Oh, baby! I'm not sure if you've noticed, but occasionally I suffer from a fever. These fevers tend to hit extremely hard, my brain begins to ache, a feeling comes over me that is incredibly overwhelming, I somehow transform into the Hulk. Doctors call it... Vinyl Fever. Did you think I was referring to something else? Ah, now I realize how misleading that sounded! Jokes aside, Park Ave. has solidified itself as one of the top record stores in Florida. Hands down. Stacks of records are readily labeled and tuned for flicking. First impressions? Incredible selection of 45's, take the time to vet through the pack. Had to purchase a Joy Division single on clear vinyl of "Love Will Tear Us Apart / Leaders of Men." Full LP's are plentiful and not for the faint of heart. The classic names are ample, but it's the moderately popular / slightly underground bands that come out on top at Park Ave. On top of all that, there's record equipment, books, cd's, posters, t-shirts, stickers, etc. Already plotting next return to Orlando just so I can spend a few hours at Park Ave! read more

After a busy holiday, I finally got the chance to get down to Park Ave CDs and buy Letter To You from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. But before I could get into the store, I had to wait in line outside which is marked off for social distancing. Keeping the number of shoppers to a minimum, Park Ave CDs will allow customers to come in and shop after a few customers leave. Wear a mask, and they provide you with a shot of hand sanitizer upon entry so your grubby little paws will not be grubby when going through the vinyl and CDs. After the gentleman opened the door for me to enter and gave me my shot, I proceeded to where the rock-n-roll CDs are and grab the new Bruce with my not so grubby paws. I could have spent an hour in here browsing, but knowing there are customers waiting outside, I wanted to be quick with my purchase. But I did take a moment to look at some funky kitchen towels on display. Whatever taste in music you have, you should be able to find what you are looking for. And Park Ave CDs also has a great selection of books, t-shirts, record players, and all sorts of fun stuff. There is a movement to support local businesses and shop local. So I am glad to do my part and come in here. Love this place! read more

Went to this store for the first time on Saturday. Was pleasantly surprised at all the items in the store. They have great vinyl but also have a very interesting book collection. Also lots of little tchotchkes that I had trouble not buying. Overall 10/10 would recommend. read more

I stopped in here for the first time this weekend and it's pretty cool store! My boyfriend's sister-in-law gave me a gift card to Park Ave CD's for my birthday and she raved about it. She said she spent a long time searching for good record stores in the greater Orlando area and told me this one is her favorite. So I had to check it out. It's pretty unassuming from the outside, but it's a really awesome find inside! (Isn't that always how it happens?) My boyfriend and I had recently purchased a record player and we had a few questions on getting it set up with our external speakers and the employees at Park Ave CDs were friendly and helpful with answering our questions. They sell some record players there as well if you're looking to buy a record player. They have a few different types. Their selection of records at the store is pretty extensive. They also have more than just CD's and records here, they sell books, movie posters, and funny socks and things in the back as well. Also FYI - they require everyone to wear masks in the store and will provide you one when you walk in if you don't already have one! read more

THIS. PLACE. IS. AWESOME. I just visited here for the first time after I heard they still had Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. My daughter and I are Swifties so we hopped in the car and made the one hour drive to get there. Super impressed by their selection and variety of items. Employees we all great, very friendly and knowledgeable - serious props to them for understanding the Taylor Swift demand and checking people out quickly! Park Ave is a GREAT place to shop for new vinyl! Their selection of modern/pop rock new LP's is some of the best I've seen in the country. The only places I've seen with a larger selection were Amoeba and Rough Trade and they win on volume not curation. The shop is laid out in long rows and you get right into the thick of it immediately entering the store. There you'll find the used CD's and the rock vinyl. What I believe sets Park Ave above many of their competitors is the organization. They used old-school dividers and labeled each with a label machine. Neat, easy to read and well separated I don't think you could ask for more. Oh and the title card comes after the artist, not before..... Park Ave does it perfectly. You want Johnny Cash? No problem. They have probably every release in print right now. Gram Parsons? Yup, and he has his own place card. The Stone Roses? Of course they do! I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. The only thing that keeps this from a 5 star, is not a large selection of used LP's. And I've been to Amoeba, so if that place is a 5, this isn't in that realm. But make no mistake, these guys are thoughtfully stocked, well staffed and priced better than almost any place I've been. They also carry some collectibles, books, t-shirts and posters but I was short on time so I had to stay in my lane. I hope to go back again and spend a few hours just going through the shop properly. 2020 has been weird, to say the least. After we went on lock down for a while, businesses slowly, but surely started to open back up but with new safety guidelines for customers and employees. I'm happy to report that Park Ave CDs has been handling this thing in the best possible way. For a while, they wouldn't let customers inside. You would call in advance, and they would bring your records out to your car. Now that restrictions are easing up a bit, Park Ave is back in business. I know buying records isn't exactly considered "essential items" by conventional standards, but it is to me. Music is therapeutic, and there is nothing quite like place the needle on your favorite record and relaxing as if everything is going to be ok. I stopped by Park Ave recently just to browse, and I'm impressed with the way they're handling business. When I got there, the door was locked. This indicated to me that they're only allowing a certain amount of customers inside at a time, and that is 100% A-Ok in my book considering how easily crowded this place used to get. As soon as you walk in, an employee spritz some sanitizer on your hands because what do you do at a record shop? You use your hands to browse through records. This is a smart move to ensure the safety of customers and staff. Everyone working there are wearing masks at all times and they've mandated a masks-only policy which I hope the rest of the state of Florida would follow suit. You can read my thoughts on Park Ave CDs on my previous review. They're still awesome, and they're still one of my favorite places in Orlando, especially for music lovers. If you're kinda iffy about venturing into newly reopened businesses, Park Ave has got you covered. This has been the weirdest year I've ever experienced but going out and purchasing some records by your favorite artist is absolutely therapeutic in these uncertain times. Thumbs up to the Park Ave CDs team for taking a responsible approach to COVID-19 as well as still being the best place in Orlando to shop for music. These guys helped me rekindle my love for vinyl. I haven't had a turntable since high school which was a notoriously horrible crosley suitcase player. Soon I resorted to purchasing vinyls again without a player just to feel something. Eventually I was ready to drop an unnecessary $500 on a new setup. But a couple days ago a very helpful man (maybe the owner) crash coursed me on what makes a good sound. He suggested their starter kit which was only $225 (which I HIGHLY recommend). It came with everything I needed including 25 protective sleeves and an adorable crate. The nice cashier helped me carry everything to my car. The sound quality is miles better than I could ever imagine especially with the speakers' adjustable bass and treble. I can't thank them enough for saving one of my hobbies! read more

Visiting for spring break and decided to check this place out. It felt like being in a Peaches store back in 86... But better and more welcoming. Just flipping through the records was a blast. I have to come back though, and finish my digging around. Place has a nice friendly vibe and groovy visuals. Can't wait to return on my next visit to the area. My one suggestion would be for the clerks to not put price stickers on the used album jackets front and center. Putting them on the backside would work just as fine, and preserve the front image. Best record store ever! They have a great collection of tons of albums and CDs from many artists of all genres. They also have a bunch of interesting books, plushies, and your not so typical sodas in the back. Staff is super friendly and are very willing to help you out when you're looking for something specific. Once they gave me and my fiancée free cupcakes from the Blue Bird Bake Shop! The store even hosts live music events and sets up a stage. They also sell tickets for concerts around Orlando so you don't have to deal with ticketmaster fees. This is definitely a place worth checking out if you're in the area or you're looking for a nice record store. read more

Found fantastic stocking stuffers for the adult kids in our life. Will definitely return when looking for a gifts or party favors for future celebrations or events. Walked in for the first time not expecting to walk out with a brand new record. A little overwhelmed at first with the selection, but found it fun to flip through to find some of my favorite artists. As I was looking, I was a little thrown off by the signage. It could have been better and more clear. Sometimes the whole bottom row went in order and sometimes the order went top and bottom across the row, so it got confusing. I was also disappointed that none of the staff said hello nor approached me to offer any help. I would think in a local shop they would pay a little more attention to their customers, but not having distractions allowed me to dive into the journey of flipping through the racks. It was interesting to see they sold not only records but CD's, book, card games, handbags, and even cassette tapes. If you're looking for any of the expansion packs of Cards Against Humanity, this is your place. They even have the unofficial, unauthorized expansion pack, Crabs Adjust Humidity. My kids went to some karaoke event a few years ago here, and ever since then they haven't shut up about "poppa punk" Listen, their dad doesn't like punk so I'm not sure what the heck (pardon my language) was goin on there. He's a country and jazz kinda guy. Or maybe they said "pop punk". Either way, soda pop is not allowed in this house because if my kids have too much sugar, they're gonna... you guessed it, they're gonna want to play punk music. Whatever's goin on at this record place is okay in my books though because whenever my kids visit this place they come happy and that's what matters most. Some of the music they bring home isn't so bad, some of me it makes me run around the house in circles because I like it so much. My kids said I was doing a "circle pit". As usual, she managed to exceed her budget; and, I financed here the next 4 weeks of her allowance to satisfy her musical cravings. With the Vintage event going on in the parking lot, Park Avenue CDs was busy, busy, busy. As such, my wife and I took a break a the local brewpub. Solid shop. I found this place in a remote strip mall. The store is organized well - easy to find things after getting your bearings. A lot of new vinyl stock lines the vast majority of their bins. Used records are found in the back, which makes it easier than having to look through all the bins if you are just looking for used vinyl. Kudos for that alone! Pricing was competitive and fair for used and new alike. I spent a good 30-40 minutes browsing all their vinyl bins and left with two (used) pieces. For those inclined, they also have cd's, t-shirts, plus assorted books and knick knacks. From other reviewers, this seemed to be the consensus stop for best shop in the area. I can see why they'd get that rep. I did venture later in my trip about 30 minutes west to Claremont and Triangle Records. Check my review out if you'd like, but they give this store a run for their money. If you had limited time and funds, I'd encourage you to check these guys out, especially if you are an out of town vinyl enthusiast. read more

Support your local small businesses! I love Park Ave, it's one of the only places left in town that you can buy vinyl and CDs of your favorite music and get something by local artists. I've bought my Kaleigh Baker, Supervillains and Andy Machette albums here for years now. My last few visits I was shopping for gifts and they've got you covered for that too. Everything from music, Tshirts, those obnoxious pop vinyls, books, novelty socks and all the unique gifts that you'd see in an Urban outfitters without the pretentious staff or inflated prices. Subscribe to their Facebook posts for updates on private concerts, show ticket sales and more. Artists often stop at this shop to do small private performances, signings and meet and greets. Check their calendar for upcoming concerts at ALL the local venues and buy tickets there! Oddly enough, I'm obsessed with their book selection, they truly stock all the titles to my very specific tastes. No need to search through amazon, I can pick up a title that I'm sure to love here. This place has catered to my soul like no other, I came, I saw, I bought all the things and I got the T-shirt. read more

5 Stars for a local spot that is functionally fabulous and also adds a ton of extras. Every city should have it's own version of Park Ave CDs. As an Orlando/Winter Park staple, Park Ave CDs wears many hats- Fantastic record/CD store, small concert venue, bookstore, gift shop for the person who has everything (but they don't have that weird rabbit figurine!), music calendar, electronic advice shop, etc. I recently went in because I'd been looking for a reliable and inexpensive first-time turntable. I have ended up with enough albums to fill a bookcase but have had a hand-me-down broken record player for too long. I went in a bit intimidated. Would they know that I know shockingly little about The Ramones? Would they smell the inexperience on me and scoff at my ridiculous questions? Luckily, my anxiety was short lived. Alex at the front counter let me know about a turntable they were selling at just over $100 and told me how he bought it for a few friends because it was a really decent machine. When we asked about speakers he let us know that they don't sell them but he also told us about a great starter set that he's had for years and has been much better quality than more expensive brands. He even pulled the specs up on his computer so we could take note. As I mentioned before, Park Ave CDs serves as a great local live music calendar as well. They have local shows posted on the wall behind the counter and often have free tickets to less popular shows. If you're lucky, you'll also catch your favorite notional act playing a short set at the record shop before their bigger shows at the Social or HOB. Finally, they have a great curated selection of books they imagine you'd like. Some are music-related, some are just classics. I was stoked to see that they carry a bunch of locally written and published titles as well. Way to support your local arts! read more

I love record shops like this so I'm not sure why it took me so long to make it over to Park Ave CDs. After having this shop on my "to do" list for quite some time, I was not disappointed. Park Ave CDs has a great selection of vinyls, CDs, 45's, book, posters and a lot of other little knick knacks. This is random, but I loved the sock selection. I have a thing for quirky socks. As with any record shop, the prices range pretty significantly. It really just depends on the record - how rare/sought after it is. They did have a good selection of records on sale, though I didn't see anything of interest in that batch (probably why they're on sale). But the overall stock is extensive and I guarantee you'll find something from an artist you know and love. I will say, though, that I prefer Rock N' Roll Heaven on Orange Ave just a bit more. But I think that's just a matter of personal opinion. Both places are great, just a little bit different. Park Ave CDs seems to have a larger selection of newer, more modern music on vinyl, while I'd say Rock N' Roll Heaven leans more toward the older releases. Check both out! I'm so glad this place exists. I have been back to the 1990s, to a time when the incredible luxury of paging through piles of obscure CDs could be found in every plaza. The selection is incredible and now that I am a young urban professional clinging the scraps of my youth in the form of obscure music from 10 years ago, and with market forces making that music acceptably profitable, I feel surrounded by friendly, familiar, comforting bands every time I go to Park CDs. Overwrought sentences aside, this shops existence makes it's excellence self-evident. Only the best survive in an era of bit torrent and iTunes. This place totally deserves its place among the few truly great music stores left in business. I would also mention that there is a comprehensive list of indie shows on the wall, an amazing source organized by venue. Also, the folks who work there are generally really friendly. read more

Love, love, loooved this place. Just had my first ever experience and I will tell you it is waaaay more than vinyl records and CDs - they had some vhs tapes too!! While music seems to be their bread and butter(the aisles of vinyl seem endless), they have all sorts of items to draw you in. There are all sorts of pop culture stuff , a healthy book section and all sorts of funky gift items (check out the sock inventory in the back!). They carry all sorts of local goods from candles to cards! If you're a pin collector(I want to know when this became a thing!), there are several stands at the front to scan through. Not to mention the huge wall of tees. You could really come here to find a cool, unique gift you probably won't find anywhere else and it's all pretty affordable. I would definitely add this to your list of "musts" when in the area. You won't get an experience like this very often! read more

I really love this neat little shop we've got on Park Ave! Not only is its parking lot a hub for markets and events, but it's also participated in Record Store Day, offer tickets for local concerts, and they offer some great and unique giveaways on their Instagram. The staff here are always down to earth and super helpful. This company cares about its customers as well as its community. They offer so many fun products in addition to records, my favorite being their socks. The last pair I got from here had pugs on them and I love them more than anything. They also offer CDs (duh), books, pins, stickers, and fun cards. This place is a great place to stop for a gift for that funky fun cool guy or gal that you know. I tracked down an early Everything But the Girl CD here before iTunes and the Internets made it much easier to do so here, and I've found other rare and otherwise difficult to locate music here in the past. It's a friendly, near-perfect space for music lovers and I am glad to know its still in business despite the damage that file-sharing, big-box stores, and Internet-based sales of music has done to many independent record shops. My only complaint is that it's not larger than it is: the owners seem right on the money with most of what they carry but a larger store would allow a larger inventory and they're missing out on some fine stuff. That said, they are still superb. For years, this is how it was done: you went down to the local record store and bought something, you knew the clerks and you knew when the hippie dude who could tell you all about which Floyd releases were worth getting and the raver kid who would tell you which Jamiroquai remixes were worthing having . . . the now-gone and much-mourned Revolutions Per Minute record store in Savannah introduced me to Saint Etienne, The Divine Comedy, Autechre and countless other great bands. I know Park Ave CDs has done the same thing for many customers. read more

Park Ave even offers the chance to preview all CDs before purchase, so you never have to worry about going home with a CD only to realize later that it wasn't really worth your money. What a gem! I can't believe it took this long for me to get here. I bought a record player for someone and came to get a record to go along with it. 5 stars for the huge selection! Especially in a digital age when not many people are buying physical copies of CDs. Bonus points for the adorable little gift items they keep in stock. I found an awesome Cardi B car air freshener. They carry local author's work as well, that to me is an awesome way for them to give back to the community that loves them so much. I've never been in the store when it's not busy. I walked out with two CDs, socks and stickers after spending about two hours on a day off. One of the best record shops I've visited in the US. The place is huge, with about half of the shop dedicated to new and used vinyl, and the rest to CDs, cassettes and other miscellaneous media and merchandise. My preferred section at a record store is the used vinyl, and they have perhaps the best executed used section I've seen. Everything is broken into typical genres (rock, blues, classical, etc.) and each used record is stored in a plastic sleeve with an informative sticker at the top right. It makes it easy to flip through a packed section as you don't need to see the entire cover. But the sticker also mentions the specific release version it is (i.e. "first UK pressing, 1971") with the media and sleeve grading (i.e. "Near Mint" or "VG+"). They also have one of those fancy vacuum cleaner machines in the back that they use to treat all their used records, which means the records here are more immaculate than anywhere else you will visit. Beyond that, the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and willing to chat, something you don't always get at a record store. And... BONUS... there is an awesome brewery right next door! A must stop if you're in the area, a true gem. read more
