On the day we visited this park workers were setting up the holiday decorations. There was someone on a crane working on the Christmas tree and another gentleman setting up the snowman with the faces cut out for photo ops. We stopped originally to see the iconic Lafayette sign, and quickly found that it too had been decorated for the holidays Unfortunately, the y was missing so we had to use our bodies to make our own y in our photos, but that's fine.
The park was not super busy when we were there so we were able to find street parking, but it's easy to see that at a busy time. It might be difficult to find parking here. I was also a little sad that the parking was metered, because typically you don't have to pay to go to a park.
There was a family with a little girl enjoying all of the nice ice playground toys. They were having a great time and honestly I was jealous of the little Marigold around and the trampoline. I would definitely bring my children here if I had some.
The other reviews speak about undesirable people and the undesirable location and I won't disagree that there is definitely an element of that at this location, but I wouldn't let that keep me away from this community resource. read more
