I went to the Joann Fabrics at the Midland location on the Saturday before Labor Day. The store was dead, maybe 6 other people. I asked the woman cutting fabric for some guidance since she had no customers. She was curt, bordering on unfriendly, and of no help what-so-ever. I wanted to know what interfacing was for and if it were necessary when sewing with vinyl and fur and what bias tape was for (I'm a beginner). I had an idea what it was for but wanted to be sure. Her response was "You shouldn't be trying to sew this, it too difficult for you." I was totally deflated. I had been excited to get started on this project but came home feeling unenthusiastic. Because of her attitude and treatment I didn't purchase the fabric I needed because I didn't want to deal with her again. I ordered what I needed from an online fabric site. This may not be the way other employees behave but I'm going to think twice before going there again. If there were any other fabrics store close by I wouldn't ever go there again.
