Pretty standard strip mall in the South part of Joplin which contains a whole bunch of offices and insurance companies and things like that. It doesn't get too horribly busy even though it has masses of stuff in here. Real estate here is pretty cheap and even though the plaza could use a little spruce up and paving it's perfectly fine.

The exterior of this store is very deceiving because it looks tiny, but it's actually enormous (just not very wide across the front). It is not well marked by signs, and I almost drove past it but it is right next door to McDonald's and a large attached convenience store (near the highway). They accept credit and debit cards, which is a plus in my book. Awesome store.

Menards is more than a hardware store, it's got a wider selection of many items than typical…read morehardware stores plus dry goods groceries, artisan or craft jelly's and jams, lots of Spreckers soft drink flavors from Milwaukee. A great garden center and a smart home center where you can design and order entire houses! We found plenty of friendly help who seemed engaged and ready to help if you needed it. It's a fun store to shop combining a great selection, competitive prices and several ways to get into the parking lot. Some people will be able to do all their shopping here with canned and dry goods, cleaning supplies, bathroom soaps and lotions, snacks, frozen foods and many upper Midwest canned goods like honey and jams. It's hard to call it a hardware store, maybe a home center, lumber yard, construction supplies, grocery store and garden center? Whatever way you define it, Menards is a welcome shopping experience in Joplin. Check it out!

Working there good luck getting more then 10 to 16 hr a week and when I found another job instead of letting me take my 2 week notice for the future opportunity of ever coming back they removed me from the schedule completely. It's owned by a Scottish fellow and his wife, so they went with a really fun Scottish theme & tartan everywhere...although small, it's definitely a cheerier version of the standard antique mall with dreary stalls. Debra is incredibly friendly and welcoming! On my visit, I only found a few little treasures I couldn't leave without, but they are still in the early days and adding new vendors. Of course prices and items varied by stall, but the quality was great overall (so much neat stuff!) and prices seemed fair, especially on home furnishings. I will definitely add Tartan Traders to my rotation for secondhand shopping trips!
