The lack of communication and accountability is extremely disappointing. I will not be ordering from this company again and will be disputing the remaining charge with my credit card company. Sometimes it is hard to know where to find certain items as they have such a large variety and it is spread throughout the store. Very unique items and imagine this could be a decorators dream come true. We have purchased some items here in the past. Coupons are available by sighting up on their email mailing list. If you do this you will be bombarded with Kirklands emails with coupons and deals. This is great if you are a shopper though obnoxious if you get tired of a jam packed email inbox.

It's located in the South part of Joplin Missouri and is in a pretty nondescript shopping plaza across the street from a Thai restaurant and they sell lots of discounted goods and they hardly ever have anyone in here so it makes for a really great discount store and I'm honestly not sure how they stay in business with these prices on so many products and often being so quiet (at least the few times I've been by here or in here) but I'm glad that they do as they are a great discount store and better than most dollar stores and a true credit to Joplin and what is coolest of all is that this was a really long sentence to signify the fact that it'll probably be a really long time until I come back here again and anyway I think it's time to wrap this up now like another really long thing when you're not someone that wants to have kids.

There is also a disconnect between the stores and the company. I purchased two things both with a five dollar mail in rebate several years ago. I ask them to ring them up separately because on both it said you need the original receipt to be sent in. The guy who, after a long wait in line when it was not busy, checked me out was the manager. He told me I could just put it together and he would print two receipts. I said ok. After I payed he took the one receipt to the back and just copied it. I sent off both rebates (two separate addresses) and the one that was copied was rejected. I went back to the manager who did the same as me, called them to explain it and got nowhere. They still owe me $5. It's not about the five bucks, it's the fact that they won't make it right even after the manager of the store calls them. I am being generous to give them 3 instead of 2, but that is because they do have good products.

It is smaller than the TJ Maxx's I frequent, but still plenty of great deals and merchandise. It's currently under renovation to expand the dressing rooms. I just noticed The Body Shop products in TJ Maxx this week. I am not sure if this is new to the chain or I am just now noticing it. I am not really a Body Shop girl, but for those who are - - might be some good deals. This location seemed to have an abundance of salon quality hair products - Matrix, Rusk, Big Sexy Hair, etc. Seriously, I use to by my products from the salon (years ago)...not a chance I would do that now. No reason to waste the money when you can find them so much cheaper at places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's. I wear Saucony Oasis tennis shoes. They were over $100 when I first bought them in a running store. For months now, I have found these same Saucony's in TJ Maxx for $34.99. Oh yah!. I have them in every color. I actually had not seen them in a bit, but luck was on my side and found a great pair of purple ones. Yep, another pair of cheap Oasis added to the collection. I also love unique stationery and cards. I found the cutest box of Chihuahua greeting cards. They weren't a great "deal" (but I am tight!), but I had to have them. I regularly shop at these similar types of stores (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Gordman's, Ross) and this location had some quality stuff from cosmetics, shoes, clothing to housewares. While it was very fun to browse and the woman at the counter was nice and talkative, I don't think the booths are organized or clean enough for the prices a lot of them are charging. I saw a package of Coca-Cola stickers for $9.99! One package! That's just too much. There are definitely some good deals but you REALLY have to be willing to hunt. Some of the booths literally just have crap piled on the floor. And watch out! If you break it, you buy it! Even if it was teetering atop a pile of dusty baskets and baby dolls! I do think it's worth it to stop in just for the sheer enjoyment of looking inside. Just be warned that you're unlikely to be able to look at everything safely. I do want to mention - I LOVE that they have shopping baskets! Every antique mall should provide these and so few do!

It's owned by a Scottish fellow and his wife, so they went with a really fun Scottish theme & tartan everywhere...although small, it's definitely a cheerier version of the standard antique mall with dreary stalls. Debra is incredibly friendly and welcoming! On my visit, I only found a few little treasures I couldn't leave without, but they are still in the early days and adding new vendors. Of course prices and items varied by stall, but the quality was great overall (so much neat stuff!) and prices seemed fair, especially on home furnishings. I will definitely add Tartan Traders to my rotation for secondhand shopping trips!
