Amanda is the best , if an issue pops up, post a pic and she gets right back to you !!!!!!

I had a Mohs procedure performed by Dr. Spring at Pariser, Williamsburg and it could not have gone better. The doctor and staff are very attentive and kind, so happy they are my "go to" dermatologists. read more

I have been a Pariser patient for about 25 years, starting when I lived in Va. Beach. Last month I had to cancel an appointment (which I'm sure was imediately file with some other patient) due to my wife's illness. Today I received a bil for $50 for "Late Cancel." This tells me they don't want my business anymore. Although I'll pay the $50, I'll be shopping for another dermatology practice. Too bad, as I'll miss Amanda. read more

Waited about 45 minutes after appointment before being seen for about 20 seconds for a body scan. There absolutely no way the scan was of any quality or concern. read more

Do NOT recommend. I've been a patient at Pariser for almost 5 years, primarily only for their "skin check" services twice a year after having cancer spots removed while I was still in the military. I've recently developed a very persistent rash all around my eyes (lids, under eye, etc.) and my neck. Already treated (unsuccessfully) at Urgent Care, I was told I'd need to see a dermatologist specialist to address it. When I called to schedule the appointment, I explained my situation and was told the earliest I could be seen was in Sept, a mere 2 MONTHS from now. As others have stated, I asked whether they have any daily appointments set aside for "emergent" needs and was told no. I have called literally EVERY single business day since then, asking about cancellations and trying to get seen earlier - no success. My eyes are nearly swollen shut, skin sloughing off, but they want me to wait over 2 months to be seen. Separately, my son is being treated by Pariser for his acne. We were able to book monthly appointments for the expected duration of his treatment, but every time we go in, we wait solid 30-45 min past the appointment time to actually be seen - and we get about 90 seconds with the doc before they move on to the next. We are actively looking for another derm in our area, but there are so few to choose from. Pariser knows they're the only show in town and they don't seem to care too much about customer service, even if you are an existing patient. read more

Do not recommend: : -( They are too busy to take on new customers. Long wait time, could not take time to listen. Bummed as I waited several months to get an appointment. Looking for a different dermatologist. read more

I made an appointment here. Had to travel over 40 min to their location in Williamsburg. I used the address I was sent. When I showed up on time I was informed I was at the wrong Williamsburg location that was only 13 min away and they said I only had 10min to get there or else I had to reschedule. I did my best to get there in time. It took me 13 minutes and they said I had to reschedule when you can clearly see the perioral and ocular dermatitis on my face, which has become so painful. I was desperate. It would take one minute to diagnose me and write me a prescription but they refused to take me because I was late and the Dr. was already behind schedule. Both of those reasons were not my fault and I shouldn't have been punished because of them. I am not going back to Praiser when I've been a patient for over 10+ years. I am extremely disappointed in the way they handled this. read more

I visited to have some skin tags removed, a routine procedure I've had many times before. Instead of burning or cutting them off, they sprayed them with cryospray. It didn't cause them to "drop off" as advertised and hurt for hours after. When I called to ask for pain management advise, I was given voice mail and was NEVER called back. In the end I got a bill for 600 Pariser responded and decreased my bill. read more

Dr. Mendoza has been an absolute godsend for me. She actually LISTENS to what I have to say and is open to many kinds of treatment. My genetic skin disease is rare and debilitating. I switched to Pariser Derm Sp. and feel ungodly fortunate to have gotten this amazing doctor. It sounds cheesy as hell, but I cannot tell you how many times I have cried tears a joy and relief because of this amazing physician. read more

My husband and I live seeing Amanda Waggoner for skin checks. She is very cheerful and non-judgmental. She does a very thorough exam and teaches prevention of sun exposure. She is both knowledgeable and informative. I also recently saw Gloria for removal of dark "age spots" on my face. The pigmented areas have bothered me for years and I finally decided to take care of it. Gloria is very attentive and careful with the laser. She does a wonderful job. I recommend having an evaluation by Gloria if you have problem areas. She is very patient and helpful just like Amanda. read more

I've been a patient of the Pariser in Newport News and Williamsburg for 5 years. I have always had good experiences at both locations. I was seen for a skin check, a skin condition due to some medication I'm on and also cosmetic. I've been treated well each time and had things explained to me so I could better understand treatment. I would recommend them to family and friends without hesitation. I just saw them today and was very happy with my office visit. read more

I met with Dr. Kaija Mauro in hopes of starting a discussion about living a better life with eczema. I have had eczema for 33 years and I barely have control over it. I came to the office with a type of treatment in mind - skin testing - but I knew nothing about it and I had imagined a relationship forming between the dermatologist and I so that I could decide whether it was an appropriate treatment. Dr. Mauro, plain and simple, had no time for me. Not only could she not answer any of my questions, but she could not (did not) discuss the details of the allergens and patches that she ordered to be placed all over my back. About 20 patches were stuck to my back and none of them were explained -- why were these patches significant to me and my eczema? What would a reaction to these patches tell me and how does it relate to eczema? I specifically came into the office to find out more about how skin testing can help with identifying food allergens and if there were foods I should avoid given my extreme eczema (as I already live a fragrant-free, jewelry-free, diary-free, humidity-free, hot water-free, nut-free life). NONE of this was discussed and after skin testing Dr. Mauro gave me a Web site print out on nickle because the nickle patch was the patch my skin reacted to (I have no idea what the remaining patches were). To top it off, Dr. Mauro, then hands me a business card referring me to an allergen specialist. Why didn't we start with the referral???? I'm not big on writing Yelp reviews, and after insurance my bill was less than $50 so I paid it, but I felt gypped. So I went back to the office and asked to speak with Dr. Mauro so that I could tell her personally how I didn't feel my needs were met and I was given the run-around by the front desk. The way I see it is, the Pariser clinic saw an opportunity to bill and took the opportunity. None of my concerns were considered when I was issued a skin test, as the test itself provided me with no useful information (and the total cost of them was near $500.00), and maybe that's why Dr. Mauro had very little to say. She would have had to lie to sell me a skin test that day, but fortunately for them, I walked in and said "skin test" and so all the office had to do was produce a skin test. :-/ read more

I took my daughter to get her acne under control. It was refreshing to get a lesson on skin cells and how they work. They also booked an apt on short notice when she got a wort that needed to be removed. I feel this is a really great place. I do wish their hours went later in the day though. read more

Have been going to this practice for a number of years and generally satisfied with the service, however, recently called to have a spot on my scalp checked out and was told there is a 3 month wait for appointments. How can they not have an "emergency appointment list" for things such as this? Also when I asked about a cancellation list, I was told there is one, but there were no cancellations available. They didn't offer to take my name or number. It could be nothing or could be a cancer spot. You are told to call if you find a spot, but when you do you must wait for a long time to be seen. This seems to go against their advice. A bit put out by this and will let them know when I finally get seen. read more

I'm a patient of Dr Bota's at the Suffolk office. He is the kindest, most sincere Dr I have ever met. He has done several Mohs surgeries on my face. I dare anyone to find where. You can't see them. He is very personable, funny, and such a skilled surgeon. He keeps you calm and explains everything he's doing. I would never go to anyone else. I recommend him to everyone! Thank you Dr Bota! read more

I am new to the area and made an appointment with Dr. Mendoza. I went specifically to discuss rosacea and to have 3 keratosis removed. When Dr. Mendoza entered the room (with her transcriber), she didn't even ask me my name. She didn't know why I was there. I told her my two purposes for the visit. She looked at my keratosis and told me all about them (which I already know, because I had just told her that I had had one removed before). She said they're benign (which I already know) and moved on to my rosacea. I showed her the medicine that I was given from another office last year and I told her that it was ineffective. She then talked about rosacea and said that was a good medicine and that the only way to remove it completely was by laser. She then asked about moisturizer and sunscreen and she said she would give me a prescription for the same medicine that I came in with (which was ineffective). Then she whisked out of the office and that was it. I went to the front desk and explained that I was confused by what has just happened. Then, the front desk told me that this Dr. didn't do cosmetic procedures and that keratosis was considered cosmetic. So, the two reasons why I went, rosacea and keratosis removal were not addressed. And, they had no solution to assist me in the purpose of my visit except that I could come back. Additionally, when I said that my reasons for the visit were not addressed and that they had wasted my time and money, the front desk person said, well you had a full body check. And I said no. So, this office is possibly billing my insurance company for the incorrect procedure. I feel totally bamboozled. This Dr. talked very quickly, didn't ask my name, didn't address the issues I came with and was with me probably 5 minutes. A total cattle call operation. read more

We (my husband and I) had an appointment at Pariser Williamsburg yesterday May 15. Pariser had called to change this appointment 3 times because Dr Mauro was unable to be there. On the third call we were told we would see a Molly Smith. When we arrived at our appointment, the receptionist didn't even look up to greet us, (the other lady was with another patient). We stood there for a bit when she finally acknowledged us with a terse "I'll be with you in a minute" and went about whatever she was doing. She finally checked us in. We sat for a while, when finally she announced in front of everyone in the waiting room, that we could not be seen as she did not have his referral and mine was expired. This is not true as I was on the phone with our insurance, and was told that my referral was fine, not expired, and I still had 5 visits!!!. Long story short this started a verbal battle between this receptionist and my husband who felt he was treated like a second class citizen and we both were taken aback at this girls attitude and nastiness. She showed NO respect. She got up from her desk and stormed out slamming the door. I don't know who trains your staff, but this one didn't even know what customer service was!!! We will not be going back there! We would give you her name but we did not get the chance to get it. read more

Won't go back. Charged me $25 for a 12 minute microneedling consultation and couldn't answer most of my questions-even on price-said they had to get back to me. Unclear about recovery process. Didn't even know if they could do just part of the face. Never asked what I wanted just went right into an explanation of what microneedling was-which I already knew from reading online. It was a Friday and I think they wanted to get out of there. Waste of time off work that I had to take to go there. read more

Amanda Wagner and her nurse are great. Very knowledgeable and never seem rushed through. Highly recommend her!

You will never be disappointed with Pariser Dermatology. From the receptionist to the doctor it is a seamless feeling of being important as a patient. It is nice to be greeted in a friendly manner by the receptionist...so many doctors offices fail in that one area....unfriendly receptionists, but not Pariser. I not only appreciate the professionalism, but also the warmth that is felt when you see this practice. read more
