The farmers' market is outside and I suspect this place gets pretty busy on the weekends. The street parking is plentiful and I found the shop pretty easily. I was greeted by the owner (Kristin) as well as a few 'regulars,' knitters sitting at a table, crafting together. Kristin was unpacking a new shipment of my favorite yarn in new colors. Suffice to say, one of those skeins never even made it to the wall and came home with me. The selection is much larger than the shop size would suggest. The variety is impressive with known global brands and local products. Plenty of tools and supplies are avaible as well. The prices are competitve and I easily could have spent more time and money.

The search function is a little more helpful than other sites I have been to. Their selection of products also seems a bit broader. I also like their website design, it's aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. Up to this point in time my orders are always filled in a timely manner and I haven't had any mishaps. My one complaint is that they don't let you choose your shipping carrier. They use FedEx and I would prefer they did not. I have had bad experiences with them in the past and would rather not give them my business.

Well, 6 months rolled by and we were told it would be at least another 2 months. So I finally decided to cancel the order and asked if they would split the deposit with me (I was only asking for 1/2 the deposit amount back) - they told me no. I can't imagine the person making it had it made and/or not even had the wood yet for the project and even if they had the wood, it could have been used for another order from someone else. Just make sure if you purchase something you really want it and are willing to wait for it for a long time. We were very disappointed that they would not work with us at all on the partial deposit refund. Not good customer service or way to keep a potential future customer.

I cannot say enough about Ginis Goldsmiths of Midland, MI…read more We stopped in for an estimate/to get ideas, at the recommendation of my father who has had jewelry made here, and didn't even bother to go anywhere else. My engagement ring is a pear-shaped diamond with a tapered band and I couldn't find a wedding band that fit nicely against it. Ginis Goldsmiths had some ideas that I liked and so my fiance and I returned to meet with him and design/order our rings. For my wedding band: Dave, the owner, created a beautiful design, provided an estimate and gave some advice and answered many questions about why he was choosing this number of stones or that type of milgrain. Dave is very clearly an expert in his field and he was wonderful to work with. For my fiance's wedding band: my fiance had a very specific idea of what he wanted and Dave helped him to design it and pick something that would look nice on his hand and feel comfortable (my fiance is an outdoorsman and has never worn a ring before). He also helped us pick something that was durable and safe (ie: could be cut off in the ER if needed). Dave's wife, Adra, kept us updated via email and phone about the status of our rings. She was flexible with pick-up. Best of all, the rings came in slightly under budget. Working with Ginis was a pleasure and we will absolutely be back.
