I am not sure why this place has not been reviewed yet. The clerk was really friendly too. They even sell fresh cut flowers here. They carry pretty jewelry too.

The flowers for the ceremony were beautiful, appropriately subtle, and each bouquet and boutonniere was thoughtfully arranged. My bouquet was absolutely everything I ever imagined in a bridal bouquet! Daisies and greens, with quiet touches of purple of blue, it was classically gorgeous. She encouraged me to think outside the box by suggesting I request a special table arrangement that my reception hall did not typically do - the head table was placed at the center of the room, loosely dividing the room in two, and was surrounded on each side by guests. This was such a cool idea on her part! The guests and wedding party were easily visible to one another and were able to mingle throughout the reception. It also made for flattering photos, as we weren't placed on a dais. Looking back on the big day, I believe that one suggestion of hers was a key component to the reception; one that made it unique, beautiful, and outrageously fun. As for the reception arrangements, they absolutely made our reception! They were easily my favorite part of the party! Toni created a topiary for the head table that was unlike any I have ever seen - it was probably 5 feet tall and it spilled down like a chandelier. Utilizing greens, whites, and woods, Toni went the extra mile in matching my color palate - she dangled delicate gold floss from the branches that floated gently in the breeze of passing guests. The arrangements at the guest tables and entrance tables were nothing short of grand. The flowers added so much to the atmosphere that I couldn't imagine the reception without them. And the best part of it all? Nothing they created was in any way a cliche or overdone. They completely understood my aesthetic (classic, with slight modern touches like succulents) and avoided everything I asked for (not a fan of roses, red or white) without a fight. If I learned anything during the planning of my wedding, it was the fact that most businesses try to convince the consumer to do things the easy way or the way they like to do things best. I struggled to have my wedding look and feel exactly the way it did, even when I didn't think I was asking for too much. That is, until I went to G.T. Homestead. The people there were as helpful as could be, and they even offered to coordinate with my reception hall, which saved me a lot of work! They supported me, my point of view, and did everything they could to make my wedding beautiful and memorable - and it was! If you're thinking about florists for your event, I highly suggest G.T. Homestead. They are wonderful people who do incredible work, and if I could rate them any higher for their contributions to my wedding, I would!

Cute little boutique featuring rustic/farmhouse/shabby chic home decor…read more I stopped in last week and thought the name of the store looked familiar to me. It was and for good reason- it's the sister store of a home decor shop in Tawas City that I remember shopping last summer. That store was super cute and kinda eclectic and so was this one. The store just opened in April and is very much like the shop up north. They mirror each other pretty well, from layout and service to selection and price point. Customer service was nice and attentive and the stock was ample, showcasing plenty of "farmhouse chic" type of decor- candles, vases, furniture, clocks, artwork, signage, etc, much of it in a rustic, upcycled motif. The prices are kinda on the high end for even simple items, but the furniture was pretty reasonably priced. Some of the pieces are pretty garden variety and nothing that unique or that you can't get at Target for much less, but other items (larger pieces) are rather interesting and worth a real look. Overall, a nice store with great service and a mid-range price point for the most part.
