I am still waiting for my job to be finished more than a year later. I paid $4500 for a consultation and floor plan. The fee was to include Melanie"s expert advice and over seeing our project. That did not happen. Taylor her brother (worthless) was sent to oversee the install and in the process he ruined our stair runner which had to be replace. They knew they had ruined because threads run/pulls were all through the runner, when I questioned Melanie about it she said she knew but that the runner had been discontinued and she would have to replace it with something else. She was hoping I wouldn't notice. The painter she hired was terrible I have had to repaint every room that he painted, when I pointed out the paint job her response was I'm not going to use him again, the tile installer chipped my counter and wolf stove and the whole backsplash had to be redone. Melanie tried to pass a halfway job on the the tile insertion on my bookcases, also the tile installer installed a chipped tile on the face of our fireplace. Never fixed. The fireplace mantle had to be removed and in the process they scratched the entire front of it. The amateur rendering of our plan was on cardboard and not to scale, I was out of town on installation day and my bedroom board was missing when I came back. When I questioned her she stated she didn't know what happen well I do, they took it because we didn't get the bed we paid for ( or and by the way it was used soiled and scratched) and she didn't want me to cross reference the pictures thankfully I took pictures of her boards before I left. The pictures were hung uneven, my custom bedspread was wrinkled beyond repair and had to be replaced. The silk curtains were also a mess of wrinlkles. My floors were damaged during carpet installation $3090.00 to repair. I'm still waiting to have those fixed. Beware dealing with this company, they want everything paid in full the day you sign the contract and you have no recourse if there is a problem. My emails and phone calls now go unanswered. Looooooooooooooooove this place. If you are looking for some really quality pieces for your home, this is the place to go. Not cheap at all.. but one of a kind things. The ladies are super sweet and really willing to work with you on pricing if you are really interested. I am buying a piece and plan on buying more (when I can afford it). My wife and I live in Winter Park, but heard about Paris Flea from a friend. So we went over and wow..!! These guys know their stuff, we got several items that no one else suggested, so it really helped us finish a couple of rooms perfectly. Pricing was good too.!! We both love this place. If I could give them a zero I would. I paid them in full and can't get them to deliver my goods or call me back. they gave me 2 invoices of which neither was correct. Apoligized and said they would correct the invoice. NOt done yet. They have my money and I have nothing. read more

I was considering hiring this company to re-design my condo on Bayshore. I have been in the shop and although some of the items are lovely, the same things can be found elsewhere for much less. Nonetheless I made an appointment for the designer to come out and meet with me for a $150 house call fee saying the design plan would cost $1500 or more depending on the scope of the project. In the meantime, I started checking with my co-workers, neighbors, and friends to find out if I should hire them. Well their reputation in South Tampa is horrible and frankly I couldn't believe some of the stories I heard. I kept the initial consultation appointment, listened to the designer's numerous critiques of my place and decided this firm wasn't for me. Reading Tony's review I am so glad I didn't. read more

I held off on writing this review for a long time bc I thought my experience was just a fluke. However, I repeatedly hear horror stories within our small community of South Tampa and thought I should share my experience. Like the reviewer before me, I as well had a consultation with the "lead" designer Melanie from Paris Flea. I paid $1500 for a full home design plan. My plan was to have a complete work up of items, purchase my top priority items, then purchase the other items in phases. I invited Melanie for our in home consultation and I told her my style was French Country/ Parisian. As she walked though my home, she pretty much told me I needed to get rid of everything and start over. I explained to her, that I would like to work with what I had at this time ( we had just built a brand new home on DI and put out a lot of cash) , but really needed help on finding some items that I didn't have and have been unsuccessful finding myself. I told her my top priority was finding- a navy velvet sofa, a gray rug, dining console, chairs for our sitting area, and drapes for our french doors. I told her I would like to see the entire house design and would purchase the other items after we got the priorities taken care of first. Melanie pushed for me to purchase everything through them right away and even offered to call my husband to get more money. I found this a little tacky, but figured maybe that's just how interior designers are. - I expressed I wanted a child friendly formal living room. Was given a modern design with an ALL white couch and rug. Looked nothing like the inspirational pictures I had shown her. - I assumed when buying through an "interior designer," they would have access to items only available through the "trade". I found several of the items they were trying to sell me on wayfair and had marked them up $500+. - Told her I really wanted to focus on finding a navy couch, chairs, drapes. I set up an appointment to review proposed items and am pushed lighting, coffee tables, counter stools, nothing I asked for. - I told them again finding a navy velvet sofa was my #1 priority. They emailed me one, I didn't care for it and asked for a different option. A few weeks later I asked for another option and then was compared to his wife that wants a million dollar house on their $500,000 budget. I said I didn't care how much it cost, just give me another option. Any option. It never happened. I don't know if it was laziness, or they just don't have the contacts that most designers have. - I was repeatedly shown brown and beige fabrics after I asked several times- no cream, beige, brown. - Also, REPEATEDLY shown brown/ geometric/ modern items- not at all french county/ Parisian. - Purchased drapes in February. I was promised to have them end of May. I call to check on them in June and they inform me the fabric is on back order, (not sure why they never called to tell me this) I was told I can chose another fabric or wait. I chose another fabric. I call in August asking when I am getting my drapes and the manager Taylor gives me attitude and says they are "surging" the 6 panels together. I inform him the drapes are only supposed to be hemmed. He tells me that's what I ordered and I will have to pay if I want them redone. I told him he is incorrect. I was able to dig through all my emails and prove that I never said I wanted them surged into 2 panels. - I group text a picture of how I would like to drapery finished. Taylor the co owner asks me to stop group texting bc it eats up to much cell phone data- I thought this was a joke, but he was being serious. I just invested almost $12,000 at this point and he had the audacity to ask me to stop group texting. Very unprofessional. - Drapery was finally delivered in end of August. The designer did not measure correctly and they were 3" too long. At this point I just wanted my drapes and did not trust them back in their hands so kept them as is. -waited 5 months for an ottoman. the ottoman finally arrived, but was missing the tufting, I sent it back. - 2/3 months later ottoman was redelivered, this time with the wrong fabric, sent back again. - sold a dining sideboard too tall for the wainscoting. asked the manager if he can send someone out to move it into the hallway (no refund policy)- he refused and said I can pay $150 to have it moved. p.s. keep in mind they also make you pay $150 every time an item is delivered. Purchased 2 rugs from them: - I was told one of them was on back order. After a few days, I was able to find a rug on my own. I asked if I could receive a refund for the rug. They told me No, they do not offer refunds. This was very frustrating to me bc no money ever exchanged hands with Paris Flea and the vendor. I demanded a store credit and he "made an exception".The second rug came in and clashed with our grasscloth. We paid for a consultation, $150, and , $750, for a floor plan. The consultation was a joke, they had to remeasure because they lost the measurements. I'm not too sure what the consultation included and why we had to pay for it. The floor plan was done on graph paper and we found out later that most of the furniture & fixtures weren't to scale. We had many problems with communication, delivery, mismatched furniture, furniture assembly, damaged furniture and billing. We moved into a new home so we had the den, entryway and dining room decorated & furnished by Melanie and Gale. They presented a picture board that was made up of several pieces of paper taped together, were you couldn't distinguish the furniture's scale or the materials texture. All of our input went in one ear and out of the other, so we trusted Melanie's judgement. The installation day when most of the furniture came was a disaster. The crew didn't have the tools necessary to assemble the furniture so I lent them a screw drivers and wrenches. They left packaging scattered everywhere and didn't clean up after the install. They made us a commitment to have all furniture by the end of January and we received our last delivery in April, and they charged us for the delivery. We ordered the furniture the Friday after thanksgiving just to give you perspective. Our suggestions fell on deaf ears and we had to have them take back club chairs when we specifically requested over sized leather chairs for our den. First they refused to take them back but we reminded them that they told us at the point of sale that they informed us that there was a 25% restocking fee. We noticed that the two club chairs were mismatched and they still charged us a restocking fee. We waited nearly five months for our dinning room chairs and for them to repair the dinning room table, which was damaged, the bar stools were assembled wrong, the entryway consol top was damaged and for them to pick up accessories which didn't go with our furniture. They also never delivered custom made pillows and charged us a 20% restocking fee. When they came to drop off the chairs they also had the replacement for the consol and repaired the bar stools, they charged us a delivery fee. It seems that at this family run business they point the finger at the next family member instead of completing the job and making the customer happy. I wish the Flee the best of luck and hope they recognize and improve on their shortcomings. We will never buy another piece of furniture from the Flee. read more

Horrible experience very similar to the one Tony P. posted, but unfortunately for me on a much larger scale. Same things, measurements were taken incorrectly and in some cases were not taken at all. The floor plan was on graph paper with pictures taped to it, so it was difficult to tell if the sizes were correct. I looked up several items on the internet & found the measurements for myself & contacted Melanie to question the dimensions of the furniture or art for the space and her response to me was that I should trust her judgment. I told her over & over that I wanted casual, comfortable & livable furnishings, but she did not listen. If you want someone to "stage" your home Paris Flea is perfect for you. If you want to actually live in and enjoy your home, I would look elsewhere. She ordered heavy mirrors, one of which was hung incorrectly and crashed to the floor damaging a door & trim which they did not repair. I wanted to replace a dining room table that was not functional & she convinced me to order a $750 piece of round glass to place on top of the table. She ordered a very heavy flower center piece to go on top which cracked the glass. On several occasions she ordered art without measuring the space & instead of returning it she would hang in another space & say that it looked better there. Horrible experience, would not recommend them to anyone. I would give them 1/2 star if I could, and I hope this review prevents someone from wasting their hard earned money the way that I did. read more
