with collections. I am mortified!!! I had been a resident for years and never once caused any issues for them to in turn treat me this way! I do NOT recommend. Let's start with none of the office people communicate with each other, my lease is up in three days I've been slowing moving out a month now and was to completely moving out today. Spoke with the office manager she said my last payment will be forwarded to my new address so that I could get on a payment plan. Get to the apartment to clean it out and they changed the locks, threw away all my stuff and didn't call me at all and said it was considered apartment abandonment (Also no eviction papers). All my father had in his pockets when he died in the garbage along with my social security card, birth certificate and the alarm system I had to return to the company now I'm going to have to pay for. Plus all my childhood pictures all in the trash due to poor communication of a staff that's running a complex of 1500 apartments. How do you not communicate with each other... DON'T MOVE HERE! I currently live in this apartment complex and I have had issue after issue since week 1 of moving here. My apartment was wired incorrectly so the 2nd week moving here I began to notice electric issues. The lights would go out for days every weeks and when I would attempt to try the switches in each room I noticed that the kitchen switch would turn on the light in my bedroom. The bathroom switch would turn on the light in the living room. and I'd request for maintenance to come in to access at which point they would proceed to flip all the switches in the breaker box in my closet. When that did not solve the problem they promised to send out an electrician. This happed on 4 different occasions and the electrician came out only on the last complaint. Most recently 4 months before the end of my lease I found out that electric services would be moved to a third party company and we would have to switch our services over to that company (NIPSCO) prior to the deadline or risk being charged a late fee. After switching my service over to NIPSCO I noticed that I was still being charged a late fee for failing to switch over. I called the office for 3 days with no answer. I then decided to miss work to go into the office and have the issue resolved. Upon going into the office I was able to prove that I was charged a late fee in error and it was removed from my bill. The following month I noticed that in addition to my NIPSCO bill I was also being charged for electric in me rent. I attempted to reach out to the office by phone with no success. Then I attempted to email the booking department and the property manager. 3 weeks passed with no response. I received a call after 3 weeks for a maintenance request that I had made for a leaking roof the month prior and was told by Lori (maintenance manager) , "Better late than never". I proceeded to ask Lori about office hours as I needed to discuss issues with my rent. She informed me that due to COVID 19 I could only come into the office by appointment. I said I understood but stated that I have been trying to call and make an appointment and no one will answer. She said well you should actually be emailing with rent issues. I reassured her that I had emailed on 2 separate occasions to booking and the property manager. She informed me that the property manager I had emailed does not work there anymore. So this run around currently continues and I still have yet to resolve my rent issue. Moving here has to be one of my BIGGEST REGRETS. read more

I've been here a month... I love my apartment they come exterminate when needed. But that's it! They are unprofessional and will make mistakes and will fault you for their internal issues. Someone in the leasing/billing office literally told me " it doesn't matter what XXX told you- you still have to pay the fees we are not gonna waive them" they messed up my paperwork and did not take responsibility and up charged me all type of extra fees that I've already consulted with a lawyer about who said they were illegal! these are rude money hungry people and as soon as my lease is up Im out . I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I just moved in a couple of days ago, I truly love the quietness in the community and I also loved my apartment as well. The people seem very friendly and the staff as well. Can't wait to use to pool in the summer and the billiard area. I also love that I am able to pay my bill on line, this is great, from the city living. read more

Please don't move here. They may have changed the name but it's still the same people and nothing about living here has changed. My mom moved in March 2017 and in April her apartment flooded. They did NOTHING except put a big fan in her apartment to dry the carpet which was soaking wet for weeks. The smell is horrible. We called management and they sent someone with a Smell-O-Meter? Yes, something they made up. Well needless to say the smell have gotten worse and I was afraid that under the carpet pads is mold. Because they were of no help I called a carpet cleaning company thinking that my help and of course this was at my own expense. The smell is still overwhelming. I called to see if they would at least pay half of the carpet cleaning bill since the smell was still there. After complaining they finally came to inspect the carpet and decided it did need to be removed. These people told me that they will remove the carpet and install wood floors. I said no because if my mom wanted wood floors she would have selected an apt with wood floors. My mom is going on 80 and falls sometimes and I explained that to them. Well they could care less about my mom. Then they had the nerve to suggest moving her to another apt at her expense. How can an 80 year old pack up her house and move herself. Of coarse NO HELP from them. For two months I've been trying to work this out with them and still no help from them. So my mom is still in an apartment that smells like a flooded basement. No one wants to smell that 24/7. We have referred so many people here and wished that we had not considering this is how they treat someone that 80 and living in a mold. Park West did give her a credit of $103 for splitting the carpet cleaning bill which totaled $206. They refuse to remove the old smelling carpet and replace it with new carpeting. They want to give her what they want and not what she want which is carpet. I bet they wouldn't want their mom in an apartment that smells like a flooded basement. I can't wait for her lease to expire so that she can move. In addition to that me and my family is moving too as soon as our lease expires. I also all the people we referred will be moving too. Whenever I need help they are willing to go the extra mile. I also love being able to bring my kids to the indoor pool, and I also love the 24 hours' gym because I can never get to my gym.
